Skye's POV
She is the one. The most feared that I had often heard about and I had no idea she was in the crescent pack.
Her beauty was no denial and way more exquisite than I have heard.
The raindrops on her clothes clung to every contour of her body.
When my wolf had taken charge, I knew I was in trouble.
"Mate." He echoed in my head.
Unwillingly, I found myself lowering my sword. My wolf didn't want to go heads with her, he wanted her close.
But, she was indifferent. She swung her sword sharply, but I was able to averse from the cut in a nick of time.
She fought well, but wasn't making proper calculations of her moves. Having scolded and kept my wolf in check, I had control of myself again and could tell her next move.
She had this fire to kill in her. Something raw was driving her to that point.
In an attempt to behead me, I flung her sword aside and trapped her to a tree, both hands held tightly in mine and my sword placed underneath her jawline.
"Let go of me," her voice came out coarse, but still soft in the ears of my wolf as he leaped in my head in excitement.
"Just this one time," I said, close enough to her ear.
With a howl, I made a signal for the pack to retreat.
Ava's POV
"Just this one time," it came to me like a soft caress that tingled my senses.
In all my years of fighting and living with men, I had forgotten I was a woman and tonight I was reminded of that.
I was reminded I was weak, my emotions were weak, and getting the better part of me tonight, in a battle I'd been waiting for. I felt truly disgusted at myself.
I was in my room when uncle Phil came in.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
I pressed my hair smoothly behind my head and nodded.
"I saw you fighting the alpha of the blood moon pack," he said.
I stared into an open space. He was an alpha?! He fought very well and was no weakling like other alphas I've slayed.
I shrugged. "What does it matter? I've fought alphas before."
Uncle Phil stared at me, long enough for me to avert my eyes.
"Did he say something to you?" He asked.
I looked at him and then away. How could I tell him?
So uncle, the alpha of the blood moon pack is my mate and I am his. What a glorious union, right?
I shook my head. "No, he did not."
He patted my shoulder and had a relieved look on his face.
"I'll leave you to rest," he said and I nodded watching him leave.
Sooner than he left, Fernandez walked in.
"How are the people doing?" I asked. I was worried about my people. Many were badly hurt.
"We've lost two of the warriors already alongside those who fell at the hands of the archers. We've lost a total of ten today," he calculated.
I shook my head in remorse. If only there was a way to make us stronger than ever.
If this continues, we'll be outnumbered in no time.
In a few weeks to come, I was to be ordained as Queen of the pack. I hoped to have a better judgment of my people and their interests at heart.
"You're bleeding," Fernandez said, drawing my attention to my hand.
I shrugged it off. "It's just a scratch."
He walked to the cabinet searching for the first aid kit.
"It's not just a scratch, Ava, it could get an infection," he said.
"It will heal," I assured him. He disagreed with me despite knowing we could heal ourselves.
He found the kit and reached for my hand.
"It's fine," I said, rather impatiently, I wanted to be alone.
"No," he insisted taking my hand forcefully.
"It's fine!"I said more loudly than I wanted. He let go of my hand.
"I was only trying to help," he said, walking away.
I sighed in regret. I didn't mean to hurt his feelings. He was only trying to be a good friend.
"Fernandez," I called after him.
He turned and smiled. "Goodnight, my Queen," and with that, he was gone. He addressed me so formally and I felt terrible.
I have never yelled at him before. I groaned and fell on the bed hoping this night could fade away, but all I could think and see were a pair of hazelnut eyes.
Skye's POV
I had heard tales of her conquest, but I didn't imagine her being from the crescent pack.
I wasn't about to let the tale of her slaying my people to reach any inferior pack.
Robin stood in front of me disapproving of my actions of letting her go.
"You should have killed her, Skye. That will put the crescent and other packs in their place!" He vents out.
I ignored him, hoping he would go away.
I didn't have a reasonable explanation to give him about sparing the enemy's life. I couldn't possibly tell him she's my mate.
"You're becoming weak!" He yelled out, which annoyed me and in a flash without him noticing, I flung the pocket knife that lay on the table at him, aiming above his head.
He stared at me in shock.
"That's to let you know who still remains the alpha," I said in a condescending tone.
"I'm sorry," he bowed slightly and walked away.
I was angry at myself, angry at the fact that I couldn't stop recalling the events of earlier on in my head.
I was also very angry at the universe for making her, my mate. It was just the other day, when I said I didn't want to have anything to do with a crescent, and now, the ancestors have decided to punish me by granting a wish I didn't ask for.
I could reject her, of course, I was going to reject her. I wasn't and wouldn't be the first or last to do so, but my wolf screamed no!
He wanted her more badly than I did.
"She's the enemy," I reminded him.
"I don't care. I want her," he lashed out at me.
I groaned. I hoped and pray I didn't have to meet her again, but I spoke too soon.

