Chapter 16 You’re only mine

Alice’s P.O.V.

As I prepare lunch, my hands shake uncontrollably, the knife slipping from my grasp. I’m lost in the thoughts of what I witnessed this morning. Fear grips me tightly, refusing to let go. The horrifying images of Edward Sir’s cruelty towards Nancy, the sound of her screams, and the intensity of her suffering replay over and over in my mind.

The sound of my ringing phone startles me; the caller ID displays “Master,” and a sense of dread washes over me. I take a deep breath to steady myself before answering the call.

I bring the phone to my ear with trembling hands. “Hello, Master.” I say, my voice shaky but trying to maintain a composed tone.

“Come to my office now.” He disconnects the call, saying this in a stern tone.

“I’m so scared.” I murmur and tears trickle down my cheeks.

“What happened, Alice? Why are you crying?” As Mia asks me, I rub off my tears with the back of my palm.
