Chapter Thirty-Seven

Cat got her way Monday morning. She sat in the car with Eric as he drove them to work. Peters and another man, named Wilson, who she hadn’t met before, were in the car behind them.

Eric had told her after his meeting with security last night that he was hiring around the clock protection. Also, one of the safest places for her during the day was the office.

“Oh, so now it’s safe. I’m allowed to go back to work.” Cat stood glaring at him with her hands on her hips. “The next time you want to discuss my safety with your hot shot security guys, maybe include the person you are trying to protect.”

Eric had just gripped the back of her head and pulled her in for a hard kiss. Cat knew it was to shut her up, but after a few minutes, she didn’t care.

They found themselves on top of the lounge with Cat spread out over his thighs and Eric’s hand in her panties. It took them both a few moments to remember that Cat couldn’t for another week. Eric had rested his head against her before saying, “I j
