The pills

"He was here last night," Mina let out and looked at Emma who was standing by her side, placing the Orchids in the vase with a subtle smile on her lips. She was happy for Mina.

Emma was aware of Mina's intense desire to be a mother and have babies, but despite several tries, misfortune always prevailed and Mina was unable to conceive.

"Who?" Emma asked softly, not understanding to whom Mina was alluding.

"Your hus-" Mina paused for a moment to collect her thoughts before speaking. "Mr. Smith. He was here last night."

Shivers ran down her spine hearing his name. Emma's smile faded and her body froze, fingers still clasping the fragile flowers. She gazed at Mina, puzzled, and her palms grew cold with fear. Seeing the obvious dread on Emma's face Mina gently grasped her hand and drew her onto the bed.

"The doctor tried reaching you but he answered the phone. Don't worry, we're okay. He meant no harm. Frankly speaking, we might have had some difficulties if he hadn't shown up."
