~[CHAPTER FOUR]~

"He broke up with me, Jane"

My eyes beheld the sad ones of my friend, which usually would be housing lots of happiness, but otherwise it was on a cold Friday night as this"

"A relationship we had managed to build for five years, and he heartlessly cut it off" She gave a smile, yet, on her cheeks, were tears streaming down.

"Five years, Jane!"

"Five years of me planning what the future would hold for the both of us"

"Five years of me working for what would eventually come to crash"

"T-" My voice was soft, hoping it would do enough getting her to a calm, but her wails only broke into my ears, shoulders trembling, while the tears poured out her eyes.

"Come on, T"

"Don't let this ruin you"

"Well, it already has" She chuckled emptily.

"I am left with nothing but memories of a person whom I so bore myself to"

"I am left with cracked pieces, Jane" Her voice wavered.

"Don't say that" I pulled her body to mine, hands patting her back.

"You can't let this break you, Tara"

"Remember how you used to tell me not to make decisions that would leave me wailing in years to come? Well I'd like you to do the same" I muttered over her neck.

"Don't let it have you broken to the extent you would lose whatever push you have left"

The words seemed like they were fit for me more than my friend, whom if I could remember was mentally stronger than I ever have been.

"The day would surely pass, Tara. Don't lose yourself in it"

I watched her eyes stare into space, that gaze rushed with pain, and in an instant, it had snapped to mine, glee filling it at once.

"You're right, Jane" Her voice blasted into my ears, form tearing off the comfort of the chair.

"I should forget him" A grin tugged at her rosy lips, eyes already lit.

"I should forget that bastard whom I gave my all to!" She spat.

Okay, maybe this was a bit too much, but whatever would have her back in high-spirits, I was down for.

"We should party" She called out.

"We should party?" I dragged the words, eyes holding onto hers.

"We should make merry rather than bask in the torment the day brought about" She called even louder, arms spread out.

"We should go out there, Jane, enjoy the night, have fun, and probably find some strangers who could knock us up" Followed the sudden cheerful voice of hers.

"I crave for some long-lasting sex at this hour" My lips gaped at her utterance. Eyes beholding the enthusiasm which rested in her eyes.

"One which would have my drained soul all shaken"

That dangerous voice of hers got me alarmed, eyes lighting with much delight she never had bore before.

I let her drag me into the room, leading me to the closet, while her hands went rummaging through, in search of a befitting dress for whatever occasion she had in mind.

It sure was to be a long night. One that was only bound to leaving us in regrets.

~~~
"A strip club, Tara" My arms were folded across my chest, eyes peering back into the influencing ones of my friend.
"For what reason are we at a strip club?"
My words only caused her grin growing even wider, hands nudging mine.
"To have fun!" Followed her voice.
"Come on, Jane.......Who was just telling me to make merry, and not let the worries get to me?" She added, with that look of hers which would only resort to me giving in.
"I don't remember telling you that"
"Oh, let's join in on the fun" She squealed, and in a minute, she had gone on pulling my reluctant form with her, our figures making way through the crowd of wasted people.
"Tara"
"Slow down, Tara" My voice trailed after her departing figure, but in a moment, we had lost hold of each other, and all I was left with was the swaying number of bodies coming before me.
"Helloooooo" That slurred voice brushed into my ears, with a figure soon coming before me. I beheld the grin of the man stood away, his eyes ravaging every part of me.
I wasn't given a notice to push past him, eyes trying to locate the profile of Tara.
Some long scolding she deserved.
A whistle-call blew past my ears, with the face of a cock-eyed fellow staring back at me.
"Excuse me"
Why was a strip club packed with fellows you were bound on the walkway of every street.
It was only a sea of pleasure-drained souls. People who wished to drown their worries with the comfort they were so deprived of. And that only reminded me of Tara.
Wherever was she?
"Jane"
I froze at that voice.
Part of me already knew who it was, but something said to turn around, just to have every confirmation I itched at having.
And at once, I found myself turning around, eyes coming to behold the profile of a person whom months ago, had been all I sought for.
I cursed at the sight of that figure stood away, that crooked grin still held on that irksome face of his.
"Oh, Jane. You look even beautiful than the last time I saw you" His breath was low, eyes shifting to the cleavage this dress had been kind enough to portray.
Every part of me screamed to push him away. Screamed to have him erased from all which concerned me. I had fought months to deal with all that was of the both of us, and now, when I had done enough tackling it, he dares show up?
"Sorry" The word rolled out my lips, with my figure soon trying to make way past his barricading form, but the sudden hold on my wrist halted me mid-steps.
"Won't you at least give me a chance to greet you properly?" The rough voice of George followed.
"Come on, Jane. Let's go somewhere quiet" And with that, the man whom I had known to avoid all year long, took me to a corner I was unsure of.
~~~

