Donald's POV
After 5 minutes, the hall brightened up. But littered with people running here and there. The uprouse were tried to be controlled by security guards, directing those kids to safety, likewise the adults.
On the stage was the Lady laying upon Reverend Thompson. Sister Jane was too shocked to approach them and the other sisters nearby. As I saw that father was lifeless, I sprinted over to him and yanked that disgusting girl away.
"Father! Father!! Father!!!" Reverend Thompson coughed out on the third call.
I sagged to the ground, my heart full of gratitude.
As she lay motionless on the ground, Sister Jane hovered on her and kept patting her cheeks repeatedly.
"Ms. Davis!"
"Ms. Davis, get up!" She spoke tensely. The Lady was still sessile upon all Sis Jane's attempts, however, Sister Jane suddenly let out a startled gasp as she noticed four syringes affixed to the Lady's neck. As she was pulling it out, she continues to gasp in terror
I shoved my phone out. "I'll dial 119 now!" I immediately dialed and spoke with them.
I paced back and forth, forming pretend.
"I will administer a gastrointestinal respiration to aid her for the time being," I said, giving them a reassuring smile.
Faster, I prostrated her and try my best to fake that I was performing the aid on her.
"Was she murdered?" Reverend Thompson spoke as soon as he found his voice.
He received a positive nod from me as I continued the deed deftly. "It seems so. Don't panic, the securities are on the lookout and the ambulance will arrive soon."
Some minutes later, the ambulance arrived and the girl was led into it by two medical experts. Well, my disguised SWs.
Reverend Thompson stopped me just as I was about to get into the ambulance. "Mr. Donald, you may back off from here. Sister Jane and Sister Liana will go as her guardian."
I immediately reached for Reverend Thompson's hands, gently held them, and sincerely gazed into his eyes.
"Father, you and the Sisters should attend to those kids. I've called the police and they will be here soon. For a lady to be attacked out of the blue, she needs security and a man to stay beside her. Why put those sisters at such risk?" I urged him sincerely.
"I volunteer to be her guardian. I will report to you as everything goes." I hurried through my words to leave the man with no other choice.
"You're such a generous young man," he said and gave me a loving glance. He gently grasped my hands and whispered a word of prayer in my ear.
___________Melissa's POVI opened my eyes as a beautiful breeze struck my body. It seemed as though I was refraining from the willingness to wake up. Eventually, I opened my eyes. But rushed out of the bed as soon as the awareness of what happened to me hit my tiny head.
"Oh! My good—!" My edgy voice went rolling back as multiple breezes stroked across my face.
It seemed as though I was dreaming. I prowled and cast a bewildering glance around the vicinity I found myself. Alone, I was by myself on the rooftop of an unknown resident. Behind me was the King-sized bed which I rushed out from. Above my head, were galaxies of bright stars glowing in the moonless dark sky.
If not for the two luxury lamps by the bed, I would not have noticed how dark it was up there.
I seriously doubt my eyes. This might only be a fantasy rather than reality.
The last thing I remembered was my time at the Annual Conference. I was celebrating and dancing with those children.
What happened next? Why am I here alone in this eerie yet stunning place?
"Anyone here?!!" I shouted. My voice came back to me like an echo.
I tried to recall how I got here. Then, it occurred to me, I was about to protect the Priest when I suddenly passed out.
Jeez! I gasped into my palm.
Back at the Event Hall. Sister Jane and I were behind the priest as he gave the congregation the prayer of thanksgiving. I sighted two Snipers, targeting their Guns at the Priest.
My body could not hold up again. The Priest would lose his life if he stay there a minute more. Who would execute the Priest and why? A saintly man who breathes life and hope into defenseless youngsters.
My heart ached. I must do something to protect this man and those children at all costs. As I saw that they were about to shoot the gun. I ran to him. The only way to protect him was to ensure they missed their target.
My eyes calculated the seconds I have left to guard him. With 5 seconds moves, I could save a life! Immediately, I threw my entire life in line to save him.
As I count down my time… then total blackout was what I saw next.
Holy crap! Rather than shoving him away… I shielded him instead?!
What the f*ck mistake have I done?!
'Wait!' My body flinched as I reprocessed all that I'd done. I had passed out just to open my eyes to this freaking place.
Was I dead? Was this place my afterlife?!
