|4 Months Later|The snores from Alana filled the room. Eva sat up in her bed. The pads of her fingers glided across the page of the book. One upside to being blind and reading a book? She didn't need light to read. Eva could read in the dark until her heart's content, Aside from Alana's slight snores and the thumping hearts from everyone inside the PackHouse. The night was quite serene.Eva could hear the leaves moving in the wind outside. It was very relaxing. These past four months had been a bit tough on Eva. Often she would find herself thinking about her mate. She wondered if he was okay or if he had eaten. Eva didn't understand why she cared about him. He was awful to her, and the last time she saw him was six months ago.She figured it was the mate bond that had her worried about Prince Cole. She tried her b
The trip back home felt way shorter than the trip to the Rogue pack. Eva continued to lead her team. Only now, her team had grown double in size thanks to the warriors from the rogue pack.Eva couldn't figure out what the play was. Did the King want to attack each pack with such little warriors? The King should know that he would lose. It would have been better to attack one pack at a time, starting with the strongest. As Eva thought about the Kingdom's ultimate plan, the group finally arrived at the Green Forest Pack. Eva met up with Alana, who had stayed behind with some warriors to protect the elders and the children and their mothers who were human."Any news?" Alana questioned with worry as she ran her eyes over Eva to check for any injuries.
When they finally reached the Green Forest Pack, Eva let out a sigh. She was exhausted. She had never felt so exhausted in her life.As they neared the Packhouse, many of the warriors from the rogue pack left and headed home. Eva entered the Packhouse and was quickly bombarded with the smell of breakfast. Bacon, Eggs, Pancakes, coffee, and Toast.Eva ran up to her room and grabbed a change of clothes. She listened for her best friend and smiled as she heard her in the alpha office, speaking with warriors and pack members. It seemed Alana's work was yet to be done.It gave Eva enough time to head to the bathroom and shower. After a quick warm shower, Eva sat on her bed and relaxed. The day was starting, and yet she felt like she needed a long nap.
| On The Jet |“Have you prepared for what you are going to say to the King?” Alana questioned as she crossed one leg over the other and sat back in her seat.“I am going to politely request assistance from them,” Alexandrov said with a smirk.“Dad, that's terrible preparation.” Alan laughs at her father.“I was thinking Eva could speak to the King.” Alexandrov smiled as he looks at the vampire reading a book.“With all due respect Alpha that is a terrible idea!” Eva exclaims as she slams her book close in surprise.“Why not?”“M
The music hummed in Eva’s ears. The soothing sound of the piano relaxed her as she read her book. She was completely cut off from the real world and was totally immersed in her book.Although Eva would usually stay alert, for some reason she felt like she could be at ease. Maybe it was because she was with Alana. She felt safe and secure. She had no need to fear anyone or anything. That was until someone tapped her shoulder and made her jump out of her skin. She roughly pulled her earphones from her ears and closed her book.”Can I help you?” Eva questioned as she sat up and listened for who was around her.”Sorry I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to come and say H
| At The Castle |”His Highness will see you in just a moment.” One of the castle workers spoke as he led everyone into a large office.Alexandrov thanked the man as he excused himself and left all three of them alone.”What do you think he’ll be like?” Alana questioned as she helped Eva to her seat.”Alana, I beg of you please behave.” Alexandrov warned.”Daddy, I always behave.” Alana smirked.Alexandrov and Alana both took a seat and waited for the King to show up.”You are awfully quiet” Alana spoke up as she glanced at Eva.&
”So what happened?” Alana questioned with a smirk. ”We just talked. I told him what was going on. He will decide what happens next.” Eva mumbled as she met up with Alexandrov and Alana. The three of them decided to head back to the hotel and leave the decision up to the King. | 2 Days Later | ”Eva! How was your trip?” Misty smiled as her daughter climbed out of the SUV. ”Hey Mom, it was okay.” Eva smiled as the smell of home filled her senses. Misty pulled Eva in for a hug and smiled brightly. She had missed her baby girl. Eva returned her hug with as much vigor as she could muster. ”Have you eaten? The ladies in the kitchen can prepare something for you.” ”Can you have them send it up to my room? I'm really tired” Eva smiled softly as she once again hugged her mother and walked to her room. ”Sure thing.” Misty whispered as she knew her daughter was once again going to shut herself away in her room. | At The Vampire Castle | “You called for me your highness?” The private In
“Eva? Are you in here?” Samael questioned as he hesitantly walked into the silent library. The book that Eva had dropped at the hotel was now in his hands. “In here” Eva shouted as she continued to read her book. Samael walked to the back of the library. He admired the rows and rows filled with books. Surprised that so many Braille books existed in one place.“Alana said I would find you here.” Sam smiled as he took a seat next to Eva on the windowsill. “Yeah, this is my sanctuary. I spend most of my time here.” Eva muttered as her fingers continued to slide across the book. “I figured when I saw you down by the pool at the hotel.” Sam smiled as looked at the book in his hands. “Were you watching me?” Eva questioned as her fingers came to a halt and a small smile formed on her face. “What? No… of course not. I simply glanced your way when I walked in that day. Actually, I came looking for you because you dropped this that day.” Sam muttered shyly. Samael softly grabbed Eva’s ha
