Maya
I stared, gulped, my heart skipped in a different pace. A cold chill traveled through my vein and I could feel butterflies swooning through my belly.
“I just want my parents, Javier. I do not want to be confused by certain emotions.” I gritted those words, wriggling out of his arms.
On entering, I shut the closet’s door at him, hoping he gave up. The room was dark, yet my sight made me able to figure out what to wear.
“Your transformation process is the next after bloodlust you felt. Even if I let you go, you would be a danger to humans, wherever your destination might be.” Javier murmured from outside.
“Humans.Don’t.Take.Vampires.In.”
After he added those words, I heard the room door slamming shut.
My hands stopped moving, and I exhaled at his words. What transformation process? What was it like for newborn vampires?
…
I woke up the next morning, sweating profusely. The night before had been so restless. I couldn’t sleep well. Every part of my body ached for something…
“Aish,” I snorted, hands on my forehead the moment I was fully awake.
A knock came through the door. Delilah entered. She wore a denim trousers and black turtle neck shirt, with a short hand blazer supported her outfit.
“Is all okay?”
“I’m feverish…” I slurred.
Delilah asked me. “Oh no…your second transformation phase is turning up.” she muttered.
Reaching for a nearby drawer, she injected something in my body. According to her, that will last for a while. It was not until after I felt better, did she call out to someone. “You can come in now!”
Some set of ladies, who seemed like maids turned up. They were clothed in black and white uniforms; their hair was unified in a neat bun. Could tell they were also vampires, from the way they smelled.
“These maids were carefully chosen by me, Maya. They would assist you in anything you need from today.” she stated. I stood up, wriggling my brows.
“Why? I’m totally fine myself--”
“It’s culture. The princess can’t be left alone to deal with her needs herself.” Delilah insisted. “Being Javier’s wife means you’re close to being the Queen.”
I sighed. There were about 8 maids in the room. One at the front stood out from her outfit, a lilac gown with court shoes. Delilah gave her a sign and she stepped forward.
“I ordered for a fashion designer to take care of your outfit. The upcoming banquet is a way for you to socialize and get power.”
“For your presence to be known, you have to stand out in every way.” Delilah added.
“Introduce yourself and begin…” she told the designer.
“I’m Raven, my Princess. My works are gold and I assure you the best dress on the planet.”
I smiled at her words, shaking her hands. “It’s nice meeting you, Raven.”
I wanted to go away from this unfamiliar place. It seemed like I was trapped until I mastered my abilities.
“Make Maya, diamond works and not just gold.” Delilah stated. “For the soon-to-be Queen, she should her look like an ever-glowing diamond. She should be irresistible,”
“Yes, my princess.”
They commenced immediately. I was led to have my bath. I tightened my hands around my bath robe, feeling creeped out about 8 ladies watching me bath. At the entrance of the bathroom, I completely shooed them away, slamming the door shut.
“Whoops, finally…”
I widened my eyes, thinking out loud. I unrobed myself entering the bath they prepared for me. The water was filled with amazing scents of papaya and petals. I dipped a foot inside, only to find out it was below 10˚C.
“So cold!” I shrieked.
Was this a vampire thing or what? I didn’t even shudder, or clench my teeth, instead, this cold water felt comfortable to the core. It frightened me as I took my bath.
…
“What are your favourite colors?”
The sooner I was asked that, my mind practically wandered off. This was happening because I was Javier’s bride. He decided to bite me because of my requests to save my parents… and somehow, I met myself here.
“Hey, princess. Pr-incesss…” I snapped out of my daze at her call.
“Um…pink, yellow, white…anything shiny,” I replied Raven, the Designer. I didn’t work well with dull colors. Bright colors made me happier.
“Noted, my princess.” she said.
Raven stepped forward, measuring me with a tape rule.
“We are changing her entire wardrobe to what a Queen’s should be like.” Delilah stated. I pulled her to a corner the minute she breathed it out.
“Err… aren’t we taking it too far?”
“We aren’t. You’ve not even started yet. Katherine is going to pay for what she did. Her and her entire family, for underestimating your abilities,” Delilah replied, with a snarl. Her fangs highlighted at me…
I realized my best friend was angry on my behalf, so I didn’t bother pressing it. Just went in tune with what was happening.
