Mira's POV -" This is it then... Mamma, take care of yourself and don't worry. I will give you a call when I land. "I hugged her so tight that I could have crushed her frail frame. What was more amazing was the force with which she hugged back. It was ten times rougher and tighter than mine. She was fighting to hold back her tears. And so was I. It was my first time staying away from her. It was my first time going away so far. After the last round of announcements for boarding, I had no option but to hurry my way towards the entry point. They let me in after checking my documents. I was shown inside the craft with a smile.I settled down at the window. And stared out of it, watching the big wings which were about to carry us all. I looked around. It was a crowded space. People were trying to get to their seats, arrange their luggage, and tuck in their babies as the air hostesses went about helping everybody. It was a long and exhausting flight but we finally landed after nine long hours. I didn't know how the time went by. The clouds from my window were too mesmerizing. It was only when I stood up that I realized that I had a full bladder and also had cramps in my leg.I tucked my half-eaten sandwich inside my bag. Then rushed towards the toilet to relieve myself. There were people still getting off, so I figured I would have time. Two other people were waiting in line, before me. I relieved myself as fast as I could, but by the time I came out, most of the people were gone. I rushed to the exit, afraid I might be left behind." Where are you coming from? "That question made me stutter as I could feel the building up of my anxiety.A few more staff joined as I stood there, stammering, without an answer." She's with me! "Suddenly a voice and a hand came from the back. It landed over my shoulder." Did you check your seat properly? No bags were left behind, right? "I turned to look at the person asking that question and to my surprise, it was my rescuer, the handsome rich boy who had taken me to his house. He pulled something out from his pocket and showed it around to the staff. It looked like some sort of an identity card but I knew that it was more than an identity card because it had a magical effect on everyone. They immediately backed up and bowed. Their faces went from authoritative to naive. They immediately let us go and we went smoothly out of the place." What a coincidence! " He smirked." Thanks... " I moved away from his grip as he smiled once again." Seems like fate is the culprit in this sudden reunion. "His smirks were dangerous and they were a stark contrast to his innocent face. I say dangerous because I couldn't look away." I... I am here to study. "I said looking away because the way I was staring was rude." Study? Where? "" I will be an exchange student at Pamora High for a couple of months. "I said as I kept walking towards the exit point. We still had not been through the security and visa checking process. I needed to hurry up because I needed to report at a number of places, beginning with my new hostel and class." Pamora High? Wow! Which school do you go to? "He kept on with his questions and I kept on answering as briefly as possible." So, are you here on holiday? "I finally asked after I collected my baggage. He had nothing with him except for his tiny handbag. And in front of him, my luggage looked like I was carrying the entire Himalayan mountain in my bag." Let me help you! "He lifted the last bag, lying still on the floor, which I couldn't carry over my shoulders anymore." Seems like my mother packed the entire house. Sorry. But you don't have to do this. I can manage. "He flashed that deadly smile and walked in front of me." You are so lucky to have your mother's love. It's a unique experience. "We walked to the taxi terminal and he helped me get all my stuff inside the cab before he left." See you around. "He left as I hurried inside. When I was already halfway inside the new city, I realized that he did not tell me his purpose of visit at all. He came and vanished as suddenly as before. And what was worse was that I had forgotten to ask him his name, again.Mira's POVThis new hostel was no joke, I must insist. I honestly felt, I was at a hotel when I tried getting my room number at the reception. I mean, what hostel even has a reception? They have warden rooms and the main office, right? Or am I just being a low class naive? Anyways, I learnt that I was going to share a room with a roommate.I patiently carried my baggage up and knocked on the door, even though I had the keys. If there was someone already residing in that space, I was only intruding. I was trying to be as less hostile as possible. After all, I had come to the place for a little peace. " Did they not give you those damn keys? "A half awake voice, flung the door open. She was wearing a t-shirt and matching shorts. Her hair was silver and tied up in a messy bun. She was at least a few inches taller than me and she stood there, staring me up and down, from behind a half rimmed glass that she was wearing. " Ummm, Hi, I'm Mira. Ummm, well I do have the keys but I didn
It was going to take Mira a lot of time to adjust to her new place. It was very clear to her. What was not clear was the fact that a world beyond her imagination was already awaiting her. She had no idea that people, who were not human, like her, had already started surrounding her presence. She hurried towards her first class for the day, A Brief Introduction to Historical Architectures. She burst inside the classroom, which was more like an auditorium, a movie theater with a gigantic 3-D screen. They were being shown some documentary and the room was pitch black except for the light from the screen. As soon as she entered, the light from the outside corridor entered like a flood, forcing the entire class to turn in her direction. " I... I am looking for the final year History class... Am I... Am I at the right place? "A very husky voice from amidst the dark replied, " Indeed, this is the History class for the final year students. Are you by chance an exchange student? "Mir
