“What do you mean by Sydney is now missing?” I asked, terrified at what I'm hearing from Lydia.

“I went to the restroom and saw her purse on the floor with her phone inside,” Lydia said.

“How is that even possible? If someone had taken her, wouldn't they have to pass through here in order to get to the gate?” I asked curiously.

Aiden shook his head, “No. There is a back gate that is closer to the restroom but it has not been used for years. It should be rusted by now and covered with creeping grasses.”

“There is only one way to find out. Aiden, you will have to show us this back gate,” I said.

Aiden nodded without hesitation. He too looked concerned about Sydney's sudden disappearance. My heart was beating fast as I followed Aiden to wherever the back gate was. We reached there and to our horror, it was broken. The kidnappers must have escaped from there.

Lydia broke down in tears. “How could this happen again? I promised to always keep my eyes on her and I failed!”

I helped Lydia up.
