It has been two days since that incident and Willow had become a shell of herself. She tried her possible best to be in the shadows and was able to get a pass to leave work early in order to avoid the incident happening again.
"You space out a lot, why?"Her head turned to see Eve looking at her with a frown. "Sorry, I was just feeling tired. That's all," Willow mumbled. Eve raised a brow and pointed at their unfinished homework. "You promised to help me with my law assignment," she said. "You and I are not studying the same thing, Eve," Willow rolled her eyes. "But you made me follow you to the library," her best friend pouted.Willow sighed, "I said we'd do our assignments together. Not that I'd help you." "But you still read those textbooks about law in your free time," Eve argued. "Doesn't this girl ever rest?" Willow thought to herself with a small smile."Eve, you need to use your brain sometimes," she pointed out. Eve scoffed and waved her off. "I use it all the time but I want to use that smartass brain in your head too," she said as she flicked Willow's head causing her to gasp."You're going to pay for that," Willow promised and Eve laughed."Hey girls," they looked up to see Kyle standing in front of them with his signature smirk. "Hey Kyle," Eve said with a smile and Willow forced a smile. He was tall with broad shoulders and always messy brown hair that looked hot. He was one of the heartthrobs on campus and it seemed to have hurt his ego that Willow turned him down."It was nice seeing you girls. See you later," he said with a wink and walked away. Willow rolled her eyes and turned her attention back to her books. "He was being nice," Eve nudged her shoulder. "Nice enough to think he'll get in my pants. I thought you even slept with him," Willow rolled her eyes again.Eve blushed and played with one of her braids. "It doesn't matter. But he was really good in bed," she said and Willow laughed. "That's enough for today. Let's get back to work," she said and her friend nodded.By the time they got back to the dorms, they parted and went to their different rooms. Willow walked into her room and went to lay on her bed. She let out a sigh and blew off the hair that was scattered over her face. Then her phone began to ring. Not bothering to check who it was, she clicked the answer button."Yes?""You deserve a slap for talking to your grandmother like that, child!" the voice of her grandmother filled the room. Willow rolled her eyes and turned to lay on her back before bringing the phone close to her ear."Good afternoon, grandma. How are you?" she asked. "Well, I've been doing fine. I can take a stroll in the park for as long as I like now," her grandmother said with much joy that it made her smile."Your voice is healthier than the last time I called. You're taking your medications seriously," Willow said happily. "Of course I am, I don't want my granddaughter to start lecturing me about the health crap again." Her grandmother said and she chuckled."I hope you've been taking enough rest," Willow said. "Yes, yes. Aliyah has been on my neck ever since I got discharged," she could imagine her grandmother rolling her eyes as she said it."I'm pretty sure that's not the actual case. Is she there?" Willow asked. "Yes, she is. She's making fruit cake. ALIYAH!"Willow was convinced her eardrums had been destroyed when her grandmother screamed for the caretaker. She heard noise in the background before hearing a familiar voice. "Willow, it's nice to hear from you again," Aliyah said. "It's also nice to hear from you too, Aliyah. I hope Grandma isn't giving you any trouble," Willow said."I can hear you!" she heard her grandma in the background followed by Aliyah's giggle. "She's not, even though she can be a hand full at times," she said. "I am not!" grandma exclaimed and the two girls laughed."I do not accept this way of the both of you talking about me. I'll report you to the authorities," Grandma said while collecting the phone."Oh grandma, don't get your health worse. Don't give her too much trouble, get some rest. I'll call you later," Willow said to her. "Be a good girl and have a social life," her grandma said and hung up.Willow rolled her eyes and stretched her limbs. Her mind went back to the incident that happened and she felt her stomach churn with the urge to vomit her lunch."I'm not the first girl to experience this and I won't be the last. I need to overcome it," she mumbled to herself and curled herself up in a ball. "I didn't get raped at the end," she said and then she remembered Nathan and Chase. She needed to thank them for helping her.It would be easy if she could find them but it would be dumb to comb the whole campus just because she wanted to say thank you.She then made a mental note that to appreciate them if they ever crossed paths.