Chapter 08

The day went by well and it went rather quickly. After that gym registration, Miles had 3 classes whereas Lucas was free. He had to attend the sports head meeting.

It was 5:30 right now and just like yesterday Miles was in the library, looking at his phone for a call or message from the red-head boy.

This time was different because he actually has his number this time. Soon his screen lit up reaching a screaming ringtone that echoed in the library's "academic book" section. Miles was quick to take his phone out of his pocket.

"Hel...."

"Be at gate in 2 minutes. 1 second late and I'll leave you there."

Before Miles could even reply Lucas cut the call. Miles didn't waste even a second and took his bag, left the book on the table, and ran downstairs.

He was lucky that he was there on time and just when he reached there Lucas's car arrived. Miles was huffing as because he came running and the slightly sharp sparks of pain dancing out of his chest were getting bigger and bigger.

"Get the fuck in now. Do you need an invitation for it." Lucas's angry voice bring him back to reality. He saw he was still standing outside with his hand holding the handle.

"Sorry" he whispered and quickly got in. Miles looked from the rare view and saw how Lucas's face have these twisted lines on his forehead clearly indicating that he doesn’t like the blond, but Miles couldn't understand one thing that if Lucas hate him so much than why did he accept Christopher's offer? I mean Miles said he can manage but Lucas was so nice to him there but in school......

His thoughts once again broke when Lucas's phone ringed. He practically flinched. Lucas took the ear bud installing it on his ear and accepted the call.

"Hello."

"............"

"Yeah, it's done."

"......."

"No. I was there; no such thing has been discussed yet."

"........."

"Yeah, the students have registered themselves, I've told the authorities about the new equipment needed. Mrs. Shell said she'll try to get those to school as quickly as she can."

"........."

"Pleasure sir."

"........"

"Yes sir, I've made new groups, all the students are divided in the group of 5 and the trainers have been assigned to them. Yes."

"......"

"Yes, sir I'm also one of them. But the group I've selected for my supervision is the ones that are weak. I hope I can train them well."

"....."

"No problem, sir. I'll meet you tomorrow at school and will tell you the details."

"....."

"Sure sir. Take care bye." Lucas cut the call only to see a bit perplexed face of Miles looking at him from the rare view.

Miles heard the whole conversation at least what Lucas said. He was shocked no, actually he was scared. A bit or more doesn't matter, what matters is that Lucas just said he had the weak ones under his supervision and Miles isn't blind he knows he is the weakest of all among them.

And the fact that he didn't have much great experience with Lucas since he know him wasn't helping at all. And Lucas clearly told him to be scared of him. Miles didn't know why he will be scared of a boy who is actually younger than him but to be honest Lucas don't look younger at all. Here in between them Miles is weak and dependent whereas Lucas seems more like a cool dude or stud not that Miles see it like its literal meaning.

"Well, your pathetic self, zone's out like this normally or I have the special honours?" Lucas taunted him.

Miles couldn't get himself to even groan in front of Lucas. First, he is in his car and the weather outside clearly isn't suitable for him to get kicked out and secondly, he knows Lucas won't hesitate to punch him back.

"I-I wasn't zon-zoning out." Miles replied going wild over his fingernails. He does that when he is scared to bones.

"And they say I make people uncomfortable." Lucas chuckled ending with a smirk. "You know I actually like you around, you keep my mood up."

"T-Thank you." Miles didn't know that it was a compliment or something else.

"Your weird personality is actually amusing." Lucas laughed at him. "You know when someone needs a thing to laugh about, you are that thing"

"W-Why do you have to be so h-harsh to me always? I-I'm older t-than you." Miles lower lip wobbled. It hurts him, Lucas's words are very harsh, and it cuts deep. No one, not even a single soul behaved like this to him. He has always been people's favourite, but this young man here doesn't like him, and he even doesn't know why.

"So? Should I give you medal for that?" Lucas raised an eyebrow, smirk still persistent over his lips. "I mean not to offend you but look at yourself, how can someone call you a 20-year-old. You look like a fucking elementary school boy, getting happy over small things and getting scared by loud voices."

"I-I.......no body t-talk to me like t-that....." Miles tried but Lucas cut him off by an annoying laugh.

"See you can't fucking talk properly." Lucas looked at him. "Chris likes well build and confident guys I wonder how he made you, his friend."

Miles was zoned out again. Christopher has been his friend since long. He knows Christopher's standards of friendship; Lucas is right Christopher likes to be around people who are confident but Miles he isn't confident. Hell, he can't even stand all by himself.

