11. Pain And Pleasure

As I stood in the same position, my disapproval of conveying his orders became palpable. My mind raced, desperately searching for any excuse that could divert his attention away from me.

I should have known that complaining about my dress to him was of no use, something in my mind was telling me to run away, but where to, I wouldn't even reach anywhere before he grabs me back to him.

"I'm sorry, Master. Cecil told me to finish my work up here after an hour and return, or else she would punish me for coming late" I lied— a big fat useless one.

Useless in the fact that he is the one that does the main orders around here, so disobeying him to go meet Cecil was trash I came up with. My excuse was futile, as it was clear that his orders held ultimate authority. Disobeying him was a foolish and ill-conceived plan.

I don't even know how I came up with that, I just spat it out as it flowed to my lips.