"Come on, Jane" His breath was laced with a whisk of Rum, lips pulling even closer to my face.

I peered back at the profile of George. Nothing about him had changed since the past twelve months.

Voice still rough like it used to be, rich brown eyes clouded with a lot of lies, not to forget the attitude he put up, whenever he was trying to get into one's panties.

"It's been over a year now"

"Still doesn't change the fact that I caught you with a girl you claimed to be your cousin" My voice was low.

"I'm a changed person now, Jane.....Come on"

"I've missed you" His voice was so low, I barely could make out the words over the music that blasted from the outer room.

"How much I've missed having you in my arms"

I could feel his fingers pulling up my dress, hands reaching for the panties I wore.

"Stop it, George"

"Don't you miss us?"

I knew the answer to that. And it was one he wouldn't want to hear.

It wasn't the first time, nor was it the second I had caught him engaging with some random girl.

Was it Gina who lived five blocks away, Or was it the sales attendant who worked at the city's store had he not found himself pushing his Johnny into?.

It was only fair we called it off at this point. For the sake of my own sanity.

"We can't continue like this, George" I followed.

"Come on, don't do this to me. Mother misses you"

He pulled my body closer to him, at once lifting my figure off the floor. Hands wrangling underneath his grip, while he placed on the table in the room.

"Tell me you don't miss screaming my name, while I make love to you"

"Stop it"

His lips went trailing down my neck, hands snaking around my waist.

"Tell me you don't miss our bodies kissing, while your moans disturb the silence of the night"

"Stop it"

His hands had tugged my dress up to my waist, fingers reaching to tug my panties.

"Get away from me!" Followed the yell of my voice, and with that, I was tearing out the room, hurrying out to where the figure of Tara was.

There hovered a man over her figure, his hands roaming every part of her body.

That charming laugh of hers broke into the area, hands spread over his body, while he pushed himself to her.

She seemed to be enjoying every bit of it, but my friend was lost—Lost reeling in the trauma of a relationship that threatened to ruin her.

Their lips connected, his hands pushing her legs up his shoulders, while their bodies went hugging each other's.

At the number of figures in the area, one would think they should be a tad reserved and mind the stares that would be sent their way, but that not for once altered their session.

They went groping each other, unbothered at the ruckus that came.

"Tara"

Whoever could hear the faint voice of mine amidst the blare of the music in the room?

Bottles had been shattered all around the space, with money raining down on ladies who went on teasing the figures of men before them.

It was a wild place to be in.

One improper for a lady like me who had work the next morning.

"Tara" I called yet again, but the chuckles of my friend only sailed into my ears, her eyes shut tight, while the stranger on top of her went busy trying to rip the peach dress I had gifted her on her birthday.

Only at that, did my feet push forward, figure hurrying to where she was.

"Excuse me" My voice barely was audible, as I tapped the shoulders of the man who appeared pissed at whoever deemed it fine disturbing his make out-session.

"What the fuck!?" A coarse voice followed, with anger-filled eyes taking my apologetic ones.

"Come on, T."

And with that, I was pulling the hands of my hammered friend, her laughs bouncing into my ears, while I led her out of the ruckus, away from the improprieties and back to her own sanity.
