THE UNEXPECTED PROXIMITY

Once we were within the embrace of the dark tree clad, he lit a candle up! I gasped.

“Where did you get that?” I asked, disbelief marring my voice.

“In one of those tribal lamp shed” he smiled at my reaction. Those dimples simply take my breath away.

“Stay right here, I will look for some wood” he said rising to his feet. I ignored him and started picking up some wood, alongside him, he sighed. I’m not ready to let him go on his own. 'If there is anything that could endanger his life, is you idiot', my subconscious sneered at me, my feet faltered at the impact of those words. 

“Careful Ana” Ethan grasped my elbow to steady me. I tried to steer clear my emotions, I don’t want to concern him with my misery.
