CHAPTER 16

Astraea's POV

My breath hitched as I counted on the possibility of getting slashed under so many wild paws.

Will they even give me time to feel pain or will I be dead before I could feel anything?

Clink...

The forgotten knife fell on the grass near my leg. Hastily picking it up I pointed it towards the pack of the wolves.

Even though they were standing on the other side of the lake, there was a high chance they could swim toward us. I was afraid to move and not wanting to show my fear, I firmly stood my ground.

They weren't as big as Coffee, but that still wasn't comforting enough.

One of them growled as it moved a little forward, its black eyes were penetrating into mine. Those sharp canines were covered with drool.

They are really going to eat me, aren't they?

The view, however, was blocked by the furry beast beside me. Coffee stood before me and howled so loudly that it made me shriek. I put my hands on my mouth to stop myself from screaming. Slowly, I took steps back.
