Chapter 2: My New Home

Chapter 2: My New Home

ISABEL

"Huh?" I popped out surprised eyes at him.

"Be my bed warmer, we can discuss the details later. You look like you'll know how to handle a man like me." He gave me a teasing smile that I found boring. He wasn't the man my heart was missing, it was Jason, the man who left me for another woman.

"May I know why you stopped?" Mavis asked as soon he walked up to where we were. He's asking me to be his mistress, I meant to say but rather, I only smiled.

My stepbrother had a pair of glasses on to protect his eyes from the rising sun. He rested his hand on my shoulder as he waited for my response.

"Umm, how about you get to the car and I'll join you as soon as I'm done with him?" I asked feigning a smile that informed him that I wanted to get rid of him to face the man before me.

"Her father owes me up to eight thousand and seven hundred dollars. She's not willing to pay back." The creditor said instantly distracting Mavis.

"Do you know him?" Mavis asked as he turned to the man.

"I umm, yeah." I stammered. "He's my late father's business associate. I've told him to be patient with me while I gather enough money to clear the debts " I wanted to take care of my business alone without having to involve anyone else. And, even if I had to seek help from other people, not from Mavis.

"Aren't you ashamed to harass a lady in the open because of eight thousand and seven hundred dollars?"

"Is the amount that common? Well then, why not help her clear the debts?" He chuckled looking from Mavis to me for our reactions. Did he just challenge Mavis?

Mavis smirked and I watched as he walked away leaving me behind. I exhaled and lowered my eyes to my feet in shame. This was more than I bargained for.

"See? Did he just walk away? He left you." The creditor laughed and mocked. "I thought he was going to save you, or, do you have another savior? I told you, you've got only one choice," He laughed again and reached out to grab my collar but stopped when we heard a commanding voice.

"Hold it right there! Don't dare to touch her in my presence nor my absence."

It was Mavis. He went to and fro his Lambo and returned with a black credit card, thank goodness.

"Zero, zero, zero, two, that's the pin. Take your money, and return my card to the bank. They'll return it to me, don't pick more than you mentioned." He gave the card to him and he felt reluctant to extend a hand as shock washed over his shameless face. He was probably wondering what business he had with me to be willing to clear the debts.

"I think it was fifteen thousand and two hundred dollars. Right? Isabel?" He said in a mocking style.

Mavis suddenly pulled his glasses and held him by the collar, lifting him from the ground effortlessly. "It's me, Mavis Mulan, I do give liberally but as for you? You don't deserve my generosity. If you exceed your boundaries, you'll forever regret meeting me." He dropped him to the ground and he tottered before eventually regaining balance.

The man rushed toward me and dumped the card in my palm, "Please, can you make a transfer instead? I'm sorry, I didn't know you were serious about...," he paused and looked at Mavis again and began to walk away.

"Forgive me, Isabel." The man said as he walked away.

"Here's your card," I stretched out to hand him the card but he gestured for me to keep it.

"Use that to repay all your late father's creditors, the money there is unlimited." He said that in such a simple way without thinking twice.

"Huh?" My mouth was left open. "Hello, you don't need to worry about me. I can take care of my business,"

He opened the car door for me, "Remember, we're family. We can do anything for each other, right?"

'Anything' rang in my head. "Anything possible, sure." I concurred with a soft smile as I lowered myself into the car. "You saved me twice, I owe you one." I made the promise lightly not knowing what I was signing up for.

Mavis gave a sensual smile and licked his lips. I was watching him from the rearview mirror. From time to time during our ride, he stole glances at me but I kept still as though I wasn't aware.

God, why was he looking at me? Watching his eyes on my body through the rearview mirror made me feel giddy and hot, the chilly AC notwithstanding.

"You know," I began, so he could concentrate on paying attention to me rather than looking at me. "You don't look anything like you were at high school."

He moved his eyes from my parts to my face instantly in surprise, "Did you attend St' Brian's Highschool?"

I felt my heart crack at his question. "Yes," I responded. Gees, did he not know? Has he forgotten or never noticed me? That would be a lie though. Right? Cause if I do see him, he was supposed to see me too, somehow.

He exhaled and rubbed his beard, thinking briefly. "By scholarship," I quickly added. I knew he was wondering how my parents were able to sponsor me through high school. It was one of the top high schools in Los Angeles and only the children of the wealthy were able to afford the expenses.

"Interesting, you must be very intelligent to have deserved a scholarship then."

"Oh," I muttered and forced a fake smile. I still couldn't believe that I was in the same car with Mavis Mulan. How did Mom do it? How did she ever get a place in Mr. Mulan's heart and marry him? Move on Dear, you are not in his league and might never be. My friend's statement still replayed in my mind whenever I thought about Mavis.

"I'm sure you must have listened to the girls, they called me a playboy." He said suddenly when the chauffeur drove through the gate of the house. The gates, made of pure gold, shone brightly as the early morning sun kissed its surfaces.

I only smiled at what he'd said about being called a playboy, praying deeply that I get out of the Lambo and run into my mother's bosom.

"My Darling is home!" Mom exclaimed, walking out side by side with my stepfather from a multi-billion-dollar white mansion of over twelve thousand square feet. This was the best place to be, it looked like a semi-heaven.

For the sake of first impression, I started wondering if I was properly dressed. I shouldn't be looking ugly from the beginning, it would leave a bad impression.

"You are beautiful," Mavis said, seeing that I'd taken out a tiny mirror from my bag to look at my face.

"Thank you," I said. The car door was opened by a uniformed man. "Welcome, Miss Isabel,"

"Thank you," I said again as I stepped out of the Lambo.

Mom extended her arms and I walked into them, "It's good to be back." I said as she released her arms around me. "Meet my husband,"

"Welcome home," My stepfather wrapped his arms around me. "Thanks, Dad," he patted me on the back and released me.

For once, I felt loved and valued. I exchanged pleasantries adequately with Mr. Mulan's three sons. Jessie, Roland, and Donald, the twins. A maid showed me to my room and helped with setting up the room.

On the eve of the day, there was a knock on my door. "Dinner is served, Miss Isabel." A lady informed me as I opened the door. "Alright, I'll be there in a minute."

At the table, we were all seated for dinner except Mavis. After waiting for a while, Mom gestured for me to fetch him. Why me? A maid could easily get him and not me but for the sake of my stepfather, I pretended as though it was an exciting task.

In the hallway, I sent an SMS to Mom's phone: MOM, DON'T DO THIS EVER AGAIN! But, she replied with a confused emoji.

I walked down the hallway to Mavis' room and found that the door was left open. I simply pushed it and boom, what a sight to behold. Unaware of my presence, I made it inside his room and found him lying face up.

A young girl who appeared to be living inside his room for a while was over him, his naked cock buried deep down her throat. Her hands moved up and down his length, as she sucked the hail out of him.

Instantaneously, Mavis' eyes sprang open. God! He caught me.

"Isabel!" I bounced his door and ran toward the dining room. "Isabel, please!"
