A couple of nights later, the night of the ball had arrived. It was a huge success. Everyone was congratulating them on their engagement. Prince Louis arrived and even stole Amaya away for a dance. It was the only way you could get her alone to talk to just her. Felipe noticed though that she was gone. He asked Pierre if he'd seen her.

She dressed in her nightclothes and laid down. She must have been more tired than she thought because two hours later when Felipe came back up, she was passed out.