I started pacing about in frustration. Talking nonstop like a mad woman.
I've heard that each person's soul has an afterlife when they pass away. I wrote that fiction in one of my books too… that mind of life real?!
So, I died sacrificing my life for that Priest?
Omg!!! I squelched to my knees warily.
This must be a dream!!! I shook my head in disbelief.
I was completely in awe when a malicious laugh caught my ears. "Ha...Ha...Ha…!"
It made me look up from the way I soberly cupped my face. A man was standing a distance from me with an intent laughing vilely. standing behind me and laughing intently. The moment I saw his face, the creases on my forehead furrowed as I recognized the man.
He was that obnoxious Old Man from the highway.
What was he doing here? I glared at him with disgust.
Was he also dead because cars crushed him to death as he lay lifeless on the road?
No! That couldn't be so. That jerk had driven after me like a lunatic. Maybe he had a fatal accident and since I was the one who killed him, we both ended ourselves in this afterlife.
Melissa!!! Simultaneously as my instinct called me out of my overbearing thought, a hard punch hit my face and I slumped to the floor helplessly.
I felt feeble, as though all my strength was drained out of me. This oldie was still laughing and I feel like throwing up from that filthy hand that was laid on my face.
Before I registered anything, his virulent hand grabbed my hair, pulling me along with him as my body scraped against the tiled floor.
"I hate touching females but not an as$hole like you. I will teach you the f*cking lesson you lack!!!" He said it with grief.
I spit out blood, struggling to pull his hand off my hair but I was too weak. Too weak to avenge. I couldn't believe that afterlife could make one weak.
"Ouch!" I groaned, the pain I was feeling in my head was hellish.
"You are as dead as death itself, Kid!" He snorted.
Melissa's POVI laughed sheepishly, "After one is dead… nothing more to fear, right uhn?!" Before he knew it, I grabbed one of his legs and strangled it. The pain inflicted, made him collapse to the floor. The sudden way, I attacked him, made him free my hair while falling flatly on his stomach. As I was seated, I trapped both legs together and pinned him down on his spine with one of my legs. With rage, I almost twist his waist to face the back.Strongly twisting him as mighty as my strength could make. He winced in pain and I left him not. I might not have enough of my strengths but I haven't lost my skills, tactics, and even willpower. He banged his hands on the floor as if I was playing a sh*t wrestle game with him. In between the gap of my thigh and armpit were his legs hooked strongly."Rot in hell, you, daughter of a bitch! Lemme off!"I laughed. "Even if I will rot in hell… I will kill you in this afterlife first, so you can go to the next afterlife before I do! B*tch!" My
Melissa's POVMy eyes rolled open. A bit comfortable from the softness I felt underneath where I lay. I rushed to sit upright but almost drooled at the beautiful room I was in this time."My goodness, I'm saved!" I screamed excitedly. However, my mind diverted to how I was saved."Who was that man really?—" A slight cough interrupted me and I whipped my neck to the side astonishingly. Narrowing my eyes, I met with a book-back being held in the space by hands… well, a man was sitting on the couch, closer to me. He relaxed leisurely with a book held in his hands but covered up to his face. I frowned, "Who are you?"He was quiet. Unhurriedly, he started to reveal his face as he pull down the book. Once his face was revealed, he closed the book and threw it on his lap quickly. Meanwhile, my gaze has been following him despicably until it got replaced by shock."Mr. Donald?!" He had an unsurprised mild face on while tapping the book with his fingers like playing piano. I gasped out sti
Donald's POVI narrowed my eyes toward the familiar voice I just heard. I was stunned within as I saw Frisco who stood gallantly by the door and reaffirmed his words fearlessly. "I'm the one who always leaked your information. I'm his Lordship's spy."I almost gasp but held my emotions in and scratched twice my temple as if his affirmation did not shock me. I was but not to the point to make it revealed to anyone. After I gave him two mighty punches yesterday, I was too pissed to have his presence around me. Therefore, I gave him a break to spend his time far away from my vicinity as means to survive my wrath.But…. My Secretary was the mole? 'This is unbelievable and a dead slap on me.'"Then why are you here?" I roared at him frustratedly. He smirked, heinously. "I'm here to tell you who I am really."My brows raised dreadfully. I felt as though to chase Stacy and others away so we both confront each other but I need to be calm. I must calm my freaking temper to make this bitch a
