Chapter 12: Stolen

“How was your design?”

I looked up at Harold when he looked at my tablet where I was doing the design for the company that I wanted to sign up for the bidding. As I showed it to Harold, he sat up beside me and took the tablet.

“You’re pretty great,” he replied. “I’m sure you’ll win the bidding.”

“Thanks! I’m confident with my design. I have two years experience, you know.”

“Good luck for tomorrow,” he said.

I nodded.

After days of designing, it has been doing good. Harold was very supportive of me and we never argued since the day that he asked me to resign from giving flyers on the street.

“Are you done?” he asked.

I shook my head. “I haven’t done it yet.”

He sighed and then stood up. “Right, good luck.”

Hearing his cold voice, I looked up at him as he walked out of my bedroom. Instead of thinking why he was so cold towards me, I just shrugged and continued what I was doing.
