“So what are you two lovely ladies smirking about? Please, do tell. My life needs a little gossip right now. This wedding planning is taking up far too much of my time sis.” Rainey looked at her sister inquisitively and scooted herself down next to Willa without asking permission.

Cal looked at his future wife sideways and said, “Now Rainey let’s not disturb their lunch with this right now. I thought that we were going to have a little time to ourselves dear?” He looked at Rainey pleadingly and then said to Willa apologetically, “Excuse your sister for wanting to nose into your business with your bestfriend Willa. I’m sure that she can wait until later to find out some gossip another time.”

Cal glared at Rainey but she ignored him. He resigned himself and pulled up a chair. The waitress came by and asked if they wanted refreshments. Rainey declined and said they would not be staying long as they had another table. Cal told the waitress that he would like a glass of water.
