Seeing Vanessa struggle with the paint bucket was a sight to see. She grunted as she tried to pull the lid off, making me laugh.

“Oh, you think that’s funny? Why instead of laughing, you don’t help me open this darn thing?” she asked, her hand on her hips while she tapped her foot on the floor as a sign of annoyance.

“No problem, beautiful,” I replied, grabbing my metal bucket opener and easily taking the lid off. She scoffed, snatching the lid off my hand before she put it down. I held my lips into a thin line to not laugh. She looked lovely.

“You didn’t tell me there was an easier way to open it.”

“You didn’t ask.” I chuckled, shrugging my shoulders. Pouring some of the paint on the tray, Vanessa picked up the paint roller and started doing the job. She had chosen a lavender color for her living room, saying it will make it look bright and alive. I could
