His lips quivered like he had something to tell nevertheless just like how I did in the washroom inside, I avoided him. My cheeks burned as I can sense his gaze was on me. He was just looking at me and I do not know why!
My eyes were burning and I wanted to cry but damn, I could not. I drank my tears trying to be strong in front of the world. All I wanted right now was just to go away from here and never come back.
Dream job!
Sarcasm hit me, well that it was for me until the morning. I woke up with great and new energy and prepared myself for the interview.
It was my dream to get a place in Array & Thrice company but after today, I just feel like running away and never coming back. Megan was wrong, my boss was not accused by the media in false cases, they were indeed right.
And after seeing Tisha, it was proved he was hiding something that was not known to the world.
My boss has a dark secret which is unknown to this world, and what that secret is... I will explore.
Fifteen minutes passed, Max walked away talking to someone on the phone while the cops asked the security to close all the gates. They were doubtful that the murderer could still be among us and that is why, just within five minutes of their arrival all the gates of the office building were closed shut.
They ordered all of us to stay intact on our places for we were going to be inquired about the murder. A team of seven new and armed officers also walked in and just under fifteen minutes the area that was filled with thrilled and scared employees like me, became investigation center while the officers questioned everyone one by one.
Alas, all of us were in the meeting room while the murder happen and so the cops let us go with lenient inquiry since we had nothing to give them as information.
And as for now, they were standing across Max asking him their questions as after Mia, his secretary narrated whatever happened in the meeting room.
But to our surprise, it nowhere looked like he was being investigated for the murder!
The way the officers smiled and shook hands with Max, it seemed as if they were childhood friends. They talked in a feeble and unclear tone which got me high with doubts.
Were they really investigating him for the murder or were they greeting him?
I looked at the polished white floor in amusement, it was strange as to why were the officers treating him like that when he was supposed to be dragged out of the building by the collars.
"Mr. Stokes, as you see the murder happened after a heated argument between you and the dead victim in an on going meeting, we would request you to head to the police station with us for serious investigation" I was cut off from my thoughts by the voice of one of the cops, he looked like the head of all.
Max, my boss nodded in yes while he pocketed his right hand. "Please cooperate with us." The officer walked further with Max while the other cops entered in the ladies washroom with a stretcher, the ambulance has arrived.
"Oh Jesus!"
"My lord!!"
"May she rest in peace!!!"
The cops brought the stretcher out, with Tisha's dead body resting on it. Although it was covered with white sheet yet her visible arm that was hanging out of the sheet, made me and others cry in pure sympathy.
Tbc...
The day was tiring. The cab stopped in front of my building. I paid the driver and rushed to my apartment. I badly needed a cold shower to calm my brain down. The door was locked it means Megan had still not returned. With shaking hands I somehow unlocked the door with spare key and turned the lights on. Ripping my clothes off of my body, I turned the water tap on.The water was mild and I sank myself in the bathtub. This is my favorite place after my bed. I still could not erase those images off my head."Could Max Stokes really kill her?"This question rotated once withina minute."But he was in the meeting with all of us!"I answered my own question."May be he ordered someone to fulfill his task!"After the good bath of thirty minutes my aching muscles relaxed but the headache became more worse. So after changing into my grey s
Third person's point of view...The alarm rang in the early morning hence irritating Stella's peaceful sleep. It was not that peaceful, yet she managed to fall in slumber after she recalled the good moments of her life as a student.Indeed, college life is the best phase of our lives! It gives us immense memories to rejoice in the future and die happily with them as we grow older. And luckily, those same old college memories only became the reason for her sleep and Stella finally called it a night. She yawned stretching her arms out, her eyes were paining badly. She cried before falling asleep because of some sour memories of her personal life. It was going great recalling the college life until she reminisced that day when her dadda had come to the college with her brother as chief guests.Flashback...The Brilliant Academy, located in the Boston city, was
