EMILY'S POV
My eyes opened up and I was met with the beautiful night sky.
How I wished my life was beautiful like the sky.
My body felt heavy and weak as I clawed at the ground.
My fingers and lips were cracked and I wished I could vanish in the next moment.
But then reality was staring me right in the face and I couldn't run.
The pain in my heart continued to increase as the sky served as the big screen, showing me what my life had turned into.
"Haha…" I let out a mocking chuckle, as I struggled to stand up to my feet.
My legs wobbled and I had to steady myself not to fall.
I stunk of blood and grime and I just wanted to take off my dress.
My dress would forever remind me of my sorrows and my birthday had turned into a cursed day.
With my hands clenched into fists, I started to wobble my way back to the Beta mansion. And then I realized I was bare footed.
Suddenly a voice floated into my ears, "Look at that thief. You shouldn't be like her." The voice said, and it was a mother advising her child.
I suddenly became the bane of the pack and I looked up to the heavens.
"I'm a bad daughter." I said, simply.
Twenty minutes later, I was seated in my bathtub, naked, while I stared blankly at the wall. The wall represented the blank state of my mind and I knew I needed some color on it, else I would go crazy.
I shut my eyes as I let myself sink into the tub as the water came over me.
A thought crossed my mind to end it all but then I couldn't do it. I knew killing myself was something my parents would frown upon.
In the next second, I stood up from the tub. My once dirty body was now clean and my birthday dress was discarded in the corner.
Like a robot, I walked toward my closet and I started to ransack everywhere. Trying to find what to wear and in the process, my eyes caught onto a short and revealing dress.
"The nightclub." I said as a thought popped in my head.
I realized I could get drunk now and no one would care.
I heard alcohol could drown a person's sorrows.
The next moment, I threw on the dress. I felt really uncomfortable but then my life was far from comfortable anyway.
Walking to my wide mirror, I applied light makeup and I was ready.
With a sigh through my lips, I grabbed my little bag and I put on 6-inch heels and In the next second, I sashayed my way out of the house.
For a moment, I felt my eyes go hazy and I got into any available car belonging to my family.
Swiftly, I started the car engine and I drove off.
Thirty minutes later, I was before the nightclub. I wouldn't lie, I was damn nervous as it was my first time.
I have heard stories of girls being drugged and taken away in the club and for a moment, I wished it would happen to me.
However, in the next moment, I shook my head and then walked forward to join the queue before me.
I tried to hide my face, hoping no one would recognize me as I was still in the pack.
However, it seemed everyone was piped to get in and they had no business with anyone.
Soon, it was my turn and I walked in with a nervous smile on my face.
The whole place was blasting with music and it was a good distraction for me.
My eyes roamed all over the place and I could see people dancing wildly with their sweaty bodies.
But then I did not want to dance, I just wanted to get drunk.
In the next moment, I sauntered toward the bar.
"A glass of whiskey, please." I ordered and the bartender looked at me like I had grown two heads.
"Are you sure?" He asked me, with a skeptical look in his eyes.
He probably thought I was a little kid who sneaked out of the house.
However, I did not reply to him, I stared at him with a forlorn look in my eyes.
I wanted him to see how sad I was and he would realize how badly I needed the alcohol.
"Sure…" He replied in the next second and our staring contest ended.
In the next moment, a glass of whiskey was placed before me and my eyes shone.
Without thinking twice, I downed the drink in one go and my throat burned.
"Ahhhh…" I let out as I slammed the glass on the table.
"Another glass…" I ordered and the bartender heeded to my words.
This routine continued until I had downed three glasses.
"Hey…" I heard an incredibly familiar voice behind me and I turned.
I blinked my hazy eyes and I saw Eric before me.
"You must really think you're hot, in that dress, huh?" He said to me and I snorted, lowly.
I could see the heated look in his eyes as his eyes roamed over my body.
I knew he was bewitched by my beauty but then why wouldn't he leave me alone even after rejecting me.
