#Chapter6

I woke up with a pounding headache. I kept my eyes shut and groaned. I haven't lost control like that in 2 years. But my goddess, am I paying for it right now. If I lay here and pretend it didn't happen, I don't have to face the mess I have made.

A knock on the door interrupted my pretending. I groaned, pulling myself up then glanced around the room. Fuck my life, I've completely destroyed the room.

I slowly went down the stairs, careful not to make too much noise. My head can't handle the steps. I halted at the bottom of the stairs and sniffed the air. I caught the scent of my uncle, auntie, Lucas and some familiar scent. I recognised the scent, it's Lucas's mate. I met him vaguely when Lucas found him.

Well, let's get this over with.

I opened the kitchen door and stood awkwardly in the doorway. They all stared at me, probably trying to decipher what mood I was in. In the past when I have lost control, I never know what mood I'm going to be in when I have gained control back.

"Hi" I timidly greeted.

My auntie stood up and looked at Tristan. " I know you said to give her space and not crowd her but I have missed her." She ranted before coming towards me.

She stood in front of me and looked at me lovingly. "You have grown into such a beautiful woman." She cooed.

I giggled, "I missed you too, Georgie." I pulled her against me and wrapped my arms around her.

She sniffled and squeezed me. Tristan laughed, coming over to us. "Let her breathe, Hun." He chuckled. She moved away and smiled brightly at me.

"How are you doing after yesterday?" Tristan questioned. I awkwardly pulled at my jeans, I haven't been changed yet. I need a shower and some fresh clothes.

"What's up?" He asked, looking puzzled.

"Um, I kinda destroyed the bedroom," I muttered, staring at the floor. Tristan and Georgie laughed, shaking their heads. "Don't worry about it. We can fit it." They assured.

They left the kitchen, leaving just me, Lucas and his mate, who I think is called Elijah. Lucas stayed sat at the table, glaring at the fruit bowl. I bit back a giggle and coughed. "Hi, I don't know if you remember me but I'm Elijah." He spoke as he stood up and came over to me.

I nodded my head, "Yes, I remember you. Nice to see you again." I smiled. He returned the gesture then glanced at Lucas. "I'll leave you two alone." He said shooting daggers at Lucas. I gave him an awkward smile, he touched my shoulder, giving me a small smile before leaving the room.

Well, this isn't awkward at all. I guess I'm going to have to make the first more. I slowly wandered over to Lucas. As I reached the table, he startled me by throwing his arms around my waist and pulling me into him. I immediately responded, crushing myself against him. I have missed him so much!

"I'm so, so sorry!" I sobbed. He stood up and brought me into his chest. "No. I'm sorry." He whispered.

I glanced up at him, "I'm sorry I missed your wedding." I remarked wistfully. He shook his head, "I knew you wouldn't come. If I could have postponed, I would have." He spoke softly.

"I didn't see the message, Luc. If I had known, I would have been there." I whispered. He pulled me against him and enveloped his arms around me, stroking my hair. "Can you do me a favour?" He asked.

"Sure," I muttered.

"Take your necklace off for a few minutes." He answered.

I panicked and pulled away. "Why?" I asked worriedly.

"Because my wolf can't sense yours and it's driving him mad. We're family, Amaris. He's just concerned." He explained sadly.

I guess that makes sense. But I don't think I can... If I do and Rhydian is nearby, he'll sense me and that'll be it.

"Where's Rhydian?" I asked.

"He's out on a hunt, why?" He looked at me confused.

"No reason," I dismissed him.

I took a shaky breath and slowly removed the necklace. I held the necklace tight in my hand and forced a smile. Lucas wrapped his arms around me and breathed heavily. "Thank you." He whispered and planted a gentle kiss on my forehead.

"You can put it back on now." He smiled. His eyes fogged over, he was getting a mindlink. I fastened my necklace and waited for Lucas to finish. "Right, Alpha Rhydian needs me so I'll catch up with you soon, ok?" He smiled.

"I need to know who this Alpha Rhydian is." I deadpanned, glaring at him.

He rolled his eyes and nodded. "Meet us in the packhouse in an hour and we will tell you everything." He sighed.

I nodded and hugged him again. "I hope you forgive me for leaving," I whispered. He gave me a quick hug, "If you forgive me for acting like a spoilt pup." He chuckled.

"Deal," I smirked. He went towards the door and turned his head to me, "I am soo glad you're back." He gushed. I nodded and gave him a small smile, "Me too," I whispered, "I just wish I come back earlier."

"He loved you, Amaris. Just remember that." He announced then left the room. I took a deep breath and leaned against the kitchen counter.

I sighed exhaustdly and hung my head back. This hour is going to drag, I need answers. I huffed and headed to the bedroom.

I opened the door and stepped inside. I took one look at the room and walked out. Nope, I'm not dealing with that now. I groaned and went in search for the bathroom. I opened the first door to my right and peeked in, another bedroom. I went along the corridor and opened the door at the end.

This should be a bathroom. I mean, how many rooms does this house have?!

I walked into a black and white bathroom. It was stunning. There was a walk in shower on the right, a double sink and mirror opposite with a huge corner bath next to it. I walked over to the shower and turned it on. On the back wall there was a toilet, a long shelving unit on the wall full of all different kinds of bathroom products. A little set of black marble drawers with some other products with a hanging towel rack mounted on the wall next to it.

My dad definitely made this house, amazing!

I took a deep breath.

I miss you, dad.