The sooner they left, I realized I had never step out to see the main palace since I arrived here. One or two things blocked it anytime I wanted to.
I wore black slim fit trousers, with an oversized black checkered shirt. There were stripes on it and my hair was packed in a tight ponytail. The entire thing sashayed down and I applied some powder and colored gloss to my lips.
Didn’t want to look like a ghost…
“My princess.” One of the maids called out.
It seemed they were at the entrance, waiting for me. My chin was up as I spoke, “I’m going to see my husband,”
I said, in a fake warm tone. “You do not have to follow me there.”
“Of course, my princess.” she replied, smiling with the others. “Newly weds should have all the time to themselves.”
I pressed my lips, chuckling a bit, before walking hurriedly outside. I had no idea of where Javier’s room was. It was all a lie to go out. I wanted to explore the palace of vampires today.
If I wasn’t turned… I’d definitely be inside that room throughout my stay here.
“Wow, so pretty.” I gasped, sizing up the entire palace. It was so big and magnificent. With lights everywhere. The windows were closed shut, which was definitely because of sunlight. There was a bit of mist in the air, from the AC turned at maximum temperature.
It felt weirdly comfortable.
“Are you lost, dear?” someone sneaked behind me saying. The hairs on the back of my neckline stood instantly.
I gulped, moving to see who it was. It was a man, who looked like Javier. He was very much older too.

Maya “Am I lost?” I repeated, staring at him cautiously. This familiar man was clothed in an expensive coat. His shoes could stand out anywhere, so as the ring which was wrapped around his fingers. His hair was dark, with little strikes of blue and he appeared elder. I could smell that he was a vampire, yet, I couldn’t dismiss the fact that his presence radiated authority. Delilah said no one in the palace was my friend. The elderly man stepped nearer; I took a step back immediately in fright. “Fret not, dear. I’m King Vladmir, Javier’s father.” He said, taking another step towards me. This time I didn’t move an inch. I was on spot, appalled by this revelation. King Vladmir took my hands, raising it to his chin. “Such translucent skin and a pretty face. My son caught himself a gorgeous bride, I must say.” he murmured, kissing the top of my palms. “Thanks, I’m delighted you think so. Have we by any chance met?” I asked, with a broad smile on how he knew I was his son’s wife. Th
Maya Javier settled me on the bed, as we continued the make out session. My thighs were assembled around him, clinging to him as if my life depended on it. I could feel a certain heat and fire in me. Wasn’t even sure I could control myself, which was a bit unusual. “You’re in heat.” he murmured. I sighed the minute his hands disconnected with my body. Javier rolled away, standing up from the bed. “W-What is heat?” I chewed on my lips, asking him. His eyes scanned me interestingly before he paced to and fro, as if he didn’t know where to begin from. “What is heat?” I asked again, wondering why he was acting strange. “For every vampire, heat turns up when you’re newly bitten. It happens to every female and male and only your companera can quench it. That’s what you’re experiencing now…” “What is companera?” My words were clear, yet, desperate. Javier leaned on the bed post, purposely avoiding any limited space with me. I liked his distance but my skin hated it, my body wanted hi
Javier As I walked away from Maya’s room, someone paced behind me. I pretended not to notice and then when I felt the presence again, my dark reflex was the first to act. The person got pinned on the wall, in a millisecond with my fangs out. As my face connected with my previous lover, Scarlett, my eyes bolted at her. “Scarlett?” I snarled unbelievably. How was she here, alive? Didn’t she die in the rebel? “Still as dangerously wild as always…” she whispered, drawing nearer and nudging her nose with mine. I moved away. “That’s what I like about you, Javier.” I studied her features, which were still intact. Almond brown eyes, brunette hair and a robust figure. I could see her breasts pump from her outfit, which was a raven black long dress with a corset. It looked like she was in the 18th century. “Come with me.” I said, pulling her hands along. I had some questions for her. Judging from her outfit, she had just woken up from a box too. As I slammed my room’s door shut, Scarlett
