Her Birthday Present

“Happy birthday, princesa,” he whispered in her ear while hugging her from behind. She didn't answer him back which made him afraid that she might reject his closeness again. That she might refuse.to stay in his embrace but after some seconds, he found her leaning against his chest more.

Flora pressed her back against his front and placed the back of her head against his chest. This felt like the serenity she had been throbbing to feel all this time. The serenity of finding herself trapped in his arms, in his warmth because no matter what she could not deny the fact anymore that she was always going to remain incomplete without him. That he was the completion of her existence.

He tightened his arms around her as she felt her snuggling herself in his body more. They both continued to stand in each other's arms for quite some time in complete silence while peering upward at the beautiful night sky.
