ADRIENNE’S POV
I stare at Nick’s hopeful eyes and desperately wanted to give him the answer he searched for, but that wasn’t happening.
“Sorry Nick, I promised to go with the girls, Aileen and Kathie” I answer with a sad expression but that wasn’t the case for him. His expression still seemed hopeful, like he had another plan.
I kept giving him a quizzical look, this time he’s giving me a mysterious smile.
“What did you do Nick?” I feel like he played dirty.
“Since it’s still Derek’s day, I got him to tell me to tell you to accompany me to the party. So that’s literally like his wish.” He says now smiling brightly, given the hilarious expression on my face.
“Nick! That’s cheating. Well played” I say while standing up

ADRIENNE’S POVI was seated on the opposite side of Kathie and Christian as my mind wanders off. Nick had told me earlier that he wasn’t perfectly sure Alec remembered all that had happened Saturday night and I couldn’t help but wonder to what extent he remembers. I mean we had literally shared a kiss and it wouldn’t be fair on my part to remember that moment all alone.After Saturday night, I had avoided Alec like a plague. I guess I couldn’t bring myself to have a conversation with him yet or even stay within the same space without my eyes drifting back to those wicked lips of his.He did show up for some of the classes we took together and whenever we made eye contacts, he had a questioning look on his face. But I, for now, didn’t have any answer to them. So I just stare at my food and pick on it, which was odd of me since fries was one of my favorite.

And in a few minutes, I was standing in front of a well-furnished wooden door while hoping Nick wasn’t asleep. I knock twice on the door and on getting no response, took the initiative to let myself in.I walked into a dimly lit room with only one out of four lights on.
