Chapter 9 Your condition!

Chapter 8

Lucien sat still with disdain on his face as the orange juice dripped down on the jacket he was putting on. He remained completely still, not even flinching as the juice finally soaked the entire fabric. His eyes were like ice, cold and unfeeling, as he watched her.

Avery stood there, her chest heavy in anger, as she glared at him feeling irritated. She could take everything but she wouldn't tolerate being looked down on.

“You've made a grave mistake, My dear,” His words cut like a knife.

“I'll make sure you regret it!” He coldly said ready to leave the dining table.

“I want a divorce!” Avery said dropping the bombshell confusing almost everyone in the dining room. She was also confused by her outburst.

“Divorce?”He enunciated the word once again with an unbelievable expression, the lady in front of him had always had the desire to marry him and tried to throw herself at him but she suddenly asked for a divorce the next day of their marriage.

“What? Do you love me that you can't bear to divorce me?” She sneered with an eye roll.

Butler Lee kept his gaze on a lane, he was just looking straight forward into Avery's eyeball and could see the serious look on her face which was much different from the last time he met her.

“Leave us!” Lucien coldly announced in an authoritative tone.

Almost immediately, the maids took about ten feet backward except Butler Lee who was close by to them.

Lucien didn't utter a single word and just sat there with a burning anger running through him, his terrifying gaze was enough to prove how much he hated the disgusting lady in front of him.

“Is this one of your childish jokes?” Lucien glanced at her, his eyes dangerously narrowed.

“You must be muddled head to think this sounds like a playful joke!” She said with no sign of a childish joke in her words.

“Wait… Why did you think I voluntarily helped you out of the mansion? You think I followed you here without a reason, huh?

From the owner's memories, Avery could see how the previous owner wanted and always desired to marry the richest man who happened to be the man in front of her. She was sure the reason why the man in front of her was acting cranky towards her was because he knew the owner of the body had much crush and hoped to marry him.

With the little details he knows about the man in front of her, she knew it would do a great favor to not get a divorce and eventually mean for her to hide under him and get her desired revenge but the man sees the previous owner as a cheap lady who would do anything to marry him which she decided she must change those thoughts of his!

“Do you think your parents would allow you to get a divorce, Eileen? Dream on!” Lucien sneered, breaking the silence.

“Does that matter to you? You can easily divorce me by telling my parents I didn't meet your standards! Simple, isn't it?” She calmly said before sipping from her drink.

“Okay,” Lucien said, still finding it hard to believe her.

At this point Avery began hoping she wouldn't end up regretting her actions, even if the man happened to divorce her right on her seat she would have nothing but the work of the previous owner which she wasn't sure she would be able to do but still would be giving it a shot today.

The only thing she could think about was how to achieve her aim, how to make sure she wouldn't lead the kind of life she lived in her previous life, she had to get her revenge deep and clean.

“Hey, dish me another portion!” Avery ordered at the maid who instantly rushed towards her.

“Okay, madam!” The maid addressed with a sly smirk playing at the corner of her lips and stylishly glanced at her master with the corner of her lips.

“It's Miss Av.. Eileen for you!” Avery spoke up instantly, she couldn't help but sense a little bit of mockery in the maid's words but she didn't bother to give it a second thought not like she cared about how she would be addressed.

Minutes later, Avery was done eating while Lucien didn't touch anything on the dining table and just focused his gaze on Avery who was eating like a lost puppy who was being derived from eating.

Avery could feel his gaze on her but she didn't even spare a second to return the gaze until she was done eating.

She stood up from the chair ready to ascend the staircase when his cold voice stopped her on her track.

“Tell me your condition! Or do you really want a divorce?!” He coldly stated.

“Avery, this is an opportunity for you to get what you want! Not like divorce is an option!” Avery thought inwardly, she couldn't but be happy that her first plan worked on a cold-hearted man like him.

From the previous owner's memories, Avery could see that Eileen was an illegitimate daughter of the Morrison family and that without her work and popularity, she was absolutely nothing. Her family was going bankrupt which was why they pushed their daughter into the marriage and also Eileen has always loved the Man which seemed like a Grand option.

She wants revenge but she couldn't blurt it out as that would make Lucien suspicious of her.

“Bring the cheque book!” He ordered.

Butler Lee bowed respectfully before walking to the cabinet to get the requested cheque book.

Avery was surprised when she heard him but she still didn't move an inch from where she was.

“Three million dollars?” Lucien asked with confidence as he believed the lady was bitchy and would reject such an amount of money.

“Five million dollars?”

“Eight million dollars?”

“Damn it!” Avery cursed feeling tempted by the huge money, she had never touched such an amount but her so-called husband wanted to name her condition.

“Fifteen million dollars?”

Lucien smirked coldly when he saw her cursing herself, he believed she wouldn't be able to overcome the temptations.

“Twenty million dollars!”
