Becca POV

I lay on my back, staring up at the ceiling, the weight of Ravi's words echoing in my mind, refusing to let me find any peace or sleep. Why did we always have to fight? I wished he could just understand me. And then there was Bas, disappearing again without a word, ignoring my texts. I reached for my phone, hoping for a message from him, but there was nothing. I could lie in bed all day, but I had promised to see Lola today, so reluctantly, I dragged myself up, forcing myself to shower and get dressed. As I looked at my reflection in the mirror, I couldn't help but feel like a mess—both inside and out. My hair was a tangled mess, so I pulled it back into a messy ponytail, and I attempted to cover up the bags under my eyes with a bit of makeup. "You'll be fine," I whispered to myself, forcing a fake smile as I tried to convince myself that everything would be okay.
