A Rough Past

After a hectic week, Richard finally found some time out to meet with Debby.

He had almost forgotten about her if she hadn’t called to mention it the previous day.

Richard chose one of the restaurants where he usually had his business meetings to meet her. He set the appointment for 1 PM and by the time he arrived, Debby was already sitting and waiting for him to his surprise.

“I’m so sorry to have kept you waiting,” Richard apologized as they shared a three-second hug before separating.

“It’s alright. I just arrived as well,” Debby smiled. “My place is far, so I set out earlier so I wouldn’t keep you waiting either.”

As they took their seats, Richard called for a waiter. “Order whatever you like,” he said with a kind gaze at her as he picked up the menu.

Debby only glanced at the front page of her menu before shifting her gaze to him. “It’s my first time here, and I don’t want to make the wrong choice. How about I get the same thing as you?”
