Desired by the Don

Jayden had just gotten a glass of milk and was seated on a wooden chair, beside his bed. His eyes were firmly fixated on the television as he watched a live broadcast, from his preferred news channel.

A girl he met at the club last night was being arrested for murder, which made slight smirk appear by the side of his lips. Seeing how bewildered and frightened she looked, pleasured him.

He knew she was innocent; she didn't kill anyone.

People called her a prostitute, which she clearly was actually, but he couldn't deny the fact that, she didn't look like one.

However, when he asked for a girl to spend the night with at the club yesterday, some girls informed him that she was a sex worker. They even volunteered to take her to his room because she was totally wasted.

Jayden was quite tipsy and horny; it was urgent that he satisfy his sexual urge, before heading home, else he wouldn't be able to resist himself from having sex with his so called wife, Ivy. He was forced into marrying Ivy by his father, and for a variety of reasons, he had no choice but to give his assent.

He was perplexed to find out that, the girl he had spent the night with was a virgin. If she was a prostitute, then she ought not to be a Virgin.

Anyways, he was indifferent.

After he was done with her, Jayden got dressed up and was ready to leave. His hands had just touched the door knob, when it occurred to him that, he didn't drop her remuneration. He took a few backward steps,  pulling out a wad of cash from his side pocket.

Without looking, he dropped the money  on the ground and said "she would definitely see it, once she awakens."

Before he could exit the room, a masked man discreetly unlocked the door while holding a knife in his hand. Fortunately, the bulb was quite dull to some extent, making the room a little bit dark.

Jayden snuck behind the door, waiting for the masked man to successfully enter the room.

"Waiting until he discovers my presence would be risky." Jayden thought inwardly.

He didn't waste any more time and swiftly grabbed the man's hand, stopping him from wielding the knife. The man fought to extricate himself and was undoubtedly pretty strong.

Eventually, the knife fell to the ground as Jayden twisted his hand. He kicked it in the direction of the bed while removing his face mask with his other hand.

As usual, it was Jerry. It wasn't surprising to Jayden because, this was probably his sixth attempt to kill him. Jerry held a significant position in the Black Shade Mafia. In an effort to seize control, he has always attempted to kill Jayden.

Unfortunately, he consistently failed in all his  attempts to attacks. Jayden knew that this would be his last day on earth as he had already made up his mind not to spare him anymore.

While Jerry ran to reach for the knife, he  shouted, "You son of a bitch, I'll kill you."

For a second, Jayden thought that Jessica, who was sound asleep on the bed, would suddenly awaken when she shifted her legs, but she didn't.

Just before Jerry could get the knife, he picked it up and deeply pierced it into his neck deeply.

Blood gushed out immediately. He watched Jerry pull out the knife with his last strength, wincing it pain as he gasped for breath, while staggering towards the bed with an unknown intention.

Anyway, he wasn't bothered because, no matter what Jerry did, he wouldn't make it for another sixty seconds. After struggling for a few more seconds, as expected, he dropped dead on the bed.

Jayden reached into his back pocket and pulled out a multi-coloured handkerchief. He cleaned his hands aggressively, before tossing it to the ground. Before leaving the room, he made sure to straighten his shirt, totally forgetting all about the girl until he later noticed her on the TV.

"Who cares if she went to jail?" He snorted loudly and turned off the television.

He needed to be at Alley avenue by noon for some crucial settlement, which would likely result in exchange of a few bullets and cost some lives, but the money is definitely worth it. Despite having more than enough, Jayden was known to be notorious in handling matters involving money.

He quickly got into the bathroom to have his bath, since his men were already waiting for him outside.

On stepping out, with a towel wrapped around his waist and his bare chest in display, he was pissed to find Ivy laying on his king sized bed. No woman, not even his wife dare to lie on his bed. His anger escalated when he noticed that, she had put back on the television as well.

"What!"

Jayden was about to shout at her.

She knew full well that she wasn't supposed to be in his room, except he calls for her or gives her the permission. They slept in separate rooms and she never comes to Jayden's room without his consent.

