Temporary Fix
Thoughts of Clyde and Jenny possessed my mind during the first half of the drive to South Bend. I couldn't shut out the thoughts, at one point I banged the sides of the car in frustration.
"What's up, darling?" Chris asking, reducing the driving speed and holding my hand.
"I just hate the way everything is happening," I said. "My heart feels tired."
"Don't worry everything will be okay," Chris said, withdrawing his hand. "This will all pass and will be forgotten. You're a beautiful and intelligent girl who shouldn't be crying for anyone who doesn't see your value."

Later that evening as I lay on my bed, I made up my mind. I was going to be with Chris and there was no turning back. No words can describe how lonely I felt after everyone I cared about had gone.
