chapter 7

Daniel's p.o.v

My guilty conscience was mocking me for leaving Linda alone. The way her eyes were looking at me melted my heart. The way her chest was rising and falling while she was sleeping in the car was a huge distraction for me. Her pink lips were as if inviting me to chew it. She looked fully like a sleeping beauty.

Everytime she was around, I felt the clock stop ticking. I had forgotten almost everything for a while when I held her waist and took pictures with her. We were just a real couple. There was no denying that she was looking stunning. She looked so happy then. I should not have left her there alone. It was her first time here and I didn't even know where she was. What was she doing?

'But then, why should I care?'

Besides, it was her who wanted to come to the party so she can take her own responsibility and handle herself. But again, she was my wife. She did not seem like someone who would attend parties. She was supposed to be with me right now and yet I was here sitting with Rose.

"Baby so what do you think?" Rose said, breaking my chain of thoughts about Linda. Fuck, I was not listening to her all this time.

'What should I say?'

She could skin me alive if she came to know I was not paying attention to her since the beginning.

"Um yes." I replied apprehensively and hesitantly looked at her. For what did I agree? I did not even know myself.

If looks could kill then I would have been dead by now.

"Daniel, were you even paying attention to me?" She asked furrowing her eyebrows.

'No.'

"Yeah baby." I scratched my neck. Thankfully, I was still sitting there alive.

"So you actually gave me the permission to cut my hair?"

she was amused and I was bemused.

'Did I?'

I loved her hair and I just agreed to let her cut it.

But her hair could not be compared to Linda's hair. Rose's hair was long but not silk, smooth and shiny like it was for Linda. My eyes roamed the place in search of her once more. Basically, my body was with Rose but my mind elsewhere.

'What the hell?'

I was thinking about her once again. I should be happy I was with Rose. I had gotten the chance to spend my night with her. Then why the fuck was I pondering about Linda?

"Daniel, where are you lost?" She pouted.

"Yeah. Yes I think you should shorten it. I mean you should try some new styles. You are a model. Do whatever you want. I will love you in every look." I kissed her forehead. I had no other options than to say yes. If she came to know I was not paying her attention, she could cause chaos. I was not bad mouthing her. Everyone has a darker side and she had hers as well. Yet, I still found her to my liking.

She then hugged me and placed her head on my chest. I embraced her back. After such a long time we were in the arms of each other . I breathed a sigh of relief and closed my eyes.

"Was it necessary to bring her here tonight, Daniel?" She questioned and I opened my eyes instantly. I knew who she was talking about.

"Rose, I'm here with you and no one is disturbing us, that's the most important thing right now. Let us forget about her."

She must be feeling insecure.

After that, I cracked some jokes to keep Rose's mood on.

Some time later, her phone beeped and she excused herself saying she was going to the bathroom.

Weird!

Meanwhile, my eyes searched for the woman whose thought was still stuck in my mind. Linda! I stood up to go to look for her. I hoped she was still there where she was left.

Just then I saw her dancing with an unknown man.

What the fuck!

His one hand was on her waist and the other was holding her hand firmly. They were too close. She was looking so happy with him. I did not know what that bastard said to her until she started laughing.

'Did she get someone here or did she already have one?'

I told her to find someone and enjoy herself but did not hope for her to actually do it. Proving me wrong has become a trend for her. Or maybe it was me who thought she was different.

My blood was literally boiling. He did not have the right to touch my wife like that. I did not have that authority, but I wanted to smash his face. He was so personable though. I would not mind destroying that good-looking face he was using to flirt with my wife. Just one night and they were clinging to each other to such an extent.

Without any hesitation, I felt myself moving towards them.

"May I cut in!" It was rather an order than a question.

I looked at Linda. Fear! There was fear in her eyes. She was scared of me. For a while, I wanted to wipe that expression and tell her not to fear me but then I realised it was good that she was petrified. She needed to. Totally a devil who wore a mask of an angel.

But right now I needed to get rid of the man that was still holding Linda's hand and waist. She was my possession and I hate sharing what was mine.

The man looked at me perplexed.

'Did he not know Linda was a married woman?' My eyes went directly at Linda's left ring finger. Her wedding band was missing. So, that was what she was. An attention-seeker. I did not know what took me and I lost my rag.

"Don't look at me like that man, I'm asking what's mine, my wife."
