Chapter 15: Orange

"Yes, now I can see you!" Galen said over the phone as he stared at Zoren's nose through the video call. "Move your hand away from your face so I can see you clearly."

"If I move it, will you still hear me?"

"He will," Verena responded. She pulled Zoren's phone away from his ear and pointed at a button. "Take a look at this; when this button is pressed, the phone call will sound louder." She did as she explained and called Galen. "Galen, talk."

"Hello, hello!"

"This is too loud for my liking; I don't want to hear his teenage voice that loud again."

"That's mean, you know."

The woman laughed as she sat beside Zoren. "Sadly, you have to do this since I won't be able to hear Galen talk. I don't have the same ears as you do."

"You must be thankful for that," Zoren whispered to her. "You would hate to hear this guy sing at the top of his lungs all day."

"I wasn't even trying to sing loudly!" Galen tried to defend himself. "And I actually thought that I was good at it, if I am being honest.