Maya “My Princess…” My eyes flew open, at that voice. “Wake up, we are here to deliver your clothes and accessories.” I stared at the maid in front of me. From her smell, she was a vampire, however, she directed her face to the ground. It was more like she was afraid of something. “W-what?” “Where is Delilah and Raven?” Since they were the people that led this entire thing, weren’t they supposed to be here at least? “They are helping Queen Zoraida with the banquet arrangements. Please come freshen up and check your clothes.” she stated. “We arranged it already for you, in the closet. The light is also fixed.” At her words, I jumped up excitedly. Hell knows I didn’t come here for this, but what girl didn’t want this? In my purple tank top and lemon SpongeBob shorts, I walked rapidly towards the closet. I heard the maid snap her hands— about 7 other maids rushed in. “Wow,” I said, eyeing the renovated closet. Everything was in a transparent glass, like a fashion design shop wou
Maya I kicked my legs quick, faster, more rapidly. I did it till I was gasping and just when I went out of breath, I collapsed on the floor with a glare at Delilah. “Why did you stop?” I cleaned the sweat off my forehead, with a frown. “Why am I even doing this? I mean, I came here for something entirely different.” “Thought we went over this, Maya.” She drew nearer, bending down with a pat on my back. “Nobody’s your friend here. While you wait, the best form of attack, might be defense.” Her words sounded meaningful. Whenever I remembered how I was compelled to marry Javier, however, it fumed me. “I-um, have to go.” I murmured, standing up and walking out hurriedly, pacing my footsteps. “Maya!” she called after me. “Maya, wait!!” I groaned when her hands brushed my shoulders, the minute I was outside. “What??” She stared at me astonishingly, “You can’t give up, yet. We’ve barely begun anything.” “Why do we have to begin anything? I didn’t fucking ask for this.” I seethed at
Javier She’s not leaving me. Hell damnation, she just isn’t. Even if she wanted to, our bond won’t make her to. It won’t allow any of us to live with it. Not telling her that though… She was going to learn… “Is that everything?” I arched my brow asking her. Delilah went for shopping with Claudia and didn’t even know about my companera leaving. She’d be so disappointed on finding out. “Yeah, I um, returned the stuff you bought except the undies… I guess.” Maya replied. Her face seemed shy from the mention of that, cheeks reddening. It was really cute. “I don’t mind, they’re your stuff now. The princess is entitled to a myriad of luxuries,” “That’s nice, but I’m not that anymore, am I? This union was fake…” she stated, with half a chuckle. “…we should get going, Javier.” “I’m not taking you, snowflake. I’m still in the process of learning how to drive well.” I smirked at her, saying. “Ambroz is.” I helped her lift the little bag, watching her startled expression. “Oh…” she trai
Javier “There’s no way you’re allowing your companera walk that forest alone, is there?” “Nope.” I answered Ambroz immediately. “It’s too dangerous. She wouldn’t have understood if I told her that.” I took some of my stuff from the car. It included a blood bag, my wallet and phone. There was no way I was going to feed my mate to the wolves…. … Maya Coos, clicks… There were croaking sounds of ravens and crows in the sky. It could be creepy for a first timer, but certainly not for me. I’ve been used to this for a long while… Have traveled on foot alone, growing up. “This isn’t a big deal, dammit.” I snorted out, muttering to myself. A gentle breeze blew and so could I hear the rustles as I moved. I couldn’t wait to meet Julian. I had so much to tell him! Of course, apologizing was the first on my list, for not coming back… Goodness knows how he must have been worried. “Breathe in, Maya.” I told myself, with an intent to use my vampiric speed to my advantage. “Out…in, let’s
Maya *Back to reality* … I woke up on shore after surprisingly blacking out. My clothes were tattered and torn, barely hanging on my body. Luckily, my sunlight pendant was still on my neck. Yet, I felt nauseous, my heart ached for something. I let out a cough, gasping out water which definitely entered my system after almost drowning to my death. “Damnation…” I trailed, after I realized I had gone off my path. I didn’t even know where this route led to. It was the other side, of the waterfall. More like the end… My eyes widened at the realization that the wolves might come searching for me on this side. “Fuck!” I hissed, standing up and dusting the sane parts of my clothes that could be dusted. Where was Javier and Ambroz? “Maya…” A voice seeped into my head, from the waters. I looked down, watching it crawl to where I stood. It was slippery, blue and natural looking. “What…do you want from me?” I gasped, holding my throat. It seemed like I was choking. Tears formed in my e
