♧Chapter Sixteen; THE FLAMING SERPENT♧

She woke up with her face buried deep into his chest, her left arm slung around his hips. He lay dead asleep beneath her while she savoured the occasional rise and fall of his chest beneath her head. She popped her eyes open only to immediately shut it afterwards as they were having difficulty adjusting to the rays of the early morning sun that peeked through cracks in the thick velvet curtains.

Letting out an unladylike groan, she twisted and turned in her position. The upper half of her body was glued to his, the other half tangled in the silk bed sheets. Her movements caused him to stir, tightening his grip on her. His arms were inter locked around her lower back, he was no doubt still deep in sleep.

June however, was awake but her mind was foggy. She lifted her head and placed her chin on his chest, cracking open her eyelids to look at him. His lips stayed parted as he breathed through them, his hair a mess like hers but it looked knee weakening good on him. His head was lolled a
