Rayna
There were two things that immediately registered in mind when he said those words.
Super smell and bossy.
I wasn't innocent. I noticed what he did there sniffing me and all and it was weird. So weird. Because of this, I found myself believing my theory again.
He could possibly be a werewolf and a spy. A CEO spy. Made my superiors think he was donating weapons when in reality he was just gathering intel.
But then again. I could be wrong, and this made me realize I needed to do some digging of my own regarding this man. He really was a mystery, and most likely possessed a treasure trove of secrets if his sense of dressing was an indication.
One thing was certain for me, though. He was bossy.
Aside from the fact that he did that weird act on me, his tone was full of command. For a man of his stature, it was a given. Issuing orders was what embodied a CEO, after all. I definitely wasn't leaning on the
AxelLieutenant Rayna Chase. Or simply Rayna Chase. Her name echoed in my head repeatedly after I read her impressive biography and credentials neatly prepared inside a folder. My secretary, Mrs. Mayfield, compiled all of this when I asked her to do so the moment I heard this name mentioned by the general. She also attached a black and white wallet-sized picture of her in military uniform, and since then, I kept staring at this picture. I couldn't quite describe it, but there was something about this woman I simply couldn't resist.Maybe it was the way she confidently looked at the camera when this picture was taken. Her beautiful eyes seemed to look straight to me as if she already chained my soul.Or maybe it was the unhindered view of her neck. She had her hair done in a bun exactly like those military women would, showing the slenderness of her neck with which I craved to mark.Or maybe it was her ov
AxelOnce we arrived on the ground floor, we were led to a transport vehicle. Within minutes, it conveniently drove us to the docking area which was easily as large as ten football fields.“Mr. Windstorm! I am glad you could finally join us!” Colonel Garrison exclaimed as he waved his hands and approached me. Ever since I met this man, he had been kissing my ass and I know it was all because he saw me as a walking ATM machine—which in raw term, I was.“Have you made preparations, Colonel?” I gave him a once-over before asking. He was taken aback by my words and looked confused.“Preparations? For what, Sir?” he asked.“Your security. Have you heightened it for any possible threats?” I explained, and I mean the werewolves as threats. I had seen them two days ago already mobilizing in the forest floor and I sensed one—their alpha—trespassing Rayna
RaynaHe would sacrifice his life for me?This man is just joking, right?I found it hard to believe his words when he spewed it so casually as if he was just ordering food in a restaurant. Again, he was my employer. He was a high-profile man. We only just met. He shouldn't be saying these words to me, yet he did, while I shouldn't be affected with it, yet I was. It made my heart pound so suddenly and so heavily that I rushed to spread my hand over my chest. This man is a health hazard, I tell you. A health hazard! My cheeks burned then, and I was certain he saw it. Instead of answering him head-on, I chose to take the safer route."Though I admit that was kind of you to say, Mr. Windstorm, but I suggest you filter your mouth next time. You don't know me enough to do that sacrifice.""You are both correct and wrong, Ms. C
AxelWerewolves were sneaky beasts, and they had been so since time immemorial. Since my ancestors found out their existence in the same land we were in. We used to live in peace. Never really caring what the other does and just minded our own business. One incident was all it took to destroy this peaceful symbiosis. One incident and blood, death, despair, and hatred had been nonstop until the modern world reached us.With the changing of time, both of our races went into hiding. The barbaric, mountain-erasing fights had been scarce. What replaced it was another type of war more suited to both of us. The war in money, power, fame and control. Our hatred on the werewolves never disappeared. It was still burning with a passion and could never be doused. I had always been wary about them even before I inherited the Windstorm lordship and this sense of wariness never failed me.I anticipated them to attack eventually. I even exp
ErosRed and blue spotlights swung back and forth as the loud, heart-pounding music continued. Dressed in black jeans, a trench coat and another dark-colored turtleneck shirt, I leaned against an iron-wrought balustrade in the third floor of my club while my eyes landed on the dance floor. Naked women swayed their hips provocatively in this particular area. They bent their bodies like contortionists in a circus in front of many men—mostly clueless humans—and strutted their tits and pussies for all of them to see. They salivated like sex-starved sperms, which I doubt they were. It was impossible they would be starving. The Muvato Moon nightclub was far from a nightclub. In this underground empire I ruled and many werewolves called home, this club opened twenty-four seventh—meaning booze, drugs, women and sex were everywhere nonstop. All I saw in the guests below were herpes-ridden bodies I could extort more money f
RaynaMr. Axel Windstorm was standing.
Rayna"How and why am I here? What day or time is it? Where are the nurses? Doctors? Where's Colonel Garrison? (If he survived, that is.) Where am I? Did you molest me? If you did, then so help me, you're going to pay!" I stated all the while my hands clenched into tight fists.Mr. Dangers clucked his tongue and left his seat, somehow looking unruffled by my accusation. "So many questions, woman, the answers of which you don't need to know. You will be out of here, anyway."Damn. Even in my spot, I felt like a dwarf. I had forgotten how tall he was. He and Mr. Windstorm had the same height, but definitely with contrasting personalities."Oh? That's grossly convenient," I answered in a mocking tone, pushing the dwarfing feeling away. "But I still need answers, Mr. Dangers, and as an officer of the military who is in an unauthorized area, I order you to give them."His blue-greens dialed a shade darker, and I swore I he
RaynaI value freedom. I value space. Now, both of them were taken away from me and by no less than the alpha king of these beasts. Yes, I had roomed in with men before because of the nature of my work and recently with the late Mr. Windstorm, but they were all without coercion. This arrangement was forced into me, and this was all because I found out about their secret.God, I shouldn't have snooped around. I should have stayed in bed and let Mr. Dangers return me to civilization. As I sat on a large couch next to the fireplace, the steel panels that provided the majority of the darkness of the room taunted me. I told myself I would find a way to escape, but the question was, how? This room was guarded by one person, this man called Simon, but for certain, there were werewolves around the area. Colonel Garrison's report said they were cunning and powerful creatures. I knew an escape was close to impossible. Still tho