That was the agreement.

It was surprising to see her lie comfortably, like they were now some kind of lovey-dovey couple.

However, he kept mute when his eyes glanced at the T.V screen. Still on display was the live broadcast regarding the alleged murder by the prostitute.

He watched her sobbing uncontrollably as the police led her to their vehicle; she appeared both helpless and terrified. She begged her mother and made an effort to justify herself, but in the end her father disowned her.

For the first time in a very long time, Jayden felt guilty. The young girl, who he was obviously older than with a few years was actually about to pay for a crime she knew nothing about.

This was so much of a disgrace and an embarrassment for her.

"Fuck sake, she is too young. Her only mistake was drinking to stupor last night." Jayden muttered silently.

Ivy gave him a fleeting glance, before turning her attention back to the screen. She had a satisfactory smile on her face while she watched. It seemed as though she was seeing an intriguing movie.

This sheepish act of hers, only made Jayden more furious. He angrily switched off the television, which left Ivy shocked.

Turning off the television was probably not what she expected.

He walked over to his closet to get dressed and yelled to her in a husky voice, "Get your fucking self out of my room."

Ivy left his room without saying anything; she was plainly upset, but at this point, that was the least of his concerns. Gone are the days when she would always report him to his father and he would have to apologize; his father was dead now.

"Shit! I have to stop this!" He said to himself, hitting the wardrobe filled with anger.

As usual,  Jayden was dressed like someone going for a funeral, but black was his favorite colour and majority of clothes were all black.

He also took a face mask along with him because, he needed to be somewhere he hadn't plan on being.

"I can't believe I'm doing this shit, she should just rot in jail and die. Why be bothered Jayden?" He soliloquized,  descending down the stairs in a hurry.

His men saw him and they all came to order with a stern, serious look on their faces. They greeted in chorus without getting an answer from him.

Jayden got into the  backseat of the car and slammed the door

.

"Take me to the hotel I went to last night." He ordered his driver.

The driver instantly signaled to the other,  that we would be heading somewhere else.

"What am I doing? Damn, I may lose some good money." Jayden yelled, repeatedly tapping the vehicle seat with the tips of his finger.

His driver became alarmed. He was fully aware of his boss potential when he became enraged. While driving, he kept casting sideways looks at Jayden and his hands vibrated.

Jayden and his men trooped into the hotel, just as the police van was about to leave. Fortunately, they couldn't pass through, since they have been blocked. He let out a loud sigh, before putting on the face mask which he had been holding.

The murmurings of the crowd grew louder as he descended, and everyone scurried closer to get a better view. He took a quick step towards the police car without waiting any longer.

A man with a gun in his hands was emerging, and the others soon followed.

The officer's face was etched with worry as Jayden drew closer; he was desperate to find out who was coming. Since Mr. Harrison didn't know if the masked man was a dangerous or a prominent person, he was unsure of what to do.

Jayden loved  it.

"Innocent people, including you, will die here unless you peacefully hand over that girl to me." He whispered in  Mr.Harrison's ears, pointing out a tattoo on his wrist.

Mr. Harrison's eyes widened as he took a few backward steps, he was completely frozen and his mouth was left agape. It was just as Jayden expected; no one dare to see the Black Shade Mafia sign without shuddering.

For fear of his life, he instantly ordered his men to release the girl after coming back to his senses.

When she was eventually brought out, Jayden couldn't help but feel more guilty. Her face was already red and swollen. The young innocent face stared  at him curiously with a red tearful eyes, before limping towards him in haste. Jessica had hurt her legs while struggling with the police.

When she was close enough, Jayden grabbed her arms and turned to leave, making no attempt to speak to her as he made his way to his car.

It was obvious that she was in pain and distress, but he didn't know how to be compassionate.

One of his men rushed to open the car door, when suddenly a gun shot was heard. The aim was the kill Jayden, but since he was still standing, the bullet must have hit someone else.

Blood splatters appeared on his car's window.
