Chapter 10

She and Astraea lay side by side. Astraea's arm was wrapped around her waist. Freya hums while combing her daughter's hair. She was lulling Astraea to sleep, but she was still awake.

"Do your bruises hurt mommy?" She heard Astraea say. She was thankful that her daughter had spoken because she had been silent for a while. "Did you cry earlier because he hurt you?"She sighed because Astraea hadn't really forgotten what happened earlier.

"No, your daddy didn't hurt me." She said the truth because Zeus hadn't really hurt her earlier.

She wants to slap herself if she hadn't just cried earlier. Astraea wouldn't have thought that Zeus was hurting her. She sighs; remorse is pointless because it has already happened and she can't change it.

So instead of blaming herself, she just put on a wide smile to prove to her daughter that she is okay.

"Mommy, don't give me that fake smile and don't lie to me." She was stunned by what Astraea said and that made her silent.