" Is it necessary for you to leave? We have already arranged for a representative for the exchange program. You don't need to waste your senior years for something like this? You can go on a vacation if you need a break. Why are you insisting on going for the Exchange Student Program? "Braze's mother had no knowledge that he was applied to be on that list, even though she was the principal. It was primarily because it was a trivial matter and things like these were handled by her subordinates. It was when her son was about to leave, that she knew about the matter and she definitely didn't look pleased. " I just want to go for the ESP, Mama. What's the big deal about it? "It wasn't like he and his mother were particularly affectionate. Besides, he too needed his time away from Mira. He knew he was running from his reality. Those dreams that were haunting him lately, those urges that were telling him that he didn't belong where he was, those voices that were whispering in his cons
Mia's POV" So you study here. Were you on holiday when... when we first met? I mean when you saved me? "It was a little awkward when we saw each other again at the canteen. There was no running away this time. He came right up to me with his hand full of food and drinks, while, I only had a sandwich. Well that was all I could afford with my food pass because there were too many options to get spoiled from. Too many exquisite dishes spread all across the gigantic hall. He smiled instead of answering. " Come, let's take that table and eat. I am starving. "He grabbed me by my wrist and pulled to the corner most empty seat. " Here, eat... " He thrust the big packet of nachos right in my face. " Oh, thank you so much... you didn't tell me you had such a generous boyfr... I mean friend Mia. "It was Stella, my new found , self proclaimed best friend. I have no idea where she appeared from. She pouced right at the packet from over my head, dropping crumbs all over my dress as she gobb
Braze's POV" Stop. Please stop. Please don't shout,I am not here to hurt you. I need help. "I was trying to tell her through my gruff voice but my words drowned when I accidentally pressed the hot water button in the shower. It didn't feel much when it fell on my back but the moment it touched her fair, naked skin, I could see scalding , instantly. Nobody could blame her when she went out yelling again, and screaming as I fought hard to stop the water that had caused all the mayhem. Within the next few seconds the guards were at the door, ringing her bell. She grabbed her bathrobe and ran towards the door knob. I don't know if it was the urgency of the situation or my new found abnormality, but I literally flew past her and held the doorknob before she could unlock the latch. " I am not here to hurt you. "This time I articulated perfectly. I fell on her feet but she jumped back, possibly thinking I was a perverted being. I should have been faster than my body and told her mor
***At Chemora-Present Day***" You say you could detect some of them? Is that correct? "Kilian asked , his purple eyes sparking with excitement. He was floating in a pitch black, backdrop but there was a cable tied firmly at his waist. Apparently, it was there to hold him back. It was there so he would not float away. He was talking with a voice. The voice came to him very feeble and he could not see the face of the speaker. " Not some, only one. I could detect some energy blasts. Very soft and momentary. I think his powers are just awakening. It's at the earliest stage. The energy blasts are involuntary and the frequency is also unpredictable. We haven't been able to locate him yet but we are all working at that. I am hoping , we will be able to send you a positive report soon. "The voice concluded. " You say it's a he, not a she. Are you certain? "Kilian's voice sounded a little disappointed. " Very certain Lord Kilian. I would not report a mistake. "Kilian nodded. " You ca
Mira's POV" What's with these hot boys Mira. I thought you were like me. But you seem to be like so 'happening'. "Stella's nose zoomed in, in front of my eyes. I was lying on the grass, at the campus. The lawn was at the back, so I was just trying to get some fresh air, privately. The day was lost, trying to explain the incident at the police station. Our principal, Braze's mom, got involved and things took a little time to settle down. I, got dragged in the spotlight, along with him, for no reason.I was trying to peacefully watch the white butterfly hover all around me. These things never seemed odd, like the thunder whenever I was sad or the butterfly, whenever I was anxious. It was what I was used to, ever since I was a baby. What I wasn't used to, was Stella. She shoved me so hard that my poor butterfly flew away. " Come on. Tell me Mira. What's your secret. "" Leave that girl alone."I pulled my head up to look at who was speaking. It was my roommate. She was towering ov
Mira's POVDid I still have feelings for Braze? Hell no! Not after what he did to me. I was not that pitiful. Why then, was my heart beating abnormally? Every time I closed my eyes , I could see Betty, on Braze's lap. I was definitely going crazy. " Shit! It's thundering again. I hate thunder! "Razzak was busy closing all the windows, one by one. She then came inside my blanket and cuddled up. " I am sorry. Please bear with me. Ouch! "She yelled as another round of thunder claps rumbled. "Doesn't it bother you? "She looked more distressed at my nonchalance. " Have you ever been in love? "I don't know why I asked her that. "Me? No! Never! Why? Did anyone break your heart? You look broken. Was it one of those boys? "She suddenly sat up, forgetting her fear. "Are they still after you? Bothering you? Tell me girl. "Her shadow elongated in the background as she stood up with the blanket still over her shoulder. Ping! Ping! Just then my notification tone went off. I turned
