“Prince Asher, its nice of you to visit us,” Malachi said with a smile upon seeing the young man in the courtroom. “How have you been?”
“Very well, Chief Malachi, and you?” Asher asked, following the man softly as he led him to a seat.
“Very good,” Malachi replied, sitting next to him. “Is there a particular reason for your visit?”
“Nope, not at all. I heard from my father that you are having a little party in the council and I decided to invite myself, I hope that is not bad?”
“Of course not, you are welcome here anytime, any day.”
“Thank you. And yes, you should know that Anita is with me, the Blue Moon’s pack alpha’s daughter.”
“Sean’s daughter is welcome anytime,” Malachi smiled and then stood up, “I shall have your rooms prepared,” then he frowned slightly, “and find someone to make dinner for you.”
“Oh don’t worry about me, I am sure I will be filled in the party, as for Anita, she had something before coming.”
“Then, it is settled,” Malachi smiled, “please, enjoy your stay with us.”
“I hope to,” Asher said and Malachi left just as Anita was stepping in. They met at the doorway and with a bow from Anita, he nodded in response before leaving the room. Anita walked up to Asher then and took the vacant seat beside him, scrunching her nose. “What now?”
“Dead plant cell, everywhere,” she sighed.
Asher chuckled, “you invited yourself, remember?”
“As your Beta, I am not supposed to let you go anywhere alone.”
“Females are not betas.”
“Oh please, that mindset has long been vanquished.”
“There is no alpha female.”
“Only a matter of time, trust me.”
“Ha,” Asher scoffed, “I can’t wait to see the day.”
“Trust me. If my father was an alpha before conceiving me, I am pretty sure I would have been born with the alpha powers and not Micah, making me the first alpha female. And who knows, maybe it would teach Micah some respect as well.”
“Oh please, cut the boy some slack. His eighteen, he is in his rebellious stage, not that Micah is even rebellious, at least, not like a certain someone,” he said, glancing at her and she glowered at him, making him laugh. “Seriously, I pity the man that is going to live the rest of his life with you. You are not ladylike at all.”
“Then it’s a good thing that I am still better than all your bimbos. Trust me when I say that I would be giving your mate an earful about your sex-capedes.”
“Trust me, she would like it more because it means that there is no position I won’t give her,” he winked.
“Oh God, please I don’t want to hear about it now,” she covered her ears with her hands and he laughed.
The door was pushed open and a young nightwalker entered. Asher knew she was still very young as she looked to be eighteen, at most, nineteen with the aura he could sense from her. She smiled shyly when her eyes met with his before she bowed softly, “Prince Asher, High Chief wants me to let you know that your rooms are ready.”
“Thank you, uh…”
“Brianda,” she filled in for him.
“Brianda,” he smiled. She was a beauty which he is not surprised about, he has never seen an ugly vampire but there are some who are truly beautiful beyond description and Brianda was one of those. He instantly scanned her features, she had long black hair —the most trending hair color among the vampires— and beautiful hazel eyes. She was petite in nature and reeked of feminine energy, the kind of energy that always leave men wanting to protect her from any harm. “Will you be in the party, Brianda?”
“Of course, my prince. And also, if your need help preparing for the party, I will be more than happy to offer assistance,” she smiled shyly, purposely avoiding his gaze.
“Ah, just tell him you want to fuck him, please. I am tired of the high sexual tension in the air,” Anita groaned with a roll of her eyes.
“Forgive my friend, she has always been so…vulgar,” Asher rushed to say, granting himself a glare from Anita.
“Of course not, my prince.”
“Good, I will be expecting you in my room then, Brianda, to…help me prepare.”
“But of course my prince,” she smiled and walked out of the courtroom then.
“Really, we just arrived and you have already picked a bimbo?” Anita asked.
“Oh come on, would you deny a man his fun? Hmm?” he raised an eyebrow, making his puppy face.
“I just don’t want to hear about it,” she said, getting up and walking to the door. Asher chuckled and went after her, draping his arm on her shoulders as they walked out together while he promised to fill her in with every detail.

Naomi placed the plate of food on the table and her eyes went to the grandfather’s clock in the living room. It was five minutes past seven, she was sure that Justin and the rest of the class were already in the woods or on their way there. Her father wasn’t back yet which was good and so, she quickly cleaned up the kitchen and went to her room to prepare. She doesn’t know but she really wanted to attend the party. Ever since twelve grade when everyone started calling her psychic, she was mostly on her own and hardly attend any parties —not like she was constantly invited anyway— and now, she was invited to attend a party and not just by anyone but Justin.
