CHAPTER 13

Cafeteria room, 10:00 am.

Everyone in the cafeteria immediately surrounded Elena's body which was now convulsing violently in front of the counter suddenly. Her pale face looked up to the ceiling in pain. Her hands squeezed her chest tightly and occasionally opened her mouth, seemingly to spit something out of her throat, though the only thing that came out of Elena's mouth was wind and a horrible hiss. She was like a person possessed by a ghost, her body moving uncontrollably.

Elena's sudden fall caused the two friends beside her to panic. They both went low, trying to hold Elena's hands.

They shouted in panic.

"Help! Someone help us!"

And all the people in the cafeteria began to rush over. They were curious about the incident that had just happened. Some of them whispered in fear, while others recorded the incident with their cell phones. The current situation was almost similar to the situation when James' body was found in the hallway. But none of them could really help Elena there. Elena was dying.

Meanwhile, a young man wearing glasses with a name tag that read Carl Simon also approached. Carl stood among the other students, he quickly got out of his desk cubicle, to quickly approach Elena as soon as he heard the cries for help from the two girls who were with Elena. Carl was manning the food counter that day, he would definitely get into trouble if the incident was related to the food in the cafeteria. He simply did not expect that someone would suddenly suffer because of his food today. It was a pity that Carl couldn't avoid it.

Alicia, who had previously intended to leave the cafeteria, seemed to be summoned when a loud 'help' echoed in the room. The blue-eyed girl immediately ran toward the center of the crowd of panicked Golden High School students near the cafeteria counter. Alicia couldn't even remember which table her espresso cup landed on because she was in such a hurry.

Because in Alicia's opinion, there was something more important waiting for her, than just a coffee cup puffing hot steamy remains on the table.

Alicia lowered herself, leveling her position with the four people who had already knelt near Elena. She was Elena and Carl's friends. They all looked confused and frightened. Elena had started to stop moving, but the situation was definitely not looking any better. Alicia looked around before carefully checking Elena's condition, the back of her hand pressed against Elena's forehead which was now covered in sweat. "What happened to her?!" Alicia looked at the three people in front of her in turn. "She fainted?"

Judging by the tail of Alicia's eyes, Brittany caught up and stood not far from her. And the blonde-haired girl wasn't alone. There were Ace and Luke who were also watching Elena with curious looks next to her.

One of Elena's friends (a shoulder-length black-haired girl with brown eyes) who was closest to Elena's face shook her head weakly. "We... We don't know," she said hoarsely. She bit her lower lip and continued, "We saw her convulsing on the floor and we screamed for help."

Alicia watched her intensely. His eyes were puffy, while both cheeks were already wet. Maybe she was crying because she was too scared. A moment later, Alicia's blue eyes turned to Elena's other friend. A brunette girl with red paint on the ends of her curly hair. "Do you know anything? Is it maybe the food or the drink?"

The girl who had been staring at Alicia quizzically turned her head. Staring straight at Alicia with a mysterious look. Alicia wondered if she could be Amanda. But a moment later, the girl shook her head. "No."

The girl's defensive form made Alicia even more suspicious. That the brunette girl was Amanda, Amanda Greenie. The one who had allegedly borrowed Elena's silver hairpin and had reportedly lost it.

Alicia scanned the girl in front of her carefully. Noting the significant change in her expression. Between before interacting with her and afterward. And strangely, the brunette no longer looked as frightened and panicked as before. Didn't Elena still look extremely miserable before his eyes? Where were the tears and panic on her face?

Alicia turned to Carl, the cafeteria counter guard. "Is there something strange about your drink today?"

Carl snorted rudely. "Are you kidding me? My espresso is guaranteed to be clean and flavorful. I also have a certificate for--" He then shook his head confidently, as Alicia raised both eyebrows high. As if to convey oh-I-don't-ask-that-now through the look in her eyes. "No, no. I'm sure we don't have any problems with the drinks. We always do a quality check before the kids drink it. I'd be fired if I had a bad attitude towards the food in the cafeteria."

Alicia closed her mouth and watched Elena's face closely. The girl slowly rubbed Elena's cheeks. "Elena, do you hear me? Can you talk now?"

Brittany, who had been watching Alicia, came closer, tapped Alicia on the shoulder and said, "How is Elena? It looks bad."

Alicia nodded her head, then looked at Brittany seriously when Elena didn't respond. "Britt, I need an ambulance as soon as possible," Alicia pleaded. Which was answered with an understanding nod from the chubby-cheeked girl.

A moment later, the only daughter of NYPD chief Paul Scoots ran out of the cafeteria to do what Alicia had asked. First, she had to find the CEO of Golden High (Mr. Wilson Blake) to give him this important information and ask him to call an ambulance. Second, Jake, who we all know is Elena's boyfriend.

"Can I check the drinks?" Alicia extended her hand to Carl.

Carl nodded and got up from the floor. He hurriedly picked up Elena's coffee cup that had been placed at the end of the counter before her body staggered and collapsed before his eyes. "Miss Sanders scolded me because she said my coffee tasted different." Carl handed the cup to Alicia in front of him. "She left her coffee before she suddenly fell over."
