Chapter 2~ Chaos at the wedding

RAVEN

It's been a month since papa bombarded me with the news of me getting married and here today I'm getting ready in my white gown to get married to a man whom I didn't even get to meet once.

Everything happened in a jiffy. Papa didn't talk to me properly last month. He just went ahead and started preparing for my marriage owing to the fact that mama wasn't alive to do so. Noah consoled me whenever I broke down into tears due to papa's behavior. His consolation always held two things.

The name Ajax and that he is a threat to my entire existence.

Noah wouldn't further explain anything to me. His face was always engulfed in an unknown fear. I tried learning about Ajax but I couldn't find out anything from the brooding guys all over our house. But I didn't miss the look of fear on their faces whenever I mentioned his name. I couldn't even search it on websites as papa banned me from using any electronic devices till the marriage take place.

I gave a small smile to the make-up artist as she finished decking me up. Standing in front of the full length mirror, I couldn't recognize myself. I always loved minimal makeup which included only a lipstick and eyeliner. Nothing more or nothing less. But today I saw a different person in the mirror. White gown that trailed behind me, a beautiful tiara of diamond and earrings which dangled on my ears. The swell of my breast was prominent and decent as the gown fitted my waist perfectly.

"You look beautiful, ma'am."

The makeup artist said genuinely and I thanked her still in a daze. I never thought I would be getting married like this. The books which I read in my teenage years made me hopelessly romantic. I want an understanding, romantic, composed and supporting character. I don't like the possessive alpha males. I saw mama crying due to papa's over possessiveness. I don't mind protectiveness but sometimes that protection becomes a rope of suffocation.

The door opened with a slight sound and I turned around to find my brother Noah in a black tuxedo looking handsome as always with his curly wavy hair and a charming, flirting smile.

"You are looking beautiful, Raven."

I offered him a small forced smile. He didn't say anything further and offered me his hands. I took a deep breath and placed my hands on his ones. Noah is the one walking me down the aisle as papa refused to do so. He was still angry as Noah said.

"Let's walk you down the aisle, sissy."

He chuckled but I didn't miss the tears lining his eyes. Instead of holding his hands, I wrapped my hands around his torso and hugged him tightly. The dam broke as Noah pressed his face on my head covered with a veil. The makeup artist was smart enough to give us some privacy.

"I never thought the big bad mafia would cry at her sister's wedding."

I tried joking but the shakiness in my voice was utterly visible.

"I'm sorry, Raven. I couldn't stop dad from doing so. But I promise you if Alex hurt you in any way then I'll break his bones and admit him in his own hospital."

I chuckled at his threat and stepped away from him. He wiped away his tears and offered me a big blown smile.

"Let's get going now."

I interlinked my hands with his one and we started off our walk to the wedding altar.

"Boss…there….is.. is.."

Mark, Noah's right hand came running towards us while huffing. Sweat trailed down his face and settled down his neck.

"Mark, breath. What happened?"

Mark glanced at me. A horrified look graces his face as he whispered,

"He is here."

That's all it took Noah to step away from me and run towards the wedding altar. Mark ran behind him as I stood dumbfounded there. My brain was too shock to comprehend anything. Finally picking up my subconscious, I lifted my gown and started fast walking behind them.

I swear I wasn't prepared to see the scene which unfolded in front of me. Papa and all his men were kneeling down on their knees. Their hands raised up. Tons of guns pointed at their heads. I saw the eldest Aragorn sitting on his chair and his eyes glaring in a particular direction. I followed his line of gaze and found a man wearing black tuxedo with a white skull brooch on his chest. My eyes trailed up and clashed with a pair of striking blue. And the shocking fact is that the pair of striking blue is staring right into my eyes. His lips pulled up into a smirk.

And that's when I noticed someone near his chair, kneeling down, eyes at me, hands up in the air and a white tuxedo gracing his body. My future husband is captive of an unknown dangerous man. My heart was ready to leap out of my ribcage as I noticed the similarities on both of their faces. Before I could come to a conclusion, Noah roared out,

"What the fuck are you doing, Ajax?"

Ajax!! The said man who is a threat to me. What is he doing here?

"Hello to you too, buddy. Long time no see. Won't you hug your best friend?"

Noah's face was full of distaste as he stared at Ajax. Does Noah know him? Is he his best friend?