Is he really making Christopher lower his standards? Christopher never said anything but it's just that he maybe isn't saying it out of curtsy.

Miles knows himself he isn't ever going to get the courage to stand up for himself. He is really making Christopher just pity him.

Lucas can clearly see how his words were affecting the elder. He saw how Miles got zoned out just by him mentioning Christopher's type. Well, what can he say it feels good.

"I see you made friends." Lucas pulled him out of his zone again. Well, he wanted to actually break the boy. One thing he knows now is that it's really very easy to scare the blonde boy.

"Y-Yes." Miles replied. Hating himself more for shuttering.

"Well, they are the losers same as you. One small group of weirdoes playing all together~" Lucas wasn't a bit ashamed of how bold and hurting his comments are. He plans this time from coming to school and going home to build a very scary image of himself in elder's mind to get a better result when he'll make a final blow.

"T-They are not weird. I'm not weird." Miles felt a bit of anger rising in him. The red-headed boy was stepping out of his limits now.

"No weird admits that he is a weird it's common." Lucas mocked him more. He wanted something to happen today. A bit of happiness for tonight.

"What makes you so proud huh? You are just as me, it's just that you have confidence, so you call me weird. Let me tell........" he stopped talking as soon as Lucas pulled the breaks making the car halt in its way. He regretted his words as soon as he saw fuming Lucas.

Lucas pulled the car door open and walked at the back seat taking the blond boy by his arm pulling him out.

"Aren't you talking too much now?" Lucas grabbed his chin not so harshly, but the position alone scared the blonde too much.

"Listen here round glasses." Lucas tapped over his glasses frame. "You better keep your tongue behind your teeth. I don't want to beat the day light out of you."

Miles felt his breath stopping. This is what happens when he tried to be confident.

"Am I clear?" Lucas asked still his hand on Miles's chin. Miles nodded.

"Are you mute?" Lucas asked making Miles shook his head in 'No'. "Then use your words." Lucas yelled.

"Y-Yes." He replied.

"Yes what?" Lucas asked.

"You made y-your clear. I-I un-understand." Miles just wanted Lucas to step away.

"Good boy." Lucas pushed him back in the car and started the engine. Miles was a bit confused on why it was taking them so much time.

"Get out." Lucas asked and Miles did. Lucas called him one more time before pulling the glass up to park the car.

"Y-yes?" Miles asked.

"See you in gym tomorrow." Lucas smirked making Miles gulp. He knew what he was doing. "Sleep well~"

Miles couldn't help but feel scared. He knows Lucas won't go east on him. The way Lucas just said it confirmed it even more.

"What?" Lucas looked at him with that dirty smirk still dancing on his lips.

"Huh?" Miles asked.

"Go now. I'm done." Lucas replied.

"Huh... yeah.... Yes." Miles didn't waste even a second to ran away from the red headed male.

He used the elevator to reach to the place where lives. He couldn't calm his heart which is threatening to beat out of his chest. He adjusted his already adjusted glasses.

He couldn't help but think of all the things. Tomorrow isn't going to be a good day. His condition, Lucas's behaviour and then Christopher. The familiar ding of elevator pulled him out of his thoughts.

He used the card key Christopher gave him to open the door. He forgets the passcode very easily, so Christopher gave him a card key instead.

"I'm home." He whispered actually to no one. It was his habit that he does that whenever be comes back home. He does that always but no one replied because Christopher comes home late.

"Hello. Come on I've baked fish. Hurry up go and change." Miles looked up to the source of voice finding Christopher in apron and a spatula in his hand. "I'm home early today." Christopher added. Miles couldn't help but think of Christopher and what Lucas reminded him.

"I'll be back." Miles said in a low voice walking toward his room. As soon as he got in there he slumped on the bed. His body tired and heat hurting. He wanted to cry.

Lucas? What did the boy have with him? Why was he so rude and harsh on him? He doesn’t want Lucas to like him but at least be lenient to him. That's all Miles wanted.

"Millie?" Another call from Christopher made Miles stand on his foots.

"Coming." Miles pulled his shirt off his body and changed into the loose trouser and shirt that he loves.

He made way to the dining area only to find Lucas already sitting there. He was still in his school clothes that mean he didn't go home yet. Christopher probably have called him before going home.

"Come on it’s getting cold." Christopher pulled him to the seat and sat beside him.

It was silent and Miles was first one to finish. "Here have another..."

"I'm tired. I want to sleep." Miles replied looking at Christopher.