Stella tried to pull away her hand, she literally wanted to go out of his reach for sometime at least for the time being unless it is not revealed whether he had really killed Tisha or not. Still, the thought of Tisha's blood drenched body lying on the bathroom floor was revolving inside her brain. And his emotionless face after killing a girl was not letting her trust him either."Uh Sir, please leave my hand" Stella wriggled, his grip was tight and the more she moved her wrist between his clutch the more her skin burned as his fingers pressed against her wrist tighter and tighter. " Miss Miller we need to talk come with me "... He said one again while Max yanked her by the wrist. His words sounded more like an order as he pulled her along nonchalantly towards his car avoiding her annoyance towards his act. His car was parked far away from the church hence it was nice on his part as he would ge
Max's point of view... I banged the steering wheel hard in frustration. After driving off from the cemetery. I wanted some piece of mind after that argument with Stella. I don't know why but her words were affecting me. Her suspicious eyes got me irritated while her words rang in my ears. I admit that I am a jerk but I really did not kill Tisha. Everybody knows how and who I am and really don't give a fuck to the world however her eyes, they dared to mock at me even though she did not utter a word. She judged me without seeking an explanation. That is true I am not a good guy, I gave many secrets kept hidden from the world yet it gives her no right to look at me like that! Gosh, I why do I feel so affected. No, no Max, don't let her affect you. She is not supposed to be affecting you!Don't forget that you have not brought her in your life for pampering her, yo
Third person's point of view... The sharp edge of the broken bottle pierced Maria's skin and blood gushed out of the slit that she made on her neck by herself. The moment was filled with mixed emotions of agony, grief and sadness. Looked like the time just stopped. Maria cried blocking the view of her brother's face once she shut her lashes together at the pain growing in her neck. "Maria!" Max almost stumbled with his step and fell on Maria's step while he attempted to pull the broken bottle from Maria's hand. He quickly snatched the broken bottle from her hand. Throwing it on the floor he gritted his teeth along the noise of shattering bottle. It broke on the floor in tinier pieces than the brown glass table. Huffing between his red angry eyes, Max placed a tight slap on her face. "Are you crazy, what if something has happened to you? Not about yourself but at least think about me, Maria Stokes!" he screamed
Max glanced himself in the big mirror that came in his way towards the drawing room. That was where Kevin has taken Stella to wait until he arrived. He combed his hair with fingers and attempted to flatten the creases on his coat. Maria had her fingers curling under his coat to strongly that visibly crumbled creases can be seen clearly. Max was fidgeting to flatten them when his eyes landed on the coat of white shirt inside the coat. "Shit!" there was blood, Maria's blood. It must have soaked within his shirt when she was cuddling him possessively. Max thanked his luck and decision for having looked in the mirror before appearing across her, other wise she could have noticed that too and doubted him way too much since he was not injured at all. He does not want her to see him in condition that would make her feel suspicious of him. Not at least at the moment when he can't wait to see her begging to him for the job.
Max's point of view...Just as the sun gave its visit, my eyes opened feeling the warm rays of it falling my face. I can't hold my excitement of seeing her face after going to the office today. Quickly throwing the blanket on the bed beside me, I stretched my arms sitting straight on the bed, shirtless. The cool and chilly winds coming from the air conditioner hit my skin and making my morning joyous. Leaving the bed with a yawn I removed my office wear and placed them on the bed while I dashed in the wash room with a towel. The warm drops of water falling from the shower overhead soothed my skin. It felt like all the sluggishness and exhaustion was spurting out of my body and combining with the water before it slipped off me. I pressed my hair behind letting the water fall on my face. I don't remember as to how many days did I waste to search Stella Miller, the mafia king's daughter. I worked d
16Third person's point of view... After Stella bought him the cup of coffee, Max forced her to sit in the chair and write an email for him. He dictated her the words while she, as his robot, typed the words in the laptop without looking up at him. "We shall provide you with the calculations of the same, once your company has abided with the rules." Max dictated, the sound of the clicking keys of the laptop rung along with his voice in the room. He smiled with a poker face, watching how she resisted him. Her expressions, those expressions were irritating. He can sense her feeling annoyed and vexed from time to time still, Stella did not utter a word in protest. "Hey, erase the last paragraph, I think it is not threatening. Shouldn't it look like the boss has sent it?" Stella widened her eyes as a sigh escaped her lips. "What? Don't stare me and do as I say. When
