002. Useful women

Ethan Brooks was so scared that his heart skipped a beat and he couldn't breathe. A moment later, however, the woman waved her hand at Ethan Brooks, gathering her rain-drenched hair away from her face and revealing a face of stunning beauty by the faint light of thunder and lightning in the sky.

She was wearing a red dress, which was soaked through by the rain, and her delicate proportions were visible, but even if she was in such a sorry state, she still attracted attention, and the words  "temperament and looks" were enough to summarize it.

Soft and beautiful.

But even though he could see it clearly through the flash, the silhouette was still nifty and a bit oozy in the dark.

"Holy fuck! Who are you?"

At this point, Ethan Brooks doesn't notice about beauty, he's screaming over his little heart. The woman, her face anxious, waved her hand at Ethan Brooks repeatedly and pointed to the sky, then held her hand above her head. “Hello?"Ethan Brooks understood that she probably meant she wanted to get out of the rain, but was more curious as to why she didn't say anything.

The woman bit her lip, probably too lazy to explain, and pulled a large coconut leaf directly from Ethan Brooks' hut and held it over her head. Half of his shoulder got wet. "Hey! What's wrong with you?"

Ethan Brooks cursed and made to climb out of the nook to grab it, not realizing that the woman was clutching something in her hand and gesturing towards Ethan Brooks.

Knife?

Ethan Brooks couldn't see much, but the thing had a curved tip that looked sharp.

With no time to spend with her here, Ethan Brooks climbed straight out of the nook and ran towards the coconut grove. He had to find some kind of container to catch the rainwater in a hurry.

The only suitable containers were the empty coconuts that he had eaten, and

now Ethan Brooks regrets that he didn't have the foresight to smash them open, and had to brave the rain to do so now.

With a bit of brute force, Ethan Brooks ripped the coconut skin open with his bare hands, revealing the coconut shell inside. He had previously seen from a variety program, that the coconut shell in the middle, is a natural straight line, as long as it is placed in a line with it into the cross of the linear point of gravity gently knocked, the coconut shell will crack into two bowls.

Ethan Brooks, quick as a whip, quickly made eight coconut bowls, plus the two coconut shells he had smashed from eating the coconut meat, and placed one on the rock to hold it in place.

As if that wasn't enough, Ethan Brooks climbed up a coconut tree in the pouring rain, broke off a bunch of coconut leaves, and laid them flat on the ground. The pinnate leaflets of the coco leaf are all curled upwards, Ethan Brooks pokes their tips into the sand with a quick finger, and the leaflet becomes a long container, although a leaflet does not store much water, but the sand is gathered into a tower.

At first, the mute girl in the hut poked her head out and looked curiously, but watching Ethan Brooks jump up and down, she soon figured it out and ran out as well, kneeling to help Ethan Brooks poke at the tips of the other leaves, but always keeping Ethan Brooks at a distance, her weapon clutched tightly in her hand.

The two persons were quick on their feet and poked through nearly twenty large leaves in three or four minutes.

The mute girl was the first to run back to the nook. When Ethan Brooks ran back to the nook, the dumb girl was sitting inside the nook, pointing the weapon in her hand at him. Ethan Brooks doesn't say a word either and glares at her with his arms crossed.

The mute girl was quickly embarrassed by the look, and after a moment's thought, moved to the corner, pointing her weapon at the other corner of the nook.

Ethan Brooks didn't have the heart to get into the nook. Luckily, this shack was built wide enough for the two of them to curl up individually, and there was still about half a meter of space in the middle.

Ethan Brooks looked the woman up and down and instantly frowned. "Hey, did you steal my coconuts this afternoon?"The woman glared and wrinkled her brow, then quickly commiserated and gestured toward Ethan Brooks.

"you are a little mute!" Ethan Brooks said in no uncertain terms. The woman grabs a coconut, makes tearing motions on it with her hands, then bites it with her teeth, and finally throws it on the ground in indignation, looking at Ethan Brooks without a good look. Ethan Brooks nearly suffocated."Oh, you can't open it, can you?"

Seeing Ethan Brooks taunting her, the mute woman gestured again at the weapon in her hand. Ethan Brooks was the one who didn't laugh, taking a couple of vague glances at the weapon in her hand through the light of the thunder. It wasn't a knife, it looked like the claw of some animal, a fingernail, but it was a little too big, longer than a human index finger, curved with an edge and sharp at the tip, it had to be a super-sized predator, and Ethan Brooks couldn't for a moment think of anything with a claw that big.

But whoever this woman was, with a weapon at his side, Ethan Brooks didn't feel very safe all the same. "Are you a survivor of the plane, too?" The mute woman nodded.

"Can you put the knife down, you're borrowing my place, can't you be polite?" The mute woman slowly lowered the weapon in her hand, but still stealthily straddled the middle of the two.

Ethan Brooks shook his head helplessly and leaned back, glancing at her with an equally wary afterimage.

Ethan Brooks didn't have the time to question her about the sudden appearance of such an uninvited guest, because he was really in a hurry.

Sleepy. Heavy rain is a natural lullaby.

Despite Ethan Brooks' constant vigilance, his eyelids kept fighting, and he squinted off and on for a while before falling asleep for the last time, perhaps too long mentally strained, and this time sleeping heavily.