"What do you want?" I asked, with a cocky smile on my face.
With the alcohol in my system, my confidence shot up to the skies and I felt like I was free.
"Sleep with me. I want to thrust in and out of your wet cunt." He said to me and I snorted.
His words rang in my head and I realized he wanted me to give myself to him.
In the next moment, I burst into a peal of mocking laughter.
"You wish…" I said, simply, as my laugh came to an abrupt end.
In the next second, I pushed against Eric and stood up on my wobbly feet. I stumbled forward aiming to find the restroom.
"Come back here. You wouldn't find this opportunity elsewhere." He yelled and I snorted.
I couldn't believe he would say that to me but then his words made a thought pop in my head.
"I need to get laid!" I declared as I finally found the restroom.
Immediately I stumbled in and I came face to face with a man so majestic, I was speechless.
Even with my hazy eyes, I could still see his defined features and he exuded power like I have never felt before.
"What are you doing here?" He asked me, in a low tone.
"Oops…" I said, as I looked around and realized I was in the men's restroom.
But then I still did not make any move to walk out as I was drawn to the man before me.
"I want to get laid. Let's have sex." I blurted without thinking as he stepped closer to me.
His eyes held a dangerous light but then I knew there was something lurking within them.
At that point, I knew he was attracted to me too.
"Sure!" He replied, simply and immediately I smirked.
I decided it was way better to give myself to a stranger I was attracted to than to give myself to Eric.
In the next second, our bodies touched as his breath fanned my neck and I shivered. My nipples puckered and I felt my core go wet as he touched me.
His touch ignited fire in me that only him could quench at that point.
In the next second, our lips slammed against each other and we were drawn into a world of ecstasy.
Lightning flashed across the freezing sky, brightening the room out of its darkness for only a single moment. The rain pounded on, jolting the windows that thudded against each drop. The room was simple, a small wooden bookshelf filled to the brim was near the door, the walls were a navy color while the door was pitch black. It seemed like a hotel room. Whoever brought her here obviously didn’t want her to know where he stays or was also on the run from things she would rather not bother herself with. It was almost square, perhaps a little longer than it was wide, with only one window that filled almost the entire far wall. So far, completely blank and empty, it was expectant, almost curious, and Emily, lying timidly in the bed, staring at the ceiling. EMILY’s POV: I woke up in a bed that didn’t feel like mine. The sheets were a different color and they were made with a different fabric than mine. They had better quality, too. Even the pillows felt so soft. I had one un
“Sire! Sire!”, a servant barged into their dining room at lunch, sweating profusely as he fell face down at his father’s feet. He didn’t look like any of their own, and recognizing him was difficult as he laid facing the ground. Coming into the presence of the alpha uninvited was a great crime. And no one else dared to ask you to rise but the alpha himself. On most days, he did, and on the others, well, you just had to lay there until he decides what to make of you. Often times, defaulters were punished. And the punishment meant cutting off one of their fingers. With this in mind, whoever decided to barge in on the alpha was either of two things: either brave or stupid. And this servant really did look stupid laying there that way. His only luck was the regalia he wore. He belonged to The Watsons. The alpha knew today was their daughter’s eighteenth birthday, and he’d received a letter of invitation. He’d been at a few of her birthdays, but this one was important. It was her
In another part of the supernatural world, a pack of werewolves had lost their alpha, and a new one was needed. Panic and confusion was thrown in when The Order of their Elders consulted the Moon Goddess and she showed them a vision of who the new alpha was meant to be. It was a human. A weak, human male who probably didn’t know his entire life was about to change. He probably didn’t even believe in mythical creatures and would freak out if he found out that he was appointed as the new alpha of one of the most prestigious wolf families. The entire pack was thrown into confusion at this discovery, but nothing could be done about it. Although, there’s been a handful of wolf men in the past who were previously humans before they got turned, there has never been a case of one of them ascended up to the level of alpha, but now, not only was a human male going to be turned, he was also named alpha. There were doubts, but the Moon Goddess was never wrong. She never made mistakes, and for the