∞"So how has school been, son?"Nathan rolled his eyes at his father's typical question. "The same," he replied. "Anything new that we should know about?" his father asked. Nathan sighed and rubbed his face tiredly as he walked out of his lecture room."Nothing that I can think of," he said."What about that blonde girl that I saw you with the other day. Christmas is her name?" he raised a brow at his father's question. Why in the world would someone name their child Christmas?"Seriously dad? Her name is Crystal," Nathan stated. "Oh yes, I remember. She's a nice girl, why don't you bring her for dinner sometime?" his father offered."No, dad. I'm no bringing her over for anything," Nathan said. There was no way in hell he'd let Crystal come near his family, he'd rather chew sand. "She's a good girl," his father said. "As if," Nathan thought to himself."Your grandfather is worried about you," his father said. "Dad, I'm just twenty one, give me a fucking break," Nathan said. "That was the same age I met your mother," his father countered. At the moment, Nathan wished he could trash his phone immediately. "I have a class right now and I need to go. Bye," he said and hung up before his father could talk."They're delusional," he mumbled and made his way to his next class.Willow was seated under a large tree on the grass of the university. She had no class at that time and figured it would be nice to spend some time under the tree with the it giving shade from the scorching sun.She was dressed in a red and white plaid skirt that stopped a little above her knee and a red crop top. Willow wasn't the fittest person anyone would know and unlike her best friend, her tummy wasn't flat so she was glad her skirt had a high waist. She was lost in her book when her phone rang.Startled a little, she picked it out of her pocket and answered it. "Hello?" she spoke. "Is this Willow Sawyer?" an unfamiliar female voice spoke. "Yes, it's Willow," Willow said with a frown. "I'm calling from Winston Hospital, where your grandmother was discharged from," the woman said and Willow sat straight immediately. "Yes, how may I help you?" her voice wavered a little. "We are informing you that you are yet to pay the hospital bills. If you can't pay it on time, we won't be able
Nathan looked at his phone with an absent mind. Why did he propose that plan to her? What the hell was he thinking? He rolled his eyes and scrolled through his Instagram feed like the jobless person he was.She was the best option. "Hey," the low yet audible voice made him look up from his phone to see Willow standing there with a shy smile. She was dressed a light blue sun dress that stopped below her knees and her hair was packed in a half-up ponytail making her look as cute as ever."I thought you were going to ditch me on our first date," Nathan commented with a grin as she took her seat across him. Willow rolled her eyes and placed her small white purse on the table. It has been a week since she agreed to that plan. They hadn't met since that day and the was their first meeting."Why did you send me that money?" she asked him when she was settled. Nathan's grin widened, knowing that was what she was going to say. "I presume you haven't heard of a signing bonus," he said and she
"I wanted vegetables," Eve whined as she picked a slice of the pizza and began to eat. Willow rolled her eyes, "Stop being bitchy and eat it like that.""You're being like a mom," her best friend pouted as she laid her head on Willow's lap. They were under one of the trees in the campus, enjoying the cool weather that came as a surprise that day."Someone needs to keep you in check before you kill someone for bumping into you accidently," Willow rolled her eyes and began to eat her pizza. Evelyn snorted and adjusted her head on her best friend's lap."So where were you yesterday?" she asked. Willow stopped mid-chew, "What do you mean?" "You did say you were going out but you didn't tell me where. Not to mention that you were gone all day," Eve pointed out. "Um," Willow thought of what to say. "Is there something you're not telling me?" her best friend sat up and narrowed her eyes at her. Willow shook her head, "It's not that.""Then what is it?" Eve raised a thick brow. "I went on a