Ava's POV I searched the training field for Fernandez, but I couldn't find him. I asked my uncle and a few warriors about him but no one had seen him.I blamed myself. Maybe I was too harsh on him that's why he skipped training.I walked towards the river giving up hope of seeing him for the rest of the day, till I saw him throwing rocks into the river. "Fernandez," I called out, hurrying towards him. "Fernandez," I called him again. He turned in my direction. "At your service, my queen," he said so formally and I hated myself more. I punched him lightly on his arm. "Why the formality?" I asked. He looked away. "Nothing," he said. "C'mon, Fernandez, I'm sorry," I apologized. He shook his head. "You shouldn't apologize, you're the queen and have every right to yell at someone inconveniencing your space," "Stop that, Fernandez. What I did was wrong. You've been my best friend for so long and I shouldn't have reacted that way to you. I'm just so tensed up," I said and shrugged at
Ava's POV I rubbed my hands on my shoulders feeling the air more chillier than usual. Daniel had paid for the supplies and we were heading back to camp. Uncle was planning on getting a house in town and I couldn't wait. I didn't want us to keep staying in shabby cabins in the forest. We arrived back to the woods and saw uncle pacing about. "What took you so long?"Uncle barked at Daniel. He shivered. "The Queen was hassled by the alpha of the blood moon pack," he said. Uncle's face hardened as he turned in my direction throwing questions at once. "Did he hurt you? did he say anything to you?" "He said the queen.." Daniel began but I interrupted him knowing what he had to say. "He called me a weakling. The usual taunts of the blood moons." I said signaling for Daniel to leave. He walked away. "I warned you not to leave the camp," he said."I'm glad I did, "I said shrugging off. "Ava," uncle's voice sounded low in a warning. I shrugged off again. "I wasn't hurt, was I ?"I ques
Ava's POV A week had gone by and I haven't come across the mighty alpha of the blood moon pack. Not like I cared, but mainly because I stayed around the camp training and doing things to get him off my head. Uncle stuck to his words about me staying with the pack and I couldn't do anything about it.But today, I didn't obey. I wandered off the side of the river where the pack was. The snow that fell the previous night became too steep for my feet to bear. My wolf was eager to come out.For years, I've kept her hidden inside of me, but today, I couldn't. She loved the snow and being the only pure white wolf of the pack, she blended well with it. Falling to my knees, my bones cracked with a howl escaping my lips. It was more painful than I remembered and I was quite sure it was because I never transform into my wolf form often. The hairs on my body stood out and grew out more, and sharp claws sprung out of my fingers and toes. Longer canines sprouted from my mouth and in an instant
Ava's POV "Finish him!" Fernandez yelled out, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. With one look into those red eyes, I felt lost. My wolf couldn't bring it upon herself to kill her mate but rather, had ordered him to leave. They all looked surprised seeing me in my wolf form.I retreated into the forest where I had pulled off my clothes and shifted back to human and returned back to the cabin. Here I stood now, facing the wrath of my people for letting the alpha go. Their surprised look at my wolf form was gone and replaced by the anger of not shredding their arch enemy to pieces. Fernandez's voice came the loudest. "How could you have let such an enemy go free! You had the upper hand and should have killed him!" He vented. "He spared my own life on the first fight. It felt right to do the same and be even," I tried justifying my actions. Why was he so mad anyways? "To be even? Oh, please spare me that," he said with a continual raising of his voice. "Fernandez, what's wrong w
Skye's POV The mind link we shared since we became mates wasn't strong yet, but I could feel her presence around. Just then, I saw her having a conversation with Phil.I walked down to the corner of the street knowing fully well she was going to take that lane. Was I stalking her? I asked myself countlessly, but my wolf, Eros kept saying I was only looking after our mate.A little correction there, his mate cause I wasn't ready to accept her. neither was I sure I was going to reject her.Just like I predicted, she walked towards the narrow street and I pulled her into the darkness. She wriggled in my arms in a futile attempt to escape me. I chuckled. "Stop struggling," I said. She realized it was me and said in a muffled voice. "Let go of me." I took away my hand from her mouth and she started ranting. "You bastard, how dare you..." I placed my hand on her mouth shutting her up before she continued her rants. "If you don't stop your foul words, I'll keep you in this position ti
Skye's POVI walked into the house and Ria, one of the pack members greeted me and took notice of my bleeding lips."You have a cut on your lip, alpha," she said.I touched my lips and stared down at the stain of blood on my fingertip. "It's nothing," I assured her.Robin walked down the stairs. "I didn't see you at the parade anymore, so I brought the pack back home." he said as he approached me." Now that you're here, I have a.." he paused when he noticed my swollen lips. "What happened to you?" he asked.I walked towards the sofa and sat down. I signaled to Ria to leave and she did. "I got into a fight at the parade but it's nothing serious to worry yourself about," I said."Who will dare lay their filthy hands on the blood moon alpha?" he asked and from the tone of his voice, he was angry and ready to fight for my sake."Your blood gets too hot over trivial matters," I said to him."No, Skye. This cannot be taken lightly. Just give me the go ahead and that person's head shall be br
Ava's POV I clashed swords with Lucia on the training field. The weather was mild which gave me an advantage. I had ensured that Fernandez was no longer my partner on the training ground cause I was not ready to speak with him. I had decided to get a new partner and she turned out to be Lucia. She swung her sword severally at me attempting to give me a cut on my shoulder but I avoided it by pushing her with my elbow to the ground. She was a pretty rough fighter. As she fell to the ground, I offered her my hand to help her up but she brushed it aside. "If only you had used such skills on the alpha of the blood moon." she blurted out as she stood to her feet. "What?" I asked baffled by her words. "You should have used such skills to fight the alpha, but you wouldn't because he's your mate," she said again without any hint of fear in her."Watch your words, Lucia or it will get you in trouble. I'm still your Queen." I warned lightly."Queen my foot," she scoffed. "A queen that can't d
Skye's POV The night walker pack was quite hospitable to me when I arrived at their pack house. The house was exquisite and the feast hosted in my name was indeed quite fabulous. The ladies in very exposing dresses frolicked around me and were getting me aroused to the disapproval of Eros who was trying to make me understand that we had, I mean, he had a mate, Ava White. A courageous, beautiful, fierce, and an enigma I was struggling so hard to accept as my mate. I wanted to forget her despite my wolf swearing to protect her after finding out she could be in possible danger. I was not yet convinced about the whole thing despite my knowledge that my father never lied. His books were always the truth about life but I still had doubts. I was rejected by my mate, there was no reason I had to stop myself from having a good time. The feast continued till dawn and I awoke seeing two stark naked ladies curled up in my arms. I looked around in bafflement wondering how they got in my bed. T
