071 The Mate Thing

Sam's prayer had knocked her out. We saw the black cloud sip into her nostrils and mouth. It felt weird and wrong, but that was the only option we had. Everything had to come together for the greater good. We stood and waited for the merger to be complete.

After a while, Sam woke up with dark eyes. Her skin was pale, and she had dark veins all over. It was just like my visions of her. Because of Luna, she was now tethered to darkness but not a slave to it.

"How are you feeling, Sam?" I asked her, and she looked at me, blinking those pitch-black eyes, and I was a bit scared and worried at the same time.

"Ellis," she said, sounding like two people, and I paused to compose myself.

"May I speak with Luna, please," I asked her, and she just stared at me.

"What do you want?" she asked me with a very harsh tone, and I knew who I was speaking with.

"Sorry I expelled you. I did not know you were trying to help her," I apologised to her, and she did not smile.
