Chapter seventeen

Claire got up from her sleep-long position which was not a sleeping position. She massaged her aching neck and stretched her limbs to get the blood flowing back into it again.

She had slept off while reading the book. She sneezed as she caught a chill. The night sky was dark outside which meant she slept off for some hours.

She stood up and walked into the library, closing the balcony doors behind her. She didn't know how or when she had slept. She was normally a light sleeper. But she guessed she had expected nothing to happen to her and had become comfortable in this place.

A splitting headache overcame her as she dropped the book to the floor which made a loud thud in the silent library. She clutched her head in her hands as memories she had no recollection of started appearing before her eyes.

She fell to the ground as she breathed heavily, the pain slowly subsiding. What was that? She thought. She didn't know where those memories came from. Is it from the present or the past?