"You are not my best friend, you fucker. Why are you here and why do you have all of them at gunpoint?"

Ajax stood from his seat and I noticed how his muscular body stood at a height of 6'4.

A mocking frown graced his face.

"I'm hurt, Noah. Is this how you are taught to behave with your best friend and…."

His fell on me and what he said next made me want to run back on my feet,

"Your brother-in-law."

Brother-in-law???? Is this man crazy?

"You are not going to marry my sister, Ajax. She is not yours."

Ajax's eyes darkened at his words. He got down from the altar and walked towards Noah. Coming near him, he spared me a glance before looking back at Noah.

"You are forgetting, Noah. She is promised to me not to my brother. She has been mine ever since she was born. And today not even you or your father can stop me from claiming what's mine."

Alex and Ajax are brothers? What the hell is happening? Noah was about to retort back when one Ajax's men pointed a gun at his direction,

"Behave Noah and see your best friend marrying your sister."

His sick smile made me want to puke on the ground. He then tilted his head and looked at me. His feet started taking steps towards me. I wanted to run away but my feet seemed to be stuck to the ground beneath them.

"We are meeting after such a long time, sunshine."

The endearment didn't settle well with me. When he didn't find any response from me, his hands took a hold of my wrist.

"I…I…won't marry you…"

I never stuttered in my whole life but something about this man scared the shit out of me. He again gave me one of his dangerous smiles.

"It's ok. I'll marry you and that's enough for you."

My eyes widened at his words.

"Ajax, let her go. You can't ruin her life."

I tried wiggling out my wrist from his hands but he jerked me forward and I landed on his chest, inhaling his rich cologne.

"Too late, Noah. She is already mine to ruin."

He whispered against the crown of my head. Before I could retort back, he picked me up in bridal style and started walking down the aisle.

"Don't do this. I don't want to marry you. I don't want to marry anyone. Leave me alone."

I tried wiggling out of his hold but he wasn't ready to put me down. In a blink of an eye we were standing on the altar. My eyes fell on the man who was supposed to be my husband. He wasn't staring at me enough rather he was staring at the ground with his hands fisted on his thighs.

"Start the wedding, Father. The groom and the bride are here."

The Father shivered miserably but started chanting the lines along his book seeing Ajax's glare. I didn't realize that I was crying until his kissed the crown my head and whispered,

"Don't cry, sunshine."

I glared at him through my teary vision.

"Do you Ajax Aragorn take Raven Rosette as your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do!"

No! No! I'm not saying that. I am not sealing my fate with this man.

"Do you Raven Rosette take Ajax Aragorn as your lawfully wedded husband?"

I kept mum. I won't say anything. No! I won't.

"ZACK!"

A bullet pierced the silence and I saw my brother groaning in pain, blood gushing out of his thighs,

"Noahhhhh!"

"The Father is asking you something, sweetheart."

I weeped. I weep at my fate, at my life.

"Do you Raven Rosette take Ajax Aragorn as your lawfully wedded husband?"

"I..I…do!"

"Noooooo, Raven."

I sealed my fate. I sealed my fate with this demon. I should have never let my wings grow.

"You may kiss the bride now."

Ajax started leaning down but I turned my face to the other side and his lips attached with my cheek. It was burning where his lips were attached.

"The wedding is complete, fellas. Clap for the new couple."

Ajax yelled at the hundreds of people who were kneeling down with guns pointed at them. No one except his men clapped.

Ajax finally let me down and I didn't hold back and placed a hard slap on his cheek.

"How dare you? How could you force someone into marrying you? You are a bastard, a monster."

I yelled out at him clutching his collars. He gave me a sardonic smile,

"Calm down, wifey. Didn't your brother ever talk about me? Aww! I'm hurt. Ok, no worries. Let me introduce myself."

I stared at him as his eyes turned dark and the rough edge of his voice shocked me to the core,

"You are married to Ajax Aragorn, the boss of Italy. The man whose hands are immersed in blood everyday. The man who controls the underground gangs. The man whose soul is blacker than coal. The man who doesn't bother to think twice before putting a bullet into a skull. The man you were promised to. And the man from whom your dearest brother was saving you.

I'm Ajax Aragorn, the demon of this age. And you are the captive of this demon now.

Sunshine!"