"Aww baby bear is tired. Go on sleep early today. You need anything?" Christopher asked him with pure concern.

No matter what Lucas said but deep down he knew he lied to Miles today. Christopher sure liked confident people, but he loves Miles with all his heart. Miles means so much to him and he knows that since they became friends. He always found Christopher smiling oh so sweetly while talking about the blond guy even before he came here. Christopher truly called the blond his soulmate for like thousands of times.

But Lucas don't regret what he did. Revenge is revenge no matter how you take it.

"Be ready at 8 tomorrow, Miles. I'll come pick you up." Lucas smiled sweetly. Miles just nodded he didn't have courage to look at the boy at front of him. He walked to his room and closed the door.

"Lucas fucking Volkov? Why are you being so nice to him?" Christopher asked as soon as Miles closed the door. He knows Lucas a little too much and Lucas is never nice to anyone unless.......

"Stop right there on whatever you are thinking. He is not my type." Lucas rolled his eyes.

"You better not desire about him." Christopher glared at him.

"What part of 'he is not my type' you don't understand?" Lucas asked shrugging.

"I know you Volkov, you have something in your head."

"Do not call me that." Lucas stood up.

"Or else what?"

"Corbin, you know what can I do. Did you forget last time it resulted as two broken ribs of yours." Lucas wiggled his eyebrows.

"That was 2 years ago. Come at me now bitch." Christopher glared.

"Some other time shorty. I'm tired today."

"Fuck you."

"You aren't my type either." Lucas replied and Christopher have had enough of Lucas he ran behind him, but Lucas was fast to run out of the house.

Whatever they said but the two boys had been together for so long and love each other.

Christopher chuckled and also made way to his room.

Miles's phone ringed making him wake up from his sleep. James was calling him.

"Hello." Miles was happy. This was the time he waits through his whole day.

"Baby boo."

"How are you brother?" Millie asked.

"I miss you."

"I miss you too brother. Where is Cal?"

"Right here." Came the voice of another favourite person.

"Callie, are you taking care to Jammie?"

"Do I have a choice? It was your order, Millie."

Miles giggled. Whole stressing day aside this thine of day is his favourite.

"Have you eaten?" Cal asked him.

"I did. Chris baked a fish and called us."

"Us?"

"Yeah, me and Lucas." Miles replied.

"Who?

"He is Christopher's friend. He lives close to us here."

"Is he a good person?" James asked with concern. He just wants his brother to be in safe hands.

"He....He is." Miles replied after a small break of silence.

"How was your day?" Cal asked.

"It was good. I made new friends." Miles told them. "A boy and a girl."

"Wow. I'm so happy for you Millie."

"I'm happy too." Half lie, half-truth.

Just like that they talked, and Cal and James told him about their routine and the call ended after like an hour. Miles was feeling sleepy or else the call would've gone long.

Christopher and Miles were together. He saw Lucas driving the car and him and Christopher were sitting in the backseat.

"How could they do this?" Christopher huffed in annoyance.

"D-Do what?" Miles asked confused.

"Ahhh, your useless friend." Lucas chuckled.

"You got beaten up Millie. How can you not fight them back? At least you could've punched one of them." Christopher said annoyed and angry. Miles flinched.

"I-I can't fight....."

"Of course, you can't. You are a weakling, Millie." Christopher grabbed both his shoulders making Miles face him. "How could you be my friend."

"I told you he is weak, pathetic and useless. A fucking weakling." Lucas added.

"Christopher....."

"I never say that Millie, but you are pathetic. You can't even protect yourself. How can you be my friend for so long. I'm breaking this friendship here. I can't be friend to someone who is this weak." Christopher replied with disgust.

"C-Christopher.....you aren't actually......"

"I am Millie. I'm actually breaking this friendship. Get the fuck out of here."

Just like that Christopher pushed him out of the fast-moving car.

"NOOOO" Miles jolted up. He was breathing heavily and drenched in sweat. It was a nightmare.

"Millie..." Christopher came running to his room. He hugged his friend oh so dearly.

"C-Christopher I'm not weak. I'm strong. Please......"

"Millie what happened love?" Christopher hugged him. The scream he heard was so terrifying that he came running to his friend.

"Please don't leave me." Miles hugged Christopher tightly.

"I won't Millie. Calm down." Christopher kissed his temple.

"Promise?" Miles asked whispered.

"I promise. Calm down please." Christopher wasn't understanding but now is not the time to ask his friend. Miles needs him more than that.