Justin was the most popular boy in school and not only was he the quarterback of the football team but also the team captain and that alone with his handsome features, made him every girl’s dream and sadly, she was one of them. But she has never imagined herself having anything to do with him. Not only was she the school’s psychic and everyone loves to bully her, she didn’t have the looks to hold down a boy like Justin. With her long black hair and black eyes, she was considered plain as anything plain. Her look wasn’t fantastic and she has always known that, always and because of that, she never embarrasses herself by trying to go after him nor even fantasize about him.
She stared at the rolls of hoodies in her wardrobe and finally settled in a jeans and black blouse, one of the few normal clothes she had been able to lay her hands on in a thrift store. She let her hair down and tried to apply a little bit of makeup, a powder and lip gloss. Something she had found in her father’s room one time when cleaning it. The powder, she constantly used, especially when she needs to hide the bruises on her face but the lip gloss, not so much.
When she was done, she stared at herself, there was no much different, in fact, there was no difference at all and so she wiped the lip gloss off and washed her face in the bathroom. However, when she walked back into her room and stared at herself in the mirror, she noticed her face looked pale and ended up reapplying everything again. Staring at herself, she sighed and left the room, after making sure that the kitchen window was open so that she can climb back in the morning without waking her father up, she left the house.
She didn’t bother going to school and just went straight to the camp ground. The camp belongs to their principal, she usually holds summer camping there and always ask them to volunteer to look after the children with some payment obviously. And it was usually that time, that she would make some money to afford some things she needed.
Arriving at the camp site, there was a big bonfire going on and loud music. Someone had obviously came with their big JBL Bluetooth speaker. Students were dancing around and she found it hard joining and quickly scanned around for Justin. If not for anything, at least let him see her in something different but hoodies and also to know that she came.
“My, my, my, if it isn’t the psychic looking all cleaned up,” a voice said and she closed her eyes and wished the ground would open up and swallow her rather than let her speak with the three she-devils. “What is the matter, why the sudden glow up?”
She turned and came face to face with Rebecca, Trisha and Tiana, the three she-devils of her school and self-proclaimed queen bees.
“So, how was it?” Anita asked as she stood beside Asher, watching the partying nightwalkers.Asher chuckled, “thought you didn’t want to hear about it?”“Well, I would rather listen to it than have you be as silent as you are. We both know you are dying to tell me about it so get on with it.”Asher laughed softly before saying, “you should know that it was not as magical as I had hoped.”Anita glanced at him in shock, “pray tell, what happened? You seemed pretty smitten with her.”“Yeah,” he sighed and brought his goblet of blood to his lips. The vampires are finding it hard to let go of their origin, even the party was like the ball held in Victorian times, exactly like the parties his father throws every single year and he found himself not really looking forward to this year’s own. “She is inexperienced and you know how hard I find it being with inexperienced women. I don’t have the time to be telling anyone to stay this way and that way, so I lied that I came when she did for the
Asher was struck, he has met a lot of human women in his life and have even allowed himself to bed a few during the times Anita dragged him to their realm but never, absolutely never have he felt a form of connection with any of them. And now staring at that dancing but not dancing teenager, he couldn’t help but want to know her. He could feel it deep inside him that she was hiding something, something big and maybe sad. He stood watching them dance, the boy with her was cute, good looking even with his messy blonde hair and he kept running his hand all over her. He didn’t need to be told for he can see that the boy really wants to do more than dance with her, it was very clear in his green eyes.He watched as the boy spun her around once more but he shocked him this time by leaning over and kissing her lips. Immediately, Asher had a growl and turned around to know who had followed him but there was no one and it was then that he realized that the growling had come from him? He was sh
Naomi took an involuntary step back as she took in the size of the wolf. The animal was taller than her, how can they be a wolf taller than a human? Yes, she has never seen a wolf in her life but she had seen movies and even the drawings of them she had seen were never this big. She gulped, the slivery white fur of the animal glistening with the moonlight and right there, even with her fear, only one word appeared in her mind: Beautiful.Yes, the animal was beautiful, the silver fur and the red eyes, right under the moonlight was like a painting, a beautiful painting from the forest. She gulped, her fear momentarily forgotten as she stared at those blood red eyes. She wasn’t moving and the animal wasn’t either and she tried to hold her breath, trying to capture this very moment in her memory even if she ended up becoming food for it. However, despite her thought, she could feel it deep in her bones that it won’t hurt her. Just like she knew it wouldn’t hurt her when she was only sensi
