CHAPTER TWENTY FOUR: The Past

My phone rang, and I checked the caller ID showing "BASTOON Chairman."

"Hello," I answered.

"Hello, sweetie. How have you been?" the voice on the other end asked.

"Fine. It's been quite a long time. I'm very sorry for not checking up on you all this while," I apologized.

"Well, that's not a problem. Everyone has their own reasons. But when you got back and wanted to make use of my company, you should have informed me first.”

"I'm very sorry about that, and I promise I will free my schedule and personally find time to visit you.”

"There's no need to free your schedule. I already sent my secretary to pick you up at the station, but she just called and said you left with someone. Currently, she’s following your car. So just follow her back here, and let's have a discussion.”