After a long long time, Ethan Brooks only felt a tingling in his neck for a moment, and then woke up with a start, his neck was itchy, as if he had been bitten by some small insect, and he unconsciously scratched it. The rain stopped, the day dawned, and the mild sunshine poured directly overhead Crikey! Where's the roof?

Ethan Brooks sat up with a flutter, half the top of his nest was missing its coconut leaves, and his center parting was now a parting. Looking outside the nook again, he nearly exploded in anger. The mute woman tugging at her roof leaves was dragging them toward the beach, all eight or nine of them already.

"Hey!"

Ethan Brooks's angry gulp startled the mute girl in the place, throwing away her leaves and staring flabbergasted at Ethan Brooks, who had burst out of the nest in a rage. She didn't pull out a weapon this time, but when Ethan Brooks took one step forward, she took one step back, and two steps back. Her hair had dried, and her belly-length black cascade of hair was half-tucked behind her head, and her hair hung down at the temples in front of her body in an elegant, old-fashioned way.

The classic charm, indeed, was beautiful, but instead of pretending to be delicate, she stared, wide-eyed and sideways, at Ethan Brooks, the stubborn little fire burned in his eyes.

She was deaf and dumb anyhow, and seeing her like that, Ethan Brooks couldn't bear to scold her anymore and waved at her impatiently, then went up to pick up his coconut leaves.

Unexpectedly, the mute woman tried to attract Ethan Brooks' attention and sign language again but seemed to know that Ethan Brooks couldn't read professional sign language, so she pointed directly at herself, then gestured a walk with two fingers, and finally pointed at Ethan Brooks.

This Ethan Brooks can read. It means I'm following you.

Ethan Brooks doesn't even think about it, he just shakes his head. There was no telling how long it would take for help to arrive. And since there is one woman on this island, there may be other survivors,it may cause trouble. At that thought, Ethan Brooks shook his head firmly.

The mute girl's eyes went red and she bit her lip and glared at Ethan Brooks for a long time, making Ethan Brooks feel a little guilty.

"This bit of coconut leaf is for you, okay? I'll go pick them again."

Ethan Brooks threw down the leaves he just picked up to see the mute girl's reaction.

The mute woman wiped a tear that was about to come to her eyes and gestured again, pointing to herself and then to a rocky ledge not far from Ethan Brooks's hut, and then gestured with her hand to a small house. Probably means” I live next to you”.

Ethan Brooks all but laughed in exasperation, not bothering to explain to her that he just had to leave her alone anyway. "Whatever, throw you to the monsters when they come and buy me some escape time."

After that, Ethan Brooks didn't care about her, his stomach was already hungry, he went to open a few coconuts for breakfast first, and after eating, he still had to remodel his own little nest.

The mute girl is also a bit stubborn. Seeing that Ethan Brooks does not care about her, she runs to the edge of the jungle and picks up branches one by one, while picking up branches, she also peeps at Ethan Brooks to see how to build a nest, and she even gets back some wood.

But just two pillars have to be poked deep into the sand, laying a good foundation, not to mention the need to tear the bark and tie up the skeleton, the mute girl's strength is small, the column stood up several times, and the wind can be blown down.

Ethan Brooks ate his breakfast and covered his face like he was watching a morning comedy and laughed his ass off. The mute girl saw Ethan Brooks laughing at her and swelled her pretty face, kicked her pole down in hatred, and crouched on the ground to get angry.

Deciding not to help, definitely not to help, Ethan Brooks pretended not to see and turned back to continue opening the next coconut. But just as he was about to reach for the coconut that was sitting on the ground, he suddenly felt it wobble.

“What just has happened?”

Reaching down and picking up the coconut, he saw a circle of large black ants, about a centimeter in length, with twenty to thirty of them in a circle right underneath the coconut, except for one ant that was in front of the left side, standing on a large piece of gravel, with a couple of its raised forelimbs still frozen in mid-air.

At this point, without exception, they raised their upper bodies to look up at Ethan Brooks. Ethan Brooks froze, as they looked as if they were frothing as well!

"I won't kill you today, go back and tell your boss that if he needs a bigger appetite! Get out!"

Ethan Brooks narrowed his eyes threateningly. This kind of neurotic behavior, managed to not far away from the angry mute girl to see the poof, pursed lips snickering, but the mute girl laughing, suddenly as if remembering something, big eyes flashed a few times, got up and yanked over a coconut leaf, then turned his back to Ethan Brooks tinkering with it.

Ethan Brooks wasn't paying attention, he was still focused on the ants, and as soon as he finished speaking, the group of ants moved with a huff and a puff, retreating neatly in the direction of the rock face.

Ethan Brooks was only kidding himself. It seems that being close to nature really reveals a different and marvelous beauty.

The ants retreated so quickly that in the blink of an eye, they were gone, and Ethan Brooks didn't even know where their nest was. Of course, he rolled his eyes and didn't care, grabbing the sharp rocks and splitting the coconuts again. Now he not only has to drink the coconut milk, but he can't destroy the coconut shell inside too much, and he has to eat the coconut meat as well as keep the coconut bowl, so that's a lot of trouble too.

But the coconut had just been opened, and Ethan Brooks was about to take a swig and enjoy the flesh when he glanced out of the corner of his eye and saw a dark mass on the ground just to his left.

More piles of black, black ants than just a moment ago, they made a neat square formation in the sand.

An angular, slab-sided kind of square!