When Katrina realized the men she just beat up were gone, she hurriedly rushed to where the human alpha lay on the ground to pick him up. She understood that vampires needed blood to survive, hence the need to hunt for food. What she didn’t understand was why these four vampires had to beat this man to pulp. “They could have just sucked him dry instead. . .”, she thought to herself. “. . . they could have just easily done that. So why not? Why didn’t they?”, she continued with her thoughts, searching around with her eyes as if to find clue or answers scattered on the ground somewhere. There was nothing. Not even their scents were present anymore. She remembered when she used to go on missions like this, but this time the mission was different. It was to save a human, not to kill one. It proved difficult. She wasn’t used to saving things or people. She was a born killer. She killed her first pet. A rare, white bat her parents had gifted her on her seventh birthday. She h
She knew they would be back. The vampires. If they didn’t complete a kill, or whatever their mission they embarked on, they always came back with a swarm. They never moved alone. They move like a swarm of bats. Never alone. She wondered what they wanted to do with him and why they didn’t just feed off him. She was well aware vampires were involved in recent kidnappings due to their ability to move unnoticed and subtly, but this only occured with well planed strategies and fancy weapons and good cars and not this type of backstreet bullying. Whoever sent the men was either someone very influential who needed to trace him a lesson, or someone he had ratted out on. Someone who wasn’t very pleased with having him around anymore, but in the contrary, as she would later come to discover, it wasn’t either of the two scenarios she had made up in her head. It also dawned on her that the men didn’t have intentions of feeding off the man. They just wanted to give him a good beating
In the dawn that breaks without falling, before the dusk that rises with the bloodshot red emanating from all sides of the night sky, there was nothing comparable to the red in the eyes of the fangs lurking in the shadows. It was their strongest moments. The ones who saw through the blanket of nights that covered images in the darkest of skies where no normal human eyes could see. The blood suckers with fangs always as young and firm as their age in time. No one was too old to live and no one was too young to hunt. They hunted alike. Like the bats that crush down on insects at night, to the tiger tearing through the tears ripped on his prey by his teeth while on savage attack. The life force of all supernatural life forms, the vampires. The beings with the eternal ability to live through time and all they had to do was just to constantly renew their blood sacrifice by picking any young human they’d like to live in for the next five thousand years. It was also during this
His vision swam into blackness for a split second, but just long enough for his brain to register the pain that followed on each passing second of the fall. A few things registered in slow motion and he wondered vaguely if this was what dying felt like. If anyone would have told him he’d be dead by now, he’d tell them to get their facts right. Not only that. By the time that thought finished registering in his mind, he was flat on the cold concrete and his body gave out completely as darkness took over once more. No longer aware of the world, the pain, or anything else, he slipped into the welcoming arms of unconsciousness. And, as he finally succumbed to the numbness that seemed to pervade the world around him, he wished his life was better than getting beat up by men he didn’t know. It wasn’t about the pain. Or the lack thereof. Growing up, he’d been hit before—many times—and he knew how to handle himself better than most. It was the fact that he feared he wouldn’t live lo
“There had to be an explanation somewhere”, he thought, as Katrina looked at him with her head tilted a little to one side. He had never heard anyone speak like that before. Usually, everyone spoke with a certain confidence and authority in their voices, making him wonder why she felt the need to talk in such a soft, tender way. He didn’t like the idea at all. In fact, he thought it was pretty creepy. And he didn’t understand her at all. She certainly hadn’t acted like anyone else. What the hell did she want from him? She didn’t seem to be acting like anybody he’d ever known in his life – people, at least. He knew that humans weren’t exactly the best judges of character either. At least, he wasn’t sure about the human he’d known. All he knew was that he had never met anyone who didn’t seem to have some flaw. And if those flaws didn’t exist in the humans he knew, then they must also not exist in the other humans too. There was just nothing common about them at all. He tried har