A black shadow suddenly jumped out of the woods and landed on her, she screamed and covered her eyes, anticipating the pain she knew would come. But waited she did and nothing happened and when she opened her eyes, she saw a big sliver fur wolf attacking the shadow. When the man’s corpse was lying on the dirty forest floor, the sliver wolf walked up to her, its red eyes glowing under the moonlight and just then, its mouth moved and it said, “Naomi, wake up.” She stared at it, not believing that it actually spoke but it suddenly lifted its gigantic paw and tapped her head, “wake up I said.”And with that, she opened her eyes to see that she was in her classroom, sitting up, she came face to face with a beautiful set of green eyes and curly blonde hair. The owner of the eyes smiled, “you were really passed out.”Naomi glanced around to see that the classroom was already empty except for her and Justin and she gulped and tucked her pitch-black hair behind her ear. “I’m sorry, I was just
Everyone stopped talking when they noticed the two people walk into the school. They weren’t in any expensive ride but their dressing —black leather jackets and blank pants with black boots— made them very conspicuous and not to mention their unmatched looks. The boy was tall, like very tall and the girl beside him was only tall up to his shoulders. His very black hair was in in slicked back with a few strands let loose and his deep blue eyes stared at them like he could see their souls. The girl’s red wavy hair was very bright like blood and her slightly round face gave her a little baby look but her deep brown eyes spoke of her experience. They were a strange pair and looked so otherworldly but despite that fact didn’t change the aura that sips from them. While the girl gave up a warrior feeling plus a feminine beauty, the boy seemed to have this magnet that pulls people to him and despite the hidden fear in his aura, they couldn’t stop themselves from wanting to get closer to him.
During lunch, Anita sat with Asher in a table, she could tell by how the students were staring at them that they would love to join them, even compete for it but the dangerous arura emanating from Asher was keeping them away. Even she was surprised at why he had frightened them off with his demon aura. She means, he agreed to come to their school after all, and he should know very well that with his looks, it would be hard to keep humans away from him, especially the female species.“So,” she began, taking a bite of her pizza slice, “have you found her yet?” she asked in a tone that only them could hear. With a nod from Asher, a smile lit up on her face, “I knew she would be here, see, if you had told me earlier, we would have spent the three days wandering around in the human realm.”“We had other purpose,” Asher said.“Yeah, yeah,” she rolled her eyes, “anything that would keep you from admitting that you needed my help and it was my professionalism that leads to you finding your mi
Asher watched the girl leaving as he slowly followed her. She has not raised her head for once since she left school and now he could understand how she could bump into Anita and so he decided to watch out for her and protect her from bumping into another person. He has this feeling that the girl was hiding something and also, he still doesn’t understand the meaning of her nickname: Psychic, why would anyone choose that as a nickname? The walk was long and he couldn’t believe that she walked like that every day to and fro from school, isn’t it tiring for her? And besides, why doesn’t she have a car? Almost everyone in the school has a car and those who doesn’t, follows the school bus so why don’t she? Why does she prefer walking? Could it be that she loved stalling for time?So many questions and so little answer, he had spent the whole lunch period sitting beside her and while it was not as calm as it was that night in the woods, he could still feel that her presence brought him calm
The door pushed open and Naomi’s hand trembled but she was able to catch herself to avoid dropping the plate she was holding. She softly placed it on the dining table and gulped before looking up at the man that entered the house. “Good evening, dad. Dinner is ready,” she smiled softly. The man ignored her and strode to the dining, he drew out a chair and plopped down on it, pulling the dish close to him. “Have you had something to eat?”Naomi looked at him in surprise but she controlled her tone and not reveal the surprise in her voice. “I am about to, I wanted to set the table for you first.”“Go get your plate and join me,” he said.“Um…you don’t have to worry, I will prefer eating in the kitchen,” she said and slamming of a fist on the table reverberated in her chest.“Are you my daughter or my house help?” “I’m your daughter, sir,” she rushed to say, not wanting to get on his bad mood.“Good, now go get your plate and join me.”“Yes sir,” she replied and hurried to the kitchen t
