Chapter 120

J’s POV

The excitement of going to the office with Lance made it impossible for me to catch a good sleep. I tossed and turned till it was morning.

When I saw the dark circles underneath my eyes, I cursed underneath my breath.

I took my bath quickly and dashed out of the bathroom, wearing a corporate black gown with a matching pair of heels.

Carefully packing my hair into a ponytail, I applied a little bit of make-up and smiled at my reflection in the mirror with satisfaction.

It was my first time following Lance to his Company and I didn't want to make a bad impression. I needed to look perfect and worthy of standing beside such a charming man.

I took one last look at myself in the mirror before leaving my room. Walking down the stairs and into the sitting room.

And then, I saw him!

He sat down on the couch with his legs crossed, totally engrossed in his phone. He was probably attracted by the sound of my heels and he looked up.
