Chapter 6

Celia POV

I walked out of the clinic, carrying the box, when a black luxury car suddenly stopped beside me.

Beta Calvin came out of the passenger seat, saying, "Luna Celia, Alpha Leon wants to talk with you in the car."

I didn't want to and tried to walk around, but Calvin raised his hand to stop me.

"Luna Celia, please get in the car."

Unable to avoid him, I reluctantly got into the car.

I took out my phone and looked through it.

Cynthia had shared a photo on social media, capturing the moment I entered the car.

The text was, "No wonder Celia left so happily! It turns out she hooked up with a rich man! She doesn't care about this job at all! That man looks like he's in his sixties? Gross!"

Replies quickly followed.

"Sixty years old? She's in a relationship with an old man about her grandfather's age? I'm going to throw up just thinking about it!"

"Holy crap! Could Celia be a home wrecker?"

I raised an eyebrow shared a video with our work chat group.

In the video, Cynthia was seen sneaking into the file room, moving all the documents to a hidden room. She intentionally used a bookshelf to block the small door of the room and left.

Besides, she had secretly replaced Karlee's project proposal with other files.

The next moment, Karlee's message popped out.

"Celia! This is incredible! You're amazing! How did you get that surveillance video? Cynthia was fired on the spot!"

I replied to her with a cute emoji and didn't say anything.

I lifted my head and glanced at the man sitting next to me. Leon hadn't looked up since I got on the car; he didn't even glance in my direction. He remained focused on his phone, his face indifferent.

The sunlight streamed through the window.

Leon put away his phone, staring at me.

"What are you wearing?"

"Oh, this is your shirt. The maid gave me a dirty one this morning, so I had to wear yours," I glanced down and said.

"Did you ask for my permission?" Leon asked.

I rolled my eyes and muttered, "Do I need to? What a stingy man!"

Besides, I didn't have his phone number.

Leon frowned.

"What did you say?"

I smiled politely, "Alpha Leon, do you want to see your Luna on the news for streaking on the street?"

Leon squinted.

"I don't care."

I gritted my teeth.

"Then I'll take it off now and give it back to you! I'm getting out of the car right now and running naked down the street, yelling that I'm Alpha Leon's Luna as I run!"

Leon said coldly, "Sure, take it off and go ahead."

I hesitated for two seconds.

"Fine!"

Calvin, sitting in the passenger seat, looked complex, motioning the driver to pull over. He and the driver got out of the car, standing aside.

I pulled a straight face, grabbed the hem of the white shirt, and slowly pulled it up.

Leon visibly froze.

Suddenly, the car door was pulled open, and sunlight and cold air rushed in.

Before I could react, a strong force pulled me abruptly.

Everything went dark, and the man's intoxicating scent, a mix of woody fragrance and the tobacco-like musk, filled my nostrils, making my heart race.

Leon reacted swiftly, almost instantly grabbing the coat he had taken off earlier and covering me.

"Oh... I'm so sorry, Alpha Leon..."

The man stammered.

Leon held me tightly in his arms, coldly raising his eyes.

"Get lost!"

The car door was swiftly shut.

I was being hugged too tightly, almost unable to breathe. I poked my head out from under Leon's coat, frowning and saying, "Alpha Leon! I can't breathe!"

Leon lowered his head, looking at me.

Regaining his composure, he let go of me, sternly commanding.

"Put on your clothes immediately! You are now the Luna of the Black Mist pack, and your every word and action represents our pack. Don't take off your clothes in public anymore."

I was speechless.

It was him who let me take this shirt off!

I rolled my eyes.

"So, does this count as getting your permission, Alpha Leon? Can I wear your shirt now?"

Leon furrowed his brows slightly.

"Put it on!"

Leon didn't look at me again and turned his face away.

I had already put on the shirt, but because the window was slightly open, I felt a bit cold. So, I decided to put on the coat Leon had just covered me with.

I was staring out of the car window, bored, when I heard Leon's deep and mature voice.

He said, "I heard you lost your job."

I replied coldly, "Yes, thanks to you."

Leon flipped through the folder in his hand.

"I gave you all a chance, but you made mistakes that shouldn't have happened. According to my standards, that proposal didn't have investment value."

I was feeling a bit tired, yawning.

"Alpha Leon, you don't need to tell me the reasons."

Leon raised his eyes, looking at me. "If you want to find a job, I can..."

"Please pull over to the side up ahead."

I interrupted Leon, peering out of the car window and noticing something.

As soon as the driver stopped the car, I opened the door and got out.

Taking brisk steps to the front bus stop, I hopped onto the bus that had just arrived.

I found a window seat and made a face at Leon.

He slowly rolled down the car window, seeming a bit annoyed, but I found it extremely amusing.

The bus slowly pulled away.

I took the bus back to the Dark Moon pack to pack my things.

Next, I had to cooperate with Leon and stay in the Black Mist pack for three months. I couldn't keep wearing his clothes all the time.

I told my dad that I rented a place because of my internship and wouldn't be coming home for three months. He was happy that I was becoming independent and agreed without much hesitation.

The next day.

Around noon, I came downstairs and saw Tamia helping an old lady onto the sofa.

"You must be Celia," the old lady scrutinized me from head to toe.

I guessed she was Leon and Tamia's grandmother, Jazlene. She used to be the most respected Luna in the Black Mist pack. I had heard about her before, and now I finally got to see her.

However, Jazlene's gaze was unkind.

"How dare you bully Tamia? It seems your family didn't teach you how to behave! From today onwards, you are confined to your room for reflection!"

Tamia, smug, leaned against Jazlene.

"Grandma, are you hungry? Have a piece of this cookie."

"Wait, Luna Jazlene, you can't eat that!"

I quickly intervened to stop her.

Tamia dissatisfiedly said, "Grandma, just eat. Don't mind her. I've already had several pieces this morning. This is really delicious."

It was too late. Jazlene took a bite.

Suddenly, Jazlene's face turned purple, her eyes bulging, and she struggled to breathe.
