‘How could I live well if my precious feelings for the one I love faded away?’

Lucas’s words were right. Although Wilson didn’t feel hurt anymore, he felt empty, almost as if he had lost something important.

Clara was resting on the couch when Wilson returned. She hadn’t turned off the lights yet.

“Hey, you’re back.”

She was startled when she saw Wilson’s bruised face. She quickly moved closer to him to inspect his injuries. “What happened to your face?! Did you drink?”

Wilson reeked of alcohol.

“Yeah, a little. Why don’t you go to bed first while I wash up,” Wilson said and took a new set of clothes from the closet before stepping into the shower.

The warm water that trickled down his body made his wounds sting.

‘Do I regret it?’ Wilson asked himself as he put his hand over his heart.

The emptiness in his heart was so vivid.
