Presenting the speech, that I just gave Gabe, is usually uncomfortable for me. In the past, sharing my story came after someone witnessed me do something that defies the laws of nature and science. I often feel like I need to explain myself, like I have done something wrong. I didn’t get that feeling with him. He listened to me intently and held me close as I continued to power through my story.
When I finish talking, I am sitting cross legged leaning into his chest, and he has both arms wrapped around me. He shifts his body slightly turning his head to the side so that he can get a better look at me. He brushes my hair behind my ear and putting his hand behind my head he pulls me in and kisses me. “I’m glad she did.” He says. “Me too” I smile at him.
I bring my hands up to his face and scratch at his beard gently, it’s softer than I thought it would be. My hands
Christine’s sudden appearance, though it created some frustration for me and pissed Theo off, was good for Hannah. When she was telling me about her experiences and always having to move on after her abilities are discovered, I was concerned that she would feel like she has to do the same this time. Now that I have her, there is no way that I am going to let her go. I will do everything in my power to make sure that she is safe.Christine coming to my house and talking to her seemed to put her at ease, and I hope that if it comes to it, Christine will be a huge advocate to convince her to stay. I know she is afraid of the outcome of learning the origin of her abilities. I can’t blame her, I couldn’t imagine how traumatizing it would have been if I found out I was a werewolf just out of the blue with out warning. I just can’t help but think that it is more than just a fluke that she is who she is.
I can’t believe that Gabe, the kind of guy you picture in your head when you think of your typical tough guy, the one that doesn’t invest as much in romance as he does work on his truck and drinking beer, just said that to me. The benefit of being me is that I know it was the truth. I felt it in every word. Maybe he is right, maybe I should look more into finding out what makes me the way I am.“Hannah, I know that you are afraid if you go digging you might not like what you find, but Gabe is right.” Lily tells me. “He isn’t going to let you leave, and he really is prepared to do whatever it takes to protect you.” I’m still latched on to Gabe with my head buried in his shoulder as he walks us back into his bedroom. “Lily, I really tried to fight it” I tell her. “I know you did, but there was no reason to. This is where you are supposed to be.”&nb
She really does have a way of explaining things in a way that puts Theo at ease. In uncomfortable conversations he is usually pacing back and forth agitated and irrational, and her words remind me of the love that my parents had. “She actually takes my perspective into consideration” Theo tells me, and I can tell that this brings him joy. He has a point, I doubt any other human would understand the dynamic between a wolf and their human.“I mean, she did call me handsome that day on the highway when we ran out in front of her car” he brags.“She hasn’t called you handsome, so I’m obviously her favorite” he chides. I chuckle at this. She cocks her head to the side eyebrows furrowed so I tell her what he said.“He might be on to something” she teases. I tackle her onto the bed grabbing both of her hands and pulling them above her head I use my other ha
I could tell Theo was hurt by me asking him to give Gave control and that bothered me. That’s why I asked Gabe to let me try to talk to him. I knew Theo was hiding somewhere because his emotions were a bit subtle. A far step from the horny little shit fighting Gabe for control. As I held Gabe close, I thought of everything that has ever brought me comfort.Floating in the river on a hot summer day, the smell of cookies baking when I got home from school, laying my head on Gabe’s chest listening to his heartbeat. I let all of these memories fill my spirit, overflowing I shared the warmth and comfort with Gabe and Theo. When I could feel Theo’s presence had grown stronger, I apologized to him. As strange as it might sound, I need Theo too. To have one without the other would be wrong, unnatural.I never believed that there was such a thing as good sex. I always thought someone talking abo
“Auntie Julie”, she cried with tears threatening to spill from her bright eyes. “I don’t want to go to that school anymore!” Julie made the monumental decision to be the guardian of her late sister Mara’s beautiful daughter when she died shortly after giving birth to Hannah. Being a mother isn’t easy, even for a normal child and Julie knew this. The problem was that Hannah wasn’t a normal child, and Julie learned when Hannah was very young that she had a strange ability to just know things. As crazy as it sounds, Julie wondered if Hannah was an old soul on some grand adventure coming back again and again trying to resolve some un finished business. She didn’t believe in reincarnation, but there was no doubt that at the very least, Hannah had psychic abilities. “Why not sweetie?”, she asked Hannah as she swooped her up into her arms and sat down on the couch with her in
Greg came in to her life when he brought his sister in law to the clinic for her monthly check up. She didn’t think anything of him at first. She thought he was married to the women he came in with. Hannah was six months old, and Julie proudly hung a picture of her on her desk in the reception area. “Cute baby” he told her looking right into her green eyes. She felt flustered at the intensity of his gaze but politely thanked him and asked if he was excited to meet his own little one. The woman with him burst out laughing when he looked at Julie with a puzzled expression.“Jeez Greg! Leave it to you to hit on someone at the prenatal clinic!” the woman beside him said. “He's my brother in law sweetie, my husband is out of town and Casanova here insisted on bringing me to my appointment. He’s a gentleman I promise.” She managed to choke out through her laughter. “oh lord!,
With everyone in the pack house, I decided that it would be best if I closed myself from everyone’s emotions until I was more comfortable. This is something that I do when I anticipate being in a large group setting. I will start being completely closed off, and then person by person I will open up. Sometimes a person’s emotions are so strong that the intensity is overwhelming.Usually it depends on the context and is entirely circumstantial. Its like when youre listening to the radio and a commercial comes on. The volume seems to have raised significantly, or if you’re watching a movie when the action scene seems much louder than the more somber scene. Dealing with human emotion and the presence of so many, it can be a lot to deal with. The complete absence of emotions assaulting my brain can be helpful when I need to relax, so I decided to wait a while before feeling everyone out.As everyone sta
As Hannah looked around the table at our lively group I wondered if her abilities were overwhelming her. She seemed to be looking at everyone intently. Maybe she is trying to sort through everyone’s emotions, I reasoned with myself. ‘Gabe, listen to her heart rate. It seems different like when she first saw us.’ Theo said. What does that mean? Honestly, I was too preoccupied with the beautiful woman standing in front of me to pay attention to her heart rate. Obviously, Theo wasn’t.‘Her heart rate is always stronger when she looks at us, but when she saw us the first time it was different. Like it skipped a beat synchronizing with ours.’ As he told me this I listened for her heart and heard what he was talking about. As she looked around, first at David and Alicia, then Melissa and Marcus, a slight jump in her heart rate, barely noticeable. ‘It did the same thing
