Jill stood frozen and stared after them both. Then, with a mixture of shock and relief, she dropped into a chair and took a deep breath.

That had just gone well – at least she thought so. Shaking her head, she wondered what the devil had possessed Craig to come down here half-naked, knowing full well that they weren't alone in the house. She fervently hoped that Joel hadn't suspected not to think about telling Harriet anything about that scene.

She quietly crept to the door and put her ear to it, wanting to know if Joel Craig was asking any awkward questions. But nothing more than an indistinct murmur could be heard.

Morosely she pushed the cleaning bucket into a corner and disappeared upstairs. She didn't feel like meeting the two of them again now, her need for excitement was covered for the day.