Donald's POV She shook her head and continue, "Since I've spent 3 days here, I want to spend 7 more days." From nowhere, something hilarious hijacked my throat and I boomed out with laughter...very soundly type. It was hard to suppress it. My lips could not clip together at all. I got carried away that I don't know when I sit on the couch. Even after I sat comfortably, I still could not suppress the laugh despite all my attempts. "Ms. Davis!" I called out, still surprised by that. "Was that funny?" She made a cocky voice that halt me instantly. I gulped and looked at her longingly. She glared at me the same...verily with intent. I averted my gaze up, breathed in sharply, and whipped my neck down to her. But this minute, all my laughter had turned sternly. "Yes, of course, that was a very funny quest I have ever heard, Ms. Davis." I intentionally did not look away from her. Her mesmerizing eyes interlocked with mine, so immersed with each other for a long time until she blinke
Melissa's POVI powered on my phone. Hoping to have received messages but even after 5 minutes, I was yet to receive any. I felt like I'd been left alone. The fact that Alice and Kelly did not bother about me broke my heart. How could they do this to me just because I couldn't attend a party? I was supposed to join their school two days ago. I told them and they as well gist me about their school but… gosh! At least they should care about my whereabouts since they did not see me. Why were they so heartless?I threw the phone down. Sniffing continuously as it hurt me to the bone but could not cry it out. I kept suppressing it.At this point, I'm not gonna chat with them first! Neither would I care about them as well. "Never!!!""Go to hell… Alice!""Go to hell… Kelly!"I chimed out… I knew Dad wouldn't ask of me but why were my friends doing the same? "Does Don hurt you before he left?" A very tiny female voice interrupted as soon as the door creaked open.I swallowed my voice imme
Donald's POV"Hello! Don Meon!"Rather, I fixated on the floor as Lord Alessandro ardently glared at me. "You killed him?" Lord Alessandro's cocky voice sent a cold shiver down my spine while I conformed stoically.I knew he was referring to Frisco but since he was his spy, I wish to deny that I killed him. Unfortunately, there wouldn't be a perfect reason to deny that. He knew what I was capable of."Yes. He was a mole and a poison to my Wing. I couldn't condone such filthiness around me. I made him meet his death, Sire!" I replied with a murky voice that covered the pain I felt from the betrayal."Good job…Don. A spy becomes useless after being caught. And death should be the reward for such an unwise spy." He expressed. His response surprised me but I refused to let it show on me. Especially as I thought otherwise. "However, for a leader who also acted recklessly, there should be a punishment for such an unwise leader." He buttressed and I felt his voice accomplished with chuckl
Donald's POV "Consider it as a vacation, Don," Ezio whispered. He shoved out a cigarette case from his pocket and hung the cigar in between his index and middle fingers. But before he proceed to light it, he patted my shoulder twice and smiled briefly. He appeared horrific yet seems contented somehow. Having drawn in a lungful of the cigar. His hoarse voice was released with the smoke that engulfed the fresh air. "Father won't go back on his words, you know." I averted an outrageous gaze at him, the same was the tone I reply him with. "It has only been a year! This is your 5th year, Ezio and you will be promoted soon! Besides, just like I, you also have become the Boss of the Russian Wing since your college till you graduated." "Why should I have to wait till I graduate... huh?!" He furrowed his face after tracing the smoke till it fade into the air. I was once his disciple. He trained me for 2 years when I was 12 years. During that time, he was 18 years. Therefore, aside fro
Donald's POVThat night, I did not visit Melissa in her room. I was too downpour to have a dialogue with anyone. Even Stacy had disappeared without a trace. So, I spent the night consuming myself with the dismay that the trial earned me.The next morning, I left for school alone, not after I killed the Secretary who always drives me. Mostly, I don't go to school driving myself, and as for Stacy? I couldn't be driven by a girl. My principles were intact and I followed them strictly.I was surprised to see Melissa outside the Mansion alone. She was under the Marquee, leisurely sitting and flipping the page of the novel from yesterday when I arrived late in the evening. She seem to have gained her strengths now and could tour around the Mansion. I wanted to sneak into the Mansion as she was the last person I want to see. Seemingly, seeing her around was causing me chronic pain and aching regret. She was the cause of all that happened. Her encounter with me had brought to me nothing but
