Chapter 15

"What happened, La-van-yaaa???" Vansh sang. Was it their plan? To scare me?

If yes, then they surely succeeded. Those horror movies are less scary than this.

"You forgot that today is your first night? " Harini blinked her eyes like a chinese doll. Innocence dripping her voice.

So this is the reason why i was asked to change in this red saree and put make-up, after the dinner. Such a waste!!

"You all are still here? Leave all of you now." The three ran as Dadi spoke in her stern voice. Revti aunty behind her. "Lavanya, take this milk and give to your husband when he comes. Okay?" She hands over me a glass of turmeric milk. I take it and smile back at her.

I enter the room with a deep breadth and sigh looking at the decorated room. Scented candles lighted the room and made it feel like a heaven. The pink petals covered the bed and fairy lights decorated the walls. Moon light illuminating from the window made it all pretty.

It looked ...lovely.

I keep the glass of milk in the side table and move to a specific wall that was decorated with photo frames. Just like i had back in my home. I immediately chuckled when i noticed Vansh acting to stangle Abhishek's neck as the latter sat in a chair.

How did i not noticed Abhishek's photo in any of the frames till now? Because you were least interested in some fictional character!!

Ofcourse Abhishek was a fictional character for me. Everyone here will just talk how handsome their son was, how he used to make fun of Vansh and his life was in his sisters. Blah blah blah... Even when they asked me to meet him while he came on his holidays, i would myself be busy with dad and then Trisha.

Moreover the thought of meeting a stranger, didn't settle with me.

My gaze fell on a specific frame. It was of Abhishek when he was in school. He had the school white jersey on. He was holding a trophy with our sports teacher, he had a big grin. He'd probably be 14 at that time.

There were so many pictures of him with all his family. It seemed every picture had a story behind it. The door creaked open and i turned to find Abhishek with a bewildered expression.

Similarly like mine!

"What have they done??" He muttered under his breath as he closed the door behind him. He was clearly upset with the way his room was used as a bollywood set.

"They didn't even spared my bed!" He exclaimed. I cleared my throat and he finally got aware of my presence. "Oh you are here. You can go and change, while i clean this mess." I nodded at him and he opened the white lights.

I turned to my bag and took out a simple tee and pants before going to the washroom. After i came back, i noticed only scented candles were liting and all of the decorations were taken down. Though few patels still sticked on the bed. I sat in the sofa and cracked my fingers and neck while Abhishek was setting the pillows.

"You are sleeping on Sofa?" He asked.

"No, i'm not." What if i fall down? I was not deep sleepy person but i needed a fair space to sleep.

"Then on floor?" I looked at him as if he had grown some horns over his head. He was controlling his laugh. Ohhhh....

"I will sleep on bed, while you on the floor." I replied walking to bed and sat cross-legged. "I do pity your spine, but there is no choice left for you."

"Its my room. My bed. And My right!"

"Tell this to your mom, and i will happily sleep on floor." Where this new-gained confidence came from?

Maybe my childhood experience of falling from the sofa and injuring my forehead, was still a part of me.

"We can share the bed, can't we?" He asked with hope and i nodded. What if he falls too? Who will take care of him?

But then you will get a week more here.

And then share the room with him? No thanks.

He grinned and left to change his clothes. I pulled the black band of my pony and my hairs fell on my back. What a relief!! I laid on my side of bed and covered myself with a duvet.

Good night dad.

"Your husband, Abhishek, was our classmate. Wasn't he?" I nodded my head at Trisha who behaved like a ten year oldie who beamed with happiness when their paper boat swimmed in a pool.

"Oh my God!! I married our schoolmate, you married our classmate. I knew we are soul sisters." Yash too jumped in my arms seeing his over-energetic mommy. He continued to suck on his lolipop and saliva ran down through the corner of his mouth.

I wipe it with my hankey. "Stop behaving like Yash, when he sees a bunch of chocolates and lollipops!!" I scold Trisha. Thank God, We were in the balcony and Abhishek was downstairs. "Neither he nor his family should know about it. Otherwise i will kill you!"

"Kill me? I'm pregnant, for God sake. You don't want to harm my unborn, do you?" She looked at me with a scared face and her eyebrows knitted.

She took me serious? God this pregnancy... Fill her with sweet words..

"Oh Einstein, i can never dare to kill you. You are my soul sister..My well wisher, my sweet friend, my Yash's momma...i love you so much." Finally she smiled and a feeling of proud of herself, shined in her black orbs.

"Holy Shee...Yathu was talking to Abhishek...He might tell hi--"

"Relax, Relax Trisha. I already told Yatharth to not open his mouth and only say that we were college friends." No lie. Not full truth either.
