Chapter Nineteen: Lyzaria
Princess Lyza, that sounds good to me, Mitalonys chuckles.
“Princess?” Angel growls behind me. I whip around and realize that they are all still chained.
“Hey, can we unchain them?” I ask my uncle who gives me a funny look.
“Why are you traveling with him in the first place?” He asks, tossing them a wary glance.
“I am staying with them so they came with me here so I can shift. Basically, I’m trying to show them that dragons aren’t savage monsters, and this situation isn’t helping,” I mutter.

My shoulder is bleeding badly, but I ignore it, the wound very minimal compared to some of my past ones. Kailo’s dragon, Venix, is growling furiously.Venix doesn’t take complete control of Kailo’s actions like Talon does mine. A hoarse yell fills my ears, and it takes me a moment before I realize it’s my own. All I could see were shadows and now all I can see is Lyza falling through the sky.Her wing has a huge tear in it, and she is covered in a glistening black liquid, blood. I feel my heart drop as I notice she is not moving, and her eyes are closed as she falls.I am standing, but my legs give out underneath me as her body hits the earth. The ground shakes and a plume of dust floats over us.Kailo soars down from the clouds, his wings beating away the cloud of dirt. I see he is missing an eye and half of his face is badly burned.“Oh shit, I don’t think she’s getting up,” someone whispers behind me.Then flames suddenly burst from within the dirt cloud. I jump back, narrowly avoiding getting my eyebrows burned off.

I can’t stop staring at Kailo’s mangled, bloody body. His eyes are still open, staring straight ahead.He looks like a boy again, like the boy I loved and vowed to spend eternity with. My body moves forward but instead of presenting my neck to Daerius like I wanted, Talon has me knocking Daerius into the ring.

My arms curl tighter around her, my hand running through her hair. She suddenly seems so small, so fragile.I listen as her heartbeat and breathing slows. I wanted to know when we are leaving,” she says. I sigh, my head falling against the stone wall.“I don’t know, I can’t leave Lyza. And this is her home, I can’t make her leave that. I don’t know what to do,”