"That's not how you pronounce it, Eve," Willow sighed as she rubbed her temples. "It's not my fault," Evelyn whined and sighed before closing the dictionary. She didn't even know why she decided to read the dictionary. They were at the cafeteria eating and also working on their assignments. "Why did you even decide to open a book you can't even comprehend?" Willow raised a brow at her, which earned her a glare."Don't you dare try to insult my intelligence. I can understand the dictionary," Eve pointed a finger at her and Willow chuckled. "Just give me your chicken already," she said. Eve rolled her eyes and pushed her plate of half-eaten chicken towards her. "I'm convinced that you love chicken more than you love me," she mumbled with distaste. Willow waved her off as she bit into the seasoned meal. "I spend more time with you, my love," she said with a chuckle and Eve rolled her eyes again."That your laughter will soon be your last."They turned to see Crystal standing behind the
Willow felt nervous as she followed Evelyn like a lost puppy. The whole frat house was full of people. They were either on the dance floor dancing their hearts out, getting drunk or making out anywhere they felt like,The girls there were nearly naked and it scared her a little. "This place is weird," she said to Eve when they got to the kitchen. Evelyn chuckled and led her to the shelf of drinks. "If you want to put up with all these, you'll need a drink or two," she said as she poured out their drinks."Okay," Willow said as Eve handed her a shot glass and she downed it immediately. The burning sensation went down her throat making her gasp a little. Eve did the same and they took another shot again. "Let's go and dance out night away!" she said and grabbed Willow's hand. They went back to the packed living room where the music was blaring through speakers. "Don't you dare leave me," Willow said when she tried to dance with her. Eve nodded and began dancing to the music.Soon enou
Willow slowly opened her eyes as she gained consciousness and a yawn left her mouth as she stretched a little. She turned around to come face to face with a sleeping Nathan.Memories of last night filled her head and her cheeks heated. She sat up, only to realize that his arm was around her. As if on instinct, Nathan pulled her closer making her lay back down. Her heart skipped a beat and she tried to maintain her breathing."This is perfectly normal, Willow. You've done this before," she thought to herself. Her back was pressed against his chest with heat radiating off him. She was enjoying it more than she was supposed to.Her heart nearly stopped when her phone began to ring. She stretched her arm until she was able to grab her phone from the nightstand. She saw the caller ID and her eyes widened. Clearing her throat, she answered it."Good morning, grandma," she said."It's weird that you greeted me like that," her grandmother said and she rolled her eyes. "You're the one that sai
"Oh shut up, Nate. It's my fucking birthday, you're meant to be there!" Nicole Reyes, Nathan's elder sister screamed in his ear making him pull the phone away and place it on the coffee table."You haven't stop your siren screams yet?" he groaned as he massaged his temples. "Stop calling me a siren, you fucking idiot!" she exclaimed. "That's when you stop screaming like one," her brother said and she scoffed."You're coming whether you like it or not," she said."What if I don't want to?" he countered as he stretched his limbs, relaxing in his recliner. Star ran into the room and he carried her up onto his laps. "Seriously, Nathaniel? Why are you being such an asshole? Noah wasn't as hard as you when I asked," Nicole sighed and he grinned."I'm just messing with you, sis. I'll be there," he said and he heard her huff. "Are you bringing your girlfriend?" she asked and he frowned. "Who said I have a girlfriend?""I have my way. Besides, Chase complained that you're spending more time wi
Today was the day, Nathan was going to take Willow to his sister's birthday party and she was not ready at all.Not physically, just mentally."What if they don't like me?" Willow asked her best friend who was standing beside her. "Babe, I've told you for the fifth time in the last minute already. They will love you," Evelyn said to her.Willow still didn't seem to believe her. 'What if they are the type of family that only wants rich people? I'm going to meet celebrities for crying out loud!" She exclaimed shaking her head. Then she went to pick up her phone. "Maybe I should tell Nathan that I can't do this," she said and her phone was snatched away from her hands. "The fuck no, Will!" Eve glared at her and threw the phone back on the bed. She grabbed Willow's hand and dragged her to the mirror."Just look at yourself, Will. You are beautiful!' Eve exclaimed. Willow looked at her reflection but still wasn't convinced. Eve knew she wouldn't be convinced at all. Willow had never seen
