After Elena arrived at the hospital, which was on the second floor of this cement building, the doctor ran a full physical examination on her.

Her health was in pretty bad shape. Except for those needle holes on her arms, bruises on her chest, the doctor also found overlapped bite marks on her shoulders and back. Some of them were nearly cured; some of them were still fresh. Those long blood scratches on her thighs were caused by wolf claws. It seemed like she fought with some fierce wolf repeatedly but lost a lot. And she lost her ability to heal also.

“Were you born with a wolf?” Wolves who couldn’t heal themselves were very rare, nearly impossible to exist. The doctor had to consider the possibility that she had never been blessed with one.

Elena chewed her bottom lip. She was lying on the examination table, eyes fixed on the bored pale ceiling-almost exactly the same ceiling she was facing every day and night back in the kingdom’s hospital.
